New Jersey -(AmmoLand.com)- After almost a year of waiting Governor Christie’s administration has finally issued their Directive to provide clarification on New Jersey’s gun laws.

Main issues that have been addressed are reasonable deviation, delays and violations for permitting and most importantly “Justifiable Need” for issuing a conceal carry permit.

Although the New Jersey Second Amendment Society does not agree with many parts of the Directives this is a step in the right direction.

The primary flaw in the entire Directive is the lack of punishment for any government official(s) who break the law or do not follow the Directive. What good is it to provide “clarification” when they are already breaking the law and know that there will be no punishment for not following the Directive while simultaneously breaking the law?

We shall see how this plays out but we are very confident this will still require private enforcement of the law…and now the Attorney General’s Directive.

As ridiculous as it sounds that we actually need to have the Governor and the Attorney General to tell the police departments and other agencies to follow the law, we commend their efforts.

You can read more about the Directive at the following link:

Sincerely,
Alexander Roubian
President

I watched his handling of a rather notorious tyrannical gun possession case that broke just as he first took office as governor of NJ. Poor chap was travelling in New Jersey with firearms in his car, out of state plates and driving license. Pulled over for nonsense, cops requested to search, he, innocently thinking nothing was wrong, consented… they found a few firearms, and, of course, not being an NJ resident, had no FOID (general Mother May I Card “allowing” residents only to possess firearms within the state’s borders). Instantly arrested, guns and car seized, he copped a plea to… Read more »

Just another reason why Christie should just go away forever. The fact that this guy was even allowed to run as a republican is an insult to the whole conservative movement. He’s just a doofus with a large mouth.

NJ,just another firearms owner paradise !

Another reason why National CCW reciprocity is important because some states like New Jersey, California et al do not care about the Constitution.

I find it really strange how reading comprehension is so absent in todays society. The 2nd A is very clear in using the declarative Verb SHALL coupled with NOT to explain gun ownership. My 7 year old G Child knows the difference between SHALL & MAY.
Now universities are electing to drop History and Civics classes? How dumb is that? They are letting the inmates determine courses that are required to graduate?

New Jersey anti gun laws are why this primary voter voted against Christie. Every republican voter I know didn’t trust him on the gun issue and voted accordingly

New Jersey is almost as bad as Cowlifornicationistan when it comes to American rights.

Should of been doing this in his first term of governor instead of this late in his second term.

New Jersey is so screwed up!! It’s a felony to carry hollow point ammunition in your firearm. Or to even have a jhp bullet in a cheesy necklace. They want you to carry ammo that’ll pass right threw an attacker and hit some innocent bystander making you an instant criminal…..REALLY SCREWED UP!!!

munchie

It should have been “Follow the constitution”

Meh..

On the front of the Statue of Liberty is the icon poem “New Colossus”.

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

On the back is simply spay painted………….
FU New Jersey.
