Easton, WI -(AmmoLand.com)- DEZ Tactical Arms (www.DEZTacticalArms.com) received the Custom AR Gun Manufacturer of the Year Award from the television show History of the Gun.

The company was recognized for its Hand Craftsmanship, Custom Barrels and MOA Accuracy Right Out of the Box.

“We shoot a lot of guns during the course of a year and we were very impressed with the attention to detail, the craftsmanship, engineering and testing that goes into each handcrafted DEZ Tactical AR,” says Bill Rogers, Executive Producer of History of the Gun. “The AR has come a long way since its inception and DEZ Tactical Arms has taken the rifle to the next custom level.”

DEZ Tactical Arms is being featured on the television show History of the Gun. That episode airs this week on the Hunt Channel available on Dish Network. History of the Gun was spun off the television show American Outdoors, the oldest outdoor television show in America. Each week History of the Gun examines an iconic firearm or accessory of the past and see what it has evolved into today.

Back in the day, during the early years of the Vietnam War, a revolutionary new select-fire rifle often referred to simply as the “Black Rifle” was making its debut. First of all, it was lightweight mainly because of the use of aircraft-grade aluminum and plastic in its construction. Secondly, whereas previous generations of infantry rifles fired the powerful .30-’06 Sprg. or 7.62×51 mm NATO cartridges, the M16 was chambered in the 5.56 mm cartridge, a small-caliber, high-velocity cartridge that was thought to be better suited for modern, close-range combat environments.

Despite being heralded as “the best individual infantry weapon ever made” in 1965, the M16 began to exhibit catastrophic problems in 1966. Reports from the field indicated that U.S. troops in Vietnam were experiencing chronic failures. After a long 12 months the Army worked out all of the problems and the M16, which is the military version of the AR15, and it became the favorite weapon of the man on the ground. Fast forward to today and DEZ Tactical Arms is making a custom AR based on the end-users needs and desires.

“We’re very excited to receive this recognition,” says DEZ Tactical Arms President, Brian Zawistowski. “We love our work and it’s a privilege to wake up every morning in a country where our 2nd Amendment rights allow us to make these custom creations.”

A CUSTOM GUN AND A CUSTOM EXPERIENCE

Rogers, who is also a Certified Law Enforcement Armorer, points out that, “I was very impressed with both the finger they have on quality control and the attention to detail they give every gun that they build. From turning their own barrels and receivers, to hand assembly and fitting each and every gun, they have spared no expense in getting it right. After the end-user selects what he wants, a master riflesmith then carefully assembles and fits the rifle with a DEZ Tactical custom barrel. Even after the build is complete, they test for accuracy on their indoor range on a custom table designed to give them the first data on the gun and then it’s out to their long distance range to finish their inspection, testing and firing.”

In addition to a custom build, DEZ Tactical Arms also offers the option for additional customization of the gun with their own in-house laser, great for a custom logo or personalizing it for a gift.

“In our visit to DEZ Tactical Arms, it included time on the range with one of their .308’s, it was an exhilarating experience,” comments Rogers. “Through shooting firearms on our television show, hunting on the weekends and competitive shooting, I’ve spent a lot of time looking down the barrel of a rifle and these DEZ Tactical ARMS AR’s are some of the finest I’ve ever seen. Handcrafted, custom fitted with a custom barrel on a custom range, the result is a tactical rifle that you can drive nails with. The owner of the gun can also arrange to visit the shop on the day of the build and take the journey with the gun from being created in their custom shop to firing it on their own private range. It’s an experience of a lifetime.”

Give me a break!

Using the Vietnam story line is an insult to this of us who ducked AK, and SKS rounds, ate dirt to avoid 82mm mortars and the occasional 122mm rocket, 51mm machine gun fire, RPGs, punji stakes, irate water buffaloes, Chi-com style claymores, booby traps, cobras, fire ants, leaches, scorpions, apes, tigers, and even friendly fire.

Just sell your guns………..no patronization, please!
