Ottawa, Ontario-(Ammoland.com)- As part of Canada’s commitment to transparency and rigour in export controls, the Honourable Stéphane Dion, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of International Trade, today announced plans to accede to the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).

The government announced new measures that will allow Canada to demonstrate compliance with the ATT while enhancing Canada’s already robust export controls. These include new legislative amendments to regulate arms brokering, measures to formalize the assessment criteria used by the minister of foreign affairs in making export permit decisions, and other measures to increase transparency.

Minister Dion has now tabled the Arms Trade Treaty in Parliament. In addition, the Minister tabled the 2014 and 2015 reports on exports of military goods from Canada and the 2014 and 2015 annual reports to Parliament on the administration of the Export and Import Permits Act. At the government’s request, reports are already clearer than was the case in the past. The government intends to go further by working with industry and NGOs to inject even more transparency and rigour into how they are compiled and presented.

I want America out of the UN, and the UN out of America. The UN reminds me of the nosey neighbor who was always asking, “Where have you been?”, or “What did you buy?”, “What did you want that for?”. My answer to all of the UN questions and information gathering .. IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS !!! We fought a revolution so as not to be told what to do. It seems that now our “leaders” want to return to being the bastard child of oppression. Not me, not now, not ever.

Will the Canadians be willing to take the UN off our hands ? They certainly have worn out their welcome here.

Unlike the US under Obutthole and Holder who used Fast and Furious to send guns to terrorists while trying to disarm the US. One of the F&F rifles, an AK type semi-auto used in the Paris attacks. The UN and their treaty both suck big time but this criminal administration makes the UN look like the church choir.

Socialist Canadian,, no surprises there. Why we packed our guns and left for good. Be careful American Obama wants you to be next. Maybe next I’ll have to learn to speak Spanish because everybody seams to have guns down there despite laws and treaties. Oh that’s right Obama sold the fully automatic weapons during fast and Furious.

Well, looks like our neighbors to the north are succumbing to the world order where the elite/rich will be the ones with guns and everyone else will get to do as they are instructed. What a shame.
