College Station, TX -(AmmoLand.com)- Horizon Firearms and iota announced today the addition of Katherine Rice as Director of Marketing.

Rice will be working out of her Eugene, Oregon office and assumes the newly created role with responsibility for the development and day-to-day marketing operations of both brands.

“We are excited to bring Katherine on board. This is a big step for our companies as we strive to bring innovative and customer-centered products to market,” said Derrick Ratliff, President of Horizon Firearms and iota, “I feel like Katherine was the perfect hire for where we want to take the brands in the future.”

Rice holds a business administration degree, with a marketing concentration, from the University of Oregon. Rice’s career spans more than 10 years; including nearly six years in the hunting industry as Bowtech Archery’s marketing coordinator, and serving as S4Gear’s marketing manager prior to its sale to Field Logic in 2012. Most recently her time has been spent in the tech industry.

“My time at Bowtech and S4Gear ignited my love of the industry and provided me with invaluable industry knowledge,” commented Rice. “But my time spent in the tech industry provided me with skills and experience I would have never received otherwise. I’m looking forward to putting that combination to use to help grow these brands.”

Rice continued, “I’ve dreamed of rejoining the hunting and outdoor industry since the day I left, so I am thrilled to be back.”
