USA –  -(Ammoland.com)- After the Orlando night club shooting it seems many in the LGBT community are now split on what to do about guns in American?

Work to ban them or embrace them as the lifesaving self defense tools that are firearms.

Two recent events highlighted the split:

LGBT Community Floods Free Firearms Training Classes in Texas :

In Texas where many LGBT persons are probably more familiar and comfortable around firearms, there was a flood of new students to take FREE firearms training classes at the Shiloh Shooting Range in northwest Houston. 1000’s have now taken the courses, many of those students have now bought new guns and gun gear after the great first shots experience and safety training.

Jeff Sanford, General Manager of the Shiloh Shooting Range, said it best when he said, “As gun owners and gun advocates, this is truly a golden opportunity to gain a very passionate group of 2nd Amendment advocates with open arms.”

The Shiloh Shooting Range has committed to continue to offer the free firearms classes as long as the demand exist.

Contrast much more gun unfriendly, New York City, where most residents have never seen a gun accept on TV or on the belt of a police officer. On Monday a dozen gay activists have begun a campaign of civil disobedience against gun companies and their investors by holding a “die-in” at the headquarters of BlackRock, one of the largest corporate shareholders of gun companies’ stock.

Holding placards bearing photos of some of the victims of mass murders and gang violence, protesters occupied the lobby of BlackRock’s headquarters in midtown Manhattan for almost an hour on Monday afternoon demanding that the investment firm divest from gun stocks.

The group protesting is called GAG or Gays Against Guns. Organizers of the GAG collective, which claims more than 300 members in New York and chapters in nine other cities across the country, said their next targets would be companies that partner with the National Rifle Association (NRA).

The irony is that the NRA stands and fights for all civil rights for all Americans including those in the LGBT community.  American gun owners, many former and current military, have risked their lives and died defending the rights of all patriotic LGBT Americans.

Lets hope our LGBT friends reach across the divide and embrace the pro gun community, many already have and we welcome many more.

All people deserve the right to be self protected. Number 1 to protect is you and no one cares as much for you as you. It is not up to politicians to decide what priority our safety should be or what tools we keep to stay safe.

We, the gun community, need to make alliances. The LBGT people need friends, too, so when the Libs start importing thousands of gay hating muslims, it’s only natural that we forge an alliance. In the modern Western world gays enjoy a great amount of freedom and rights, so if they want to preserve those rights, they need to conserve our society, not change it to something Sharia compliant. To our new gay friends I say welcome, vote for Trump, and we’ll get along fine if we just peacefully mind our own business and not look for things that we differ… Read more »

Maybe opening up to our gay brothers and sisters is the way to bring them to our side? Ever think that being armed might stop attacks on gays in public or maybe it could have stopped or lessened the carnage in Orlando? It WOULD! See, we have an obligation… just as educating a liberal… to educate ALL on guns and the right of self-defense. While the ratio might be 1:10 now, within a decade we could turn this to 10:1.
Remember, the only thing that will stop ignorance is education.
Think on that.

THE 2ND AMENDMENT IS FOR EVERY AMERICAN CITIZEN. THERE IS NO DISCRIMINATORY LANGUAGE. I HAVEN’T FOUND ANYTHING IN OUR CONSTITUTION THAT SAYS AN UNARMED DEATH IS A GLORIOUS THING TO ASPIRE FOR. LGBT’RS WANT TO BE PART OF THE FABRIC OF AMERICAN SOCIETY, SPENDING TIME AT THE GUN RANGE IS A GOOD PLACE TO START. WE, EVE.RY SINGLE ONE OF US, ARE EQUAL THERE

It is totally sane to blame the inanimate object for its abuse. After Streleski murdered his teacher with a hammer, I was shocked that we didn’t have to register them, or wait 15 days to purchase one. The same goes for knives, baseball bats, and cars too. Apparently, our sanity only applies to one particular inanimate object, and not the thousands of other objects that can be abused to kill someone. Now that’s sane!

Almost funny –
“Holding placards bearing photos of some of the victims of mass murders and gang violence”
The same thing would be considered a good reason to be armed and ready to defend yourself…

Almost ironic

Gene Ralno

Ironic it is. Leftists cannot have it both ways. On one hand, they howl about danger. On the other, they try to disarm those in danger. It’s not only ironic, it’s irrational.

Unfortunately, the LGBTQQ community will be viewed by Hillary and her cronies as mental defectives and would be excluded from firearm ownership through her enhanced background checks. I believe the NRA should encourage LGBT membership and self defense education for their community before it becomes too late for them.
