Virginia – -(Ammoland.com)- At the hearing on Wednesday, three people spoke in favor of banning guns in state agencies, and everyone else (over 30 speakers and many others who chose to attend, but not to actually speak) opposed the measure.
The response online has been overwhelming – 98% of the comments oppose the ban and a mere 2% support it. When something is that lopsided, the game should pretty much be over. But, of course, the Department of General Services (DGS) and the Governor will probably ignore that massive elephant it the room. And we will not go quietly into the night.
As more and more people comment on the proposal, (commenting continues for another month or so) DGS and the Governor will look more foolish and tyrannical by ignoring the will of the People and the will of the General Assembly.
Gun owners adding their comments in opposition to this travesty needs to continue, as it will make getting the ban removed at the General Assembly level and/or by a future governor much easier.
Virginia State Senator Tom Garrett, who is running for Congress, challenged DGS to show a single case where a permit holder in Virginia or anywhere else in America has shot up a government office.

This article is excellent and confirms, yet again, what VCDL has been saying. If a CHP holder carries into a state agency, it is NOT a violation of law, but is merely breaking the Governor’s POLICY. If the CHP holder’s gun is seen (shame on them), then they may be asked to leave. If they refuse to leave, they can then be charged with trespass.

NBC 12 made it sound like its a battle, 20 people showed up, and they made it sound like it was half and half. Im with the other guy I wish the media would stop being politician and choosing what side they want, after all wasnt an NBC employee who killed those people in Roanoke, they knew this guy was dangerous and they did nothing, in my mind they are responsible for those deaths. I love being involved, but was unable to make the meeting, I am still member of VCDL who is the group pushing back against the governor.
And the news media, based on the attached clip, reports in a very biased manner against what the statistics show. 2 of 3 people shown speaking were in support of the ban. The image of the website showed several “ban guns” comments. And yet that is only 2% of the comments? I’d be more in favor of banning the major networks from public buildings… they do much more damage and harm than handguns do.
In my opinion I think any government official who goes against the majority of the people in there state should be fired, impeached or what ever out of office no questions asked. They are not working for the people of there state they are working for them selves. I also believe to that there are lots of gun ban signs on building and offices that are illegal. I think they just get them put them on there building cause they know that most people really do not know which building are suppose to be posted and which ones are not.… Read more »
Someone please ask our esteemed Governor to site any action by any CWP holder that harmed anyone inside a state government building. These people are probably the most law abiding citizens in our community.
