United States -(AmmoLand.com)- New York Times bestselling author and former U.S. Navy SEAL Mark Divine’s KOKORO Yoga is not your traditional yoga book.

Coach Mark Divine’s integrated training curriculum is an intense physical workout designed for both the nation’s elite special ops soldiers and any athlete with the heart and mind of a warrior.

“In a recent meeting with reps from the United States Marine Corps, the officers told me how disturbed they were by what they saw as declining resiliency in their troops,” says former SEAL Mark Divine. “Of note was how PTSD was not being addressed holistically, and how consequently suicide rates continued to be high with soldiers and marines. We agreed that addressing combat stress after the fact was an incomplete solution.”

Divine has found a sensible, simple and effective means to prepare the troops mentally and emotionally before and during combat through Koroko Yoga, a routine he developed in 2004 while he was deployed in Iraq with SEAL Team One.

Without a program like Koroko Yoga – which is designed to develop mental and emotional toughness – our troops may win the tactical fight, but lose the war for their own health.

“The current solutions for resiliency and PTSD are one-dimensional and lack impact,” states Coach Divine. “However, I have trained warriors going into all branches of SOF forces – as well as select Canadian military units – with Kokoro Yoga and they have seen tremendous success in developing mentally toughness and resiliency.”

Kokoro Yoga sequences are focused to adapt to all physical and mental capabilities, combining breathing, meditation, and visualization into both traditional poses as well as cross-training/combat-conditioning exercises.

Coach Divine’s decades of experience with amateur and professional athletes, active and aspiring Navy SEALs, and wounded warriors uniquely qualifies him as an expert motivator and teacher.

In his new book KOKORO Yoga, the practitioner learns to:

  • Get an unbeatable full-body workout through body-weight functional movements that can be done at home or on-the-go
  • Increase flexibility while building long lean muscle mass
  • Enhance your workouts with deep muscle recovery
  • Improve physical and mental balance, focus, and control at all levels―including a special segment designed for those recovering from PTSD
  • Find emotional, intuitional, and Kokoro (heart) spiritual harmony to achieve peak performance.

Kokoro Yoga develops a harmonious balance between mental and physical toughness, strength, and sense of purpose.

“Kokoro Yoga brings yoga back to it’s warrior roots as a personal developmental tool for mastering the inner domain,” explains Divine. “This is integrated warrior training that has been used by warrior cultures for centuries, to develop disciplined physical and mental training. Let’s stop ignoring the past and utilize the wisdom of our warrior ancestors so that our troops can better accomplish their mission and return home to their families healthy and whole.”

About Mark Divine:

After leaving SEALs active duty in 1997, Mark started his second business career as an entrepreneur. He co-founded the successful Coronado Brewing Company and launched NavySEALs.com in the year he left the active duty Navy. NavySEALs.com is the leading web site for gear and information about the SEALs. US Tactical was next, gaining contracts with Naval Special Warfare Group ONE for training support, and the Navy Recruiting Command for a nationwide mentoring program for SEAL, SWCC, EOD and Diver candidates.

Mark’s business career was interrupted by a stint as an Adjunct Professor of Leadership at the University of San Diego, where he was pursuing his Doctorate in Leadership, then by a one-year recall to active duty in 2004. The recall took him to Baghdad with SEAL Team One to conduct a special project for Naval Special Warfare Command surrounding the role of the USMC in Special Operations.

In 2007 he launched his CrossFit affiliate and the now internationally known SEALfit program to provide transformational personal and team training experiences. The training utilizes an integrated warrior development model he developed, called Unbeatable Mind, which draws from his 20 years as a SEAL and business leader, 25 years as a martial artist and 15 years as yoga practitioner. He now hosts a podcast on PodcastOne and iTunes called Unbeatable Mind.

SEALfit and Unbeatable Mind are uniquely effective at elevating clients to a higher level of operating, thinking and leading – encompassing the full spectrum of human experience – Body, Mind and Spirit in Self, Team and Organization. His bestselling book The Way of the SEAL: Think Like An Elite Warrior to Lead and Succeed was released as a paperback in February 2016. He lives in San Diego.

I just bought this book. I have to say; I love it. Can’t wait to give it a go to make me a better person. I have been reading a lot of books written by SEAL members also joined some of the online programs they have set up. They are always filled with inspirational knowledge. We the general humanity can all benefit by listening and learning from these type of people who have triumphed in life where most have failed. Since reading these books and being apart of the programs I have been better at achieving my goals. Box breathing… Read more »

Holy Cow

WOW. Paul Kathy is afraid yoga will indoctrinate him into a religion of evil entities… I’d be laughing if it wasn’t so sad knowing there are people in the world with such crippling xenophobia. What a miserable life of fear and helplessness – that you can’t do a series of healthy & relaxing stretches without being possessed by demons.

Yogo is an Eastern Spiritual Hindu Religion. Is not not just exercise. I brings its participants into the participation of Hindu, transcendental meditation, and worship of the god sheva. It is not safe, it is religious indoctrination into a religion of evil entities. N ow our government outlaw Christianity and opens the doors to islam and sheva. We were founded on the Judaeo Christian religion and precepts, they are what has made our Country strong and caused us to receive God’s favor. As we turn away from Him, His blessings and Favor, it is no wonder other entities are trying… Read more »

TRUTH BE TOLD

Yoga a religion of no need……

Folks make a lot of noise when they find out I do yoga, because it is so opposite of me and my life, but if you don’t take time for yourself and just run the blood n guts full speed all the time you will burn out. It is a great workout, that hits areas often ignored, and focuses on breathing which will help you in other areas such as shooting. I don’t know anything about this guy or being a navy seal but it’s worth a look.
