Cincinnati, OH -(AmmoLand.com)- Faxon Firearms has released two new barrels in their 5R lineup: the 20″ Heavy Fluted and 20″ Medium Taper barrels.

These 20″ barrels are chambered in .308 WIN, button rifled with 1:10 5R twist, and have a 5/8-24 TPI muzzle thread. They have a .750″ gas block diameter and .093″ gas port diameter. Both have a DPMS LR-308 compatible barrel extension.

The 20″ 5R Heavy Fluted Barrel has a 1.1″ gas block length, total weight of 2.46 lbs and an MSRP of $339.00. The 20″ 5R Medium Taper Barrel has a 1.9″ gas block length, total weight of 2.55 lbs and an MSRP of $289.00.

Faxon barrels are manufactured completely in-house, fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and 11-degree target crowned for accuracy. Faxon uses either certified 4150 Mil-Spec steel or 416-R stainless steel for their 5R barrels. After rigorous testing, a Nitride finish and final inspection, all barrels are individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges.

Faxon manufactures all barrels in Cincinnati, Ohio under ISO:9001 and AS:9100 quality certifications.

Great… but Faxon is the “out of stock” company.

They seem to run a 2-3 week production cycle. When you decide you want one of their barrels, need to jump on it fast. If you miss it on their web site, do a google search and you’ll come up with distributors that have them in stock. I just got my 16″ Gunner barrel yesterday.
