A need finally filled
Dayton OH -(AmmoLand.com)- Hi-Point 9mm (Model 995) carbines are known for their robust construction, accuracy, reliability, and affordability.
The only “problem”: The 9mm Hi-Point OEM magazines hold 10 rounds. For engineering reasons and due to the huge volume of sales of the 9mm carbine with the 10-round magazine, there were no plans by Hi-Point to make a higher capacity magazine.
The solution: The Redball, a one-piece, 20-round, single-stack magazine for the Hi-Point carbine. This great-looking articulated magazine fits and feeds the 9mm Hi-Point carbine without fail. Moreover, it is the only high-capacity magazine tested and approved by Hi-Point firearms and MKS Supply.
It looks like two magazines welded together, but what looks like a mid-point weld area is actually a polymer-molded magazine well stabilizer called a locking plate that makes the magazine fit firmly in the carbine’s grip to prevent wiggle and thus increase ammunition feed reliability.
There are plans to offer the Redball magazine for Hi-Point’s .40 and .45 ACP carbines in the future, but the company wanted to guarantee this concept, get things patented and satisfy the current 9mm demand first, so one new magazine is all they can take on presently.

I have the 995 and also the Hi Tower bullpup frame for it, why I spend money on it? Simple..the 995 works without a hiccup, but the single stack 10 rounds is plainly unrealistic. 9mm rounds are a pain to load without a loader. More capacity equals more fun in between loads. What I been thinking is to weld a 10 round mag to a any drum over 20-30 or 50 rounds…the thing is to find a drum like so for the conversion. THAT is what got me to this page! 15 rounds is OK but, I’d tather have more rounds as long as they feed reliably! 10 rounds os not enough if one is actually going to use this for any kind of combat on American soil! IF it should ever come to that! I am seriously thinking about buying one of these 4096TD carbines for when the SHTF! the 1911 military service pistol serve in 2 world wars, Korea, and Vietnam as America’s sidearm. This weapon only has a 7 round magazine, so with one in the chamber you start out with 8 round! The point is carry as many magazines as you feel comfortable with and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, changing them out in any and every situation! That what our GI’s did and were successful in every conflict the fought in. Even in Vietnam the soldiers were successful in their fighting but were stabbed in the back by a liberal fifth column back home!

I bought two 20 round red balls magazines. They were fine as long as you don’t put more than 12 or 13 Rounds in them. I agree with everyone else the 10 Rounds that come with the rifles fall short.
I like and own three 9mm Hi Point carbines of the old and new designs. Their 10 magazines work great. Unfortunately none of the six 20 round Redball magazines would function properly in any of my guns. They wouldn’t feed JHP and even FMJ and would only function with 13 or less rounds. The company was kind enough to refund my money but hopefully the worked out the problems. I had the problems in 2017.
Just when you thought it was safe Hi Point throws a 10 mm at us. 1095TS model they didn’t make enough mags for us gun lovers, out of stock at this time. Have other four models and love the no jam factors. Just got the 10mm so I thought I would give a heads up. KEEP ON PULLING
Re: HP 995 Carbine in 9mm. Boy, what an ugly gun! BUT… darn thing is accurite (50 yards, factory sights), and even after 3000 rds, it don’t fail. Two months and 10,000 rds later, still going stong. We use the Redball 20 rd mags, with MagTech ammo. They’re a bit difficult to load (because of their “dog-leg” shape), but they have been very reliable and surprizingly durable. If HP or Redball were to come out with, say, a 50+ rd mag or drum, I doubt they would be able to make them fast enough to satisfy dealer stock. HP seems… Read more »
so my understanding is, if i go an spend the 30 bucks, my 2017 c9 will not jam and work fine with this mag?
As far as I am aware, this magazine is not recommended for use in the c9 pistol.
Do they have a 40 cal extended magazine
What about the 45acp magazine at least by now I thought would be available?!! A 30 – 50rd drum would be great, but a single stack into the grip and a double stack beneath it could be 29rds for 45acp should be easy to make
I own a C-9 and a 995 carbine, just ordered the 4595 will have it about the 9th of December. I have purchased two 20 round Redball magazines. They both work well in the two weapons, however with the 20 Rnd. mag sticking out of the C-9 it looks rather rediculous! And is cumbersome to say the least…
I have the original carbine but purchased an after market stock that looks more like a more aggressive Beretta stock. I originally had problems with the original mags but these work and look great . No feed problems. Very happy with the 20 rounders. I saw KaCee Martinez ask for a 30-50 round drum and to that I say why not. I have a GSG 22 rifle with a 110 round drug and love it. This is one tough carbine and I think it could handle it.
I also have the beretta storm styled stock and would love a bigger mag. My 15rnd is just now started not liking to throw all of em if I load over 12 thinkin it’s just old and time for the upgrade. Any information would be great
I just barely bought my own 995 9mm rifle, and I love this mag, but if they could make a 30-50 round drum that would be awesome to have! So far I am extremely satisfied with the gun for its price!
They won’t work very well in the original model. I bought 3 for my old carbine and they wouldn’t feed reliably and the magazines wouldn’t eject or even insert properly.
I love my Hi Point 9mm Carbine more importantly so does my 5’2″ wife who with the modified Beretta style stock with laser lets her handle the shorter rifle in close quarters. I had one 15 round mag and now plan to get a number of 20 round mags. Very reliable carbine that I love and everyone that said they were just cheap used the wrong adjective. They are inexpensive, reliable additions to your armory. I intend to purchase more.
15 round extended Mags for the 1911 A1 45 acp fit well in my Hi Point 45 acp Carbine. A minor modification of bending one of the holes in the new mag will permit the mag to be locked in the Hi Point .45 carbine. Search for the U Tube video on how to adapt the .45 1911 acp extended mag for use in the Hi Point .45 acp carbine. A double stack magazine wouldn’t fit in the grip.
That would require an extensive redesign of the gun.
it goes from single stack to double stack, to better make sense to the IL brain, from the end of the grip to the end of the magazine is double stack, the portion that goes in and secures in the magazine well is single stack.
Hi-point is coming around to the consumer way of thinking. I own thee versions of their carbines now, and I really enjoy shooting them. However, I do wish they could come up with a reliable double stack magazine for all of them.
I LOVE all my hi ponts and am looking forward to planting some freedom seeds with this mag.
Personally I’m glad Hi Point has FINALLY figured out that their factory mags are JUNK! Too bad this company just doesn’t make ALL their mags for them if they did (or I should say had) I would have probably kept the C-9 I traded (with cash) for my CZ75D PCR.

Not that I’m unappreciative but it has been a long time coming! That said and off my chest I guess I should be grateful. I own 2 of each carbines not including the just recently released 380 acp. I have had some very minor issues that Hi-Point covered under warranty. They with out a doubt are the very best when it comes to warranty. I have own a 9mm Carbine version for about five years. I called the company many years ago and asked if they had or were considering a higher capacity mag. I was told there were no plans and they would never make them available. So, I say fantastic and that it is about time. It would be nice to have a fifty round mag like a Mag-pul AR mag. Thanks for this news since it will mean carrying less mags and feeding them!

Does hi point cf380 have bigger magazine than a 10 shot
I have not been having any problems using the 9mm carbine mags in my CF380. But I also polished my feed ramp as well as the slide rail. I removed ask the powder coating from the inside. It trends to get kind of sticky when heated. And my buddy adjusts the feed angle on my mags to prevent the round from nosediving as it is loaded. I have the 15 round Carbine mag and have ran through it several times without a single ftf. I’m trying the Redball 20rd mag next.
can you fit more than 15 380 bullets in the carbine mag? also if you do try the 20 rounder let me know how that works i imagine being able to fit maybe 2 or 3 more rounds in the clip because of the shorter bullet
