Gun Used in Paris Terrorist Attacks Came from Phoenix, AZ

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- One of the guns used in the November 13, 2015 Paris terrorist attacks came from Phoenix, Arizona where the Obama administration allowed criminals to buy thousands of weapons illegally in a deadly and futile “gun-walking” operation known as “Fast and Furious.”

A Report of Investigation (ROI) filed by a case agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) tracked the gun used in the Paris attacks to a Phoenix gun owner who sold it illegally, “off book,” Judicial Watch’s law enforcement sources confirm.

Federal agents tracing the firearm also found the Phoenix gun owner to be in possession of an unregistered fully automatic weapon, according to law enforcement officials with firsthand knowledge of the investigation.

The investigative follow up of the Paris weapon consisted of tracking a paper trail using a 4473 form, which documents a gun’s ownership history by, among other things, using serial numbers.

The Phoenix gun owner that the weapon was traced back to was found to have at least two federal firearms violations—for selling one weapon illegally and possessing an unregistered automatic—but no enforcement or prosecutorial action was taken against the individual.

Instead, ATF leaders went out of their way to keep the information under the radar and ensure that the gun owner’s identity was “kept quiet,” according to law enforcement sources involved with the case.

“Agents were told, in the process of taking the fully auto, not to anger the seller to prevent him from going public,” a veteran law enforcement official told Judicial Watch.

It’s not clear if the agency, which is responsible for cracking down on the illegal use and trafficking of firearms, did this because the individual was involved in the Fast and Furious gun-running scheme. An ATF spokesman, Corey Ray, at the agency’s Washington D.C. headquarters told Judicial Watch that “no firearms used in the Paris attacks have been traced” by the agency. When asked about the ROI report linking the weapon used in Paris to Phoenix, Ray said “I’m not familiar with the report you’re referencing.” Judicial Watch also tried contacting the Phoenix ATF office, but multiple calls were not returned.

The ATF ran the Fast and Furious experiment and actually allowed criminals, “straw purchasers,” working for Mexican drug cartels to buy weapons at federally licensed firearms dealers in Phoenix and allowed the guns to be “walked”—possessed without any knowledge of their whereabouts.

The government lost track of most of the weapons and many have been used to murder hundreds of innocent people as well as a U.S. Border Patrol agent, Brian Terry, in Arizona. A mainstream newspaper reported that a Muslim terrorist who planned to murder attendees of a Muhammad cartoon contest in Garland, Texas last year bought a 9-millimeter pistol at a Phoenix gun shop that participated in the ATF’s Fast and Furious program despite drug and assault charges that should have raised red flags.

Judicial Watch has thoroughly investigated Fast and Furious and has sued the Obama administration for information about the once-secret operation.

The Doggie-Doo promised us a transparent administration, and he has delivered it. One has no problem seeing how corrupt this SOB and his administration is, it is totally transparent. Of coarse he knows that there is no one that will oppose him. The Republicans are beholding only to their campaign contributors, the hell with the people. I just hope that we can get Trump in office with a solid conservative VP and shove it up the a** of these RINO PIGS.

Maluka

Should the families of those killed send a thank you to the ATF and erik holder for their efforts in providing firearms to the less fortunate muslim killers??????

Chuckster

“Mordida” actually translates into “little bite!”

What about the Debby does Dallas operation !!! come on wake up!

Anybody that thinks that Obama’s Fast and Furious was about tracing guns and law enforcement is naïve at best . Obama intends to gut the Constitution at any cost; Fast and Furious was simply a way to put legal guns in the hands of the vicious cartels and terrorists, intending these gun and the terrible toll of violence and death to be ammunition with which to attack gun rights and the Constitution. The plan is still playing out and you can see by some of these posts that it is working. Obama and his administration do not care a lick… Read more »

WTF! Are ou serious? Okay people, wake up and open your eyes and see how truly crooked that Barry Hussein NoBOma is. He should swing from a tree with a nice tight rope around his no good neck!!!

Time to charge B.Soetero and E.Holder as accomplices to murder, 60 counts. Come on French Government put out a warrant for these two!

Mike McAllister

Maybe the world court (sick) should get involved and press charges against POTUS, DOJ, ATF and all others that were involved. They wouldn’t do anything either, but it might get the world to notice how big a POS these ELECTED officials are!!!

Gregory Romeu

The Constitution of the United States of America does not allow for any outside country’s laws to have any effect within our borders.

Geez people? Read and understand the fundamental Basics first before you go running off on tangents?

Raymond Miller

All of this corruption that the Republicans have allowed to take place is the most disturbing thing I can think of. If they had done their job this POS in the White House would have been impeached or at least had some push back. The Republican, leadership ?, has put the American people and our country in grave danger. They are worthless POS them selves and feckless cowards.

Gregory Romeu

Have you ever heard oe the, “Clean hands doctrine”?

We don’t need gun control, we need Obummer control.

This article is a disaster for Judicial Watch as far as I am concerned. Using a pic of an AK from April of 2012 from another news organization in Europe and making it seem as if it is the weapon they speak of in this article is pretty much making the entire story a lie. Tracking (doing a TRACE) a stolen weapon can only be done if there is a paper trail. It starts at the maker or importer and goes forward to the last holder or FFL of the weapon. If this weapon had an import mark or serial… Read more »

Smedley54, I don’t know any responsible gun owner that ‘PLAYS’ with them.

this was all done in secret to gain support for the UN small arms confiscation treaty, but they got caught!!!

Regardless of who you pin the blame on, the moral of this story is “Don’t play with guns! Those things can kill a fella!”

Gene Ralno

In a sane political world, this would mean dismantlement of the BATFE. It’s a paper-pushing, bureaucratic, dangerous mess that does things for which the FBI would be much better suited. But the BATFE has served to carry out dirty, illegal jobs, keeping blame from blue ribbon agencies and the administration. Seems Fast and Furious stepped over the line, even the one established by our charlatan king. Time to rid the nation of this scurrilous bunch by pushing responsibility for alcohol & tobacco back to the states, and leave firearms & explosives to the better educated, trained and experienced FBI agents.… Read more »

why put firearms, illegally meddled with and controlled by FedGov who are NOT TO INFRINGE upon our right to own and use them, onto the FBI? Not even the states can lawfully control firearms, as possession and use of them SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED… and please note well: that document does not limit what or whom might be infringing that should not be so doing. It is FedGov’s burden to assure our right to arms is NOT INFRINGED by anything, or anyone, any time, any place. FedGov have NO PLACE to have anything to do with firearms at any level… Read more »

Interstate and international trafficking of illegal (fully automatic, et al.) firearms is a federal crime and within the FBI’s ambit. Many explosives also need federal investigation from time to time, especially those entering the U.S. in shoes, underwear and vests. States bear the greatest responsibility for ensuring nuts, felons and terrorists are neutered. Perhaps bounties would help. I believe the most effective and least costly way to neuter nuts, felons and terrorists is to arm and train every peaceable, lawful citizen interested in self defense.

Gregory Romeu

The ownership of fully automatic firearms is NOT illegal! As is the ownership of Tanks artillery pieces certain aircraft you just have to have the money in the proper, “permits” in place.

Virtually anything bought and paid for by the American taxpayer can be owned by the American taxpayer.

It amazes me how Society is been so dumbed down through distractions other than their want and thirst to know their rights and liberties?

TEX

@Gregory,you’re absolutely right !

Does this mean we can thank ATF and our commie muslim for supplying the world WITH GUNS? Won’t read this in the DEMOCRATS PARTY PRESS. Thank you to the POS president. We don’t need enemies because we have DEMOCRATS and obama/clinton. I believe this makes the ATF, holder and the muslim libel under the accessory after the fact law therefore file murder charges on all of them. Hey loretta lynch are you listening? What a government we have. Sells guns to catch bad guys and looses track so they end up being use in a terror attack and NOT A SINGLE PERSON IS IN JAIL OR EVEN FIRED!!! But pussy boy Obama want’s to take our legal guns!!!! If this madness is not stopped the US is doomed. I would say we would be the laughing stock of the world, but we already are!

That is not “AK Used in Paris Terrorist Attacks” That is a gun confiscated in Germany in 2012

There is no claim that the pictured AK is an actual weapon recovered in the Paris terrorist attack.

Uh? The caption on the photo of the AK-47 says, “like the one used”…

“Similar” damn I hate that we cannot edit our own comments!

Raymond Miller

No No, it’s the same thing only different. These guns walk around looking for targets, why I had one go by my house the other day, I ran inside and hid in the attic.

Ralphwylie

When the government lies to us it’s called politics. We we lie to the government its called a crime. If citizens illegally sell guns its called “gun running.” When the government does it its called, “Fast and Furious.” How quaint! It’s time to take out the trash in Washington’s “District of Corruption” and elect Donald Trump and also to arrest Hillary Clinton and send her to prison.

Wake_Up_America

Amen my brother! This country is going down the drain at an alarming rate…

Randy White

Now this is the first correct analogy of what’s happening with Our Country. We are going down the drain very fast and I see little if any light at the end of the tunnel! We need to clean house not fight one another.

hippybiker

I have a good friend of mine who was a Mexican Federal Police Officer. His only problem was, he was and is honest. He would not take “The Mordita.”(little touch). So, his own people gunned him down, but he survived. That’s Mexico, and if the powers that be have their way, it will be that way here. And, for a real ironic twist, his identity was stolen by an illegal alien from Guatamala.

Chuckster

Mordida, actually translates into “little bite”!

Why would a dealer making an illegal sale bother with a 4473 form? With 75 million AK rifles manufactured in Europe and Asia, why would they smuggle a civilian semiauto AK out of the USA and into Europe? The whole story seems to be just another obama plot to justify more restrictions on FFLs. Fast and Furious was not intended to track guns used by the Mexican cartels. It was intended to show the retail FFLs were a supplier of guns to the Mexican cartels. In order to do that a gun had to be left at the crime scene… Read more »

Our Administration is as corrupt as México’s or any Middle Eastern one. And, of course, México is the safest country in North America, since center-fire firearms are strictly forbidden…lol

Tionico

its likely the sale was mae using the 4473 to make it appear at first glance a legal one. I’m guessing there were some “anomalies” in the buyer’s identification documents, and the nature of those was not fully reported on the 4473. Any FFL is REQUIRED to log any “disposition” (sale or transfer) in his A&D book to be retained for BATF for 20 years. By “fudging” with the documentation, the sale would appear on the face of it to be legal….. and match with the Disposition record in the A&D log. It would take, as has happened here, a… Read more »

A 4473 was used to have evidence on the US Citizen that was going to move the weapons to Mexico. Got to have evidence that it was illegal straw purchase and exportation. This was done to make more snitches like the gun dealer snitch that was used.

jim

Does this keep the BATFE “necessary and pertinent”? or does it suggest that there is no need for this branch of LE? I’m going to go with the latter as it seems they are not engaged in LE but rather in political chicanery.

Tionico

Good points… and since there is NO Constitutional authority for FedGov to manage, track, regulate, control, tax, account for, or infringe upon the ownership or use of firearms, BATF are as useful as a cancerous teat on an ancient boar hog. End that, and a pile of other Alphabet Soup agencies that suck dry out tax dollars, create criminals out of thin air, restrict/eliminiate our God-given rights, introduce illegal activities, and generally are worse than a waste.

Randy

Death Toll rises with “Fast and Furious” debacle another Policy Fail by Obama. Sadly, the Whistle Blower is shamed and the rest go Free. We have thousands of Dead People.

Lloyd

I’m no fan of Ofuckus, but Fast & Furious started under Bush so report accurately or you just defeat our battle for our Rights. Provide date of purchase to substantiate a claim it’s just Obama/Holder as I find Bush/Cheney as just as accountable for letting the operation start in the first place. Tar and feather them all!!!!!!!

Bugler

Fast and Furious did not start under the Bush administration.

A gun-walking operation called “Linebacker” was conducted during the Bush administration, but it wasn’t like Fast and Furious. Linebacker was conducted with the cooperation of Mexican authorities. All of the guns involved were recovered.

Fast and Furious was conducted without even informing Mexican authorities. Thus far, the guns involved have been used in at least 300 murders. Many of the guns are still unaccounted for.

Your President is a criminal.

Colonialgirl

The BUSH GUNS ALSO had RFID trackers embedded in the stocks; When the cartels discovered this, the Program ended.

Tionico

Gunwalker/Fast and Furious was implemented in order to supply the Sinaloa Cartel of Norhtern Mexico with abundant and sophisticated arms to strengthen them in their turf war with the other major Mexican cartels. WHY? Simple…. our FedGov boys have strong contacts and relationships with the operators in charge of Sinaloa. It is via the Sinaloa cartel most of the drugs entering the US come here, and our FedGov boys tend to profit heavily in a number of ways when drugs some across into the US. By “keeping it in the family” they tend to not only profit well, but retain… Read more »

Who really knows the truth? At 64, I started online college courses. I do not like what I see going in the country I served 13 years; Vietnam at 19, there I could see that the USA was heading towards a bad end. As a Nation, we are doomed! We don’t learn anything from our mistakes, just one really stupid country. I walk around wearing a cap, “Vietnam Veteran”, the number of people who say something! Vanns40

Wrong, it didn’t start under Bush. That was an entirely different and separate program called Wide Receiver that ended a full two years before Obama came into office.

Bugler

You’re right, Vanns40. It was Wide Receiver, not Linebacker.

Kevin

YOU are the one who is uninformed. The Bush operation was done in cooperation with the Mexican Gov’t, in an attempt to to track drug dealers. It was cancelled when Mexican Officials didn’t hold up their end.

The Obama/Holder operation was done with the specific goal of putting illegal weapons into the hands of Mexican drug gangs. When those weapons starting showing up at crime scenes, the plan was to use that as justification to confiscate all firearms from AMERICAN citizens

Quit trying to blow smoke up our associates, and admit you are really an Obama voter.

Gregory Romeu

It doesn’t matter where it started it continued under OhDumbasses watch. And if you didn pay that close attention you would know that there were five such operations at the time and it was all politically word-smithed down just to the one operation Fast and Furious.

Vanns40

Not true. You can’t continue something that had been stopped, especially when it was stopped for two years before Fast & Furious ever began. Stop trying to conflate the two and start looking at historical timelines.

Gregory Romeu

I was using speech to text and of course this system doesn’t give us a chance to edit before we publish. I did not intend to imply that Bush’s operations were in any way in full operation over onto the Obama Administration. Bush’s operations were complete before he left office. However if you look back at the news during 2009 when it started coming out there were five such operations, Gun Walker, Gunrunner. Fast and Furious, Operation Seven Seas? or something like that down in the Caribbean and there was another one. I was reading about all five of those… Read more »

Good rebuttals by Bugler and ColonialGirl.

Gerard Johnson

You are exactly right. Obama inherited fast and furious from the Bush administration. But do you expect a conservative organization to tell the truth? It’s the same BS they’ve been peddling about the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. They conveniently forget that it was Bush who signed the withdrawal agreement. Obama simply carried out the terms of that agreement

GomeznSA

Gerard Johnson you are totally wrong – “Obama inherited fast and furious from the Bush administration” is a flat out LIE. It is continually being used by the left to try to deflect the sole and total responsibility for the criminal debacle that was and is F&F. The ONLY similarities between the two operations is that there were guns involved. Bush’s program had many oversight/control pieces in place (like RFID trackers) AND was shut down as soon as the ‘bad guys’ figured out what was going on. One of their tactics was to simply wait until the batteries for the… Read more »

We all know the Republicans will do nothing to stop the illegal happenings coming out of Washington every day. That has been proven time and time again. They like to say it cost them the next election after they convicted slick willie. If they have been there over two terms, kick them to the curb. If the have gotten older than 70 while in office, kick them to the curb.
To reply to your post, it is obvious Ryan doesn’t have the balls.

Paul Ryan doesn’t have the guts to do anything to Obama, even if Obama himself would have the manliness and guts to use an illegal AK-47 in the house and gun down 1/3 rd of the house! Ryan would just whimper and wring his hands.
