Newtown, CT -(AmmoLand.com)- The California Assembly Public Safety Committee, as well as the Senate Public Senate Committee, are scheduled to consider numerous gun control bills tomorrow, June 14.

Contact members of these committees immediately and urge them to vote “NO” on the bills listed below.

The Assembly Public Safety Committee will consider the following bills:

  • Senate Bill 880 would expand California’s current definition of “assault weapon,” banning many popular semi-automatic firearms currently legal under California law. Such a measure will do nothing to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. The expansion of the current definition would encompass semi-automatic firearms capable of accepting a detachable magazine, and has one or more of the specified attributes (pistol grip, folding or telescoping stock, forward pistol grip, flash suppressor, etc.).
  • Senate Bill 1235 would mandate background checks on ammunition purchases and require those selling ammunition to apply for and pay for an “ammunition vendor” license. Such ammunition purchases would also be logged into a database known as the Ammunition Purchase Records File maintained by the Department of Justice and kept for up to two years.

Please contact members of the Assembly Public Safety Committee and ask them to oppose SB 880 and SB 1235.

The Senate Public Safety Committee will consider the following bills:

  • Assembly Bill 1664, similar to SB 880, would redefine “detachable magazine” to include any ammunition feeding device that can be removed without disassembling the firearm action, thereby expanding California’s current assault weapons ban. This measure would unjustifiably ban the future sale of many modern sporting rifles commonly used for hunting, firearms training, including hunter safety training and marksmanship practice.
  • Assembly Bill 1673 would redefine firearm in the California state code to include any “unfinished” receiver or frame that can be “readily converted” to a functional frame or receiver. This proposed language is extremely vague in its definition of what could be considered a frame or receiver.
  • Assembly Bill 1674 would prohibit someone from purchasing more than one firearm in a 30-day period. This would include both handguns and long guns.

Please contact members of the Senate Public Safety Committee and ask them to oppose AB 1664, AB 1673, and AB 1674.

CA is and has been for a long time been run by Communists. Their goal is to remove all guns from law abiding citizens & only allow criminals & the corrupt law enforcement agencies to have guns.

All I can say is to remember this quote from WWII Italian Dictator ….. “The measures adopted to restore public order are 1st of all, the elimination of the so-called subversive elements… on the morrow (the next day) of each conflict I give the categorical order to confiscate the largest possible number of weapons of every sort and kind.” – Benito Mussolini

This act of the California politicians is communism. First they want to make sure that nobody among the civilians can fight back by taking away their guns. Well, that exempt the criminals because they don’t follow the law. And second, another form of taxation so they can forever finance their dole outs to illegals and leaches so they can hold power in eternity. I just would like to let this people know that what comes around goes around. One day the good people of California will wake up to see what’s the real intention behind these acts and so shall… Read more »

Add the early release of supposedly “non violent” criminals, Prop. 47, and it’s a recipe for disaster.
