Kingsport, Tenn.–-(Ammoland.com)- The new Schrade Sure-Lock folding knife, model SCH503, combines light-weight styling with top-quality materials and superior design to create a tough, dependable and classy-looking knife for pocket, belt or compartment.
The SCH503’s opened length is 8.5 inches; blade length is 3.64 inches. The high quality AUS-8 high-carbon stainless steel drop point blade comes sharp and is designed to hold an edge, but also to re-sharpen easily.
The knife’s ergonomic handle is built to fit all hand sizes. Handle construction is super-tough aluminum and incorporates non-slip rubber inserts in strategic locations to enhance comfort and grip. The blade has ambidextrous thumb knobs and thumb ramp jimping. Other features include a streamlined, tight-grip pocket clip and a lanyard hole for optional lanyard.
The knife’s proprietary Schrade Sure-Lock system provides a rock-solid locking mechanism to keep the blade firmly in place and withstand at least 300 pounds of force, which is considered to be among the industry’s highest force ratings for folding knives.
The Sure-Lock system’s disengagement slide activator is conveniently located on the blade end of the handle’s left side to allow for easy one-hand release with a swipe of the thumb, yet remains totally safe and locked until the user engages it.
The design affords easy one-hand operation of opening and closing the knife.
The SCH503 is available in three models, SCH503, SCH503B and SCH503RB, each varying by color. The SCH503 has a silver aluminum finish and black rubber inserts. Model SCH503B is a smoke color aluminum handle with dark gray rubber inserts. Model SCH503RB is black anodized aluminum with red rubber inserts.
All SCH503 models are true to Schrade’s reputation for innovative designs and the latest in materials and components. Each is a super-tough locking folding knife with no blade play when locked open (and passes the “spine wack test”).
