The Smith & Wesson sponsorship consists of 12,500 sets of Smith & Wesson branded shooting glasses and 12,500 sets of foam earplugs.

Women On Target is an NRA program that offers instructional clinics designed to teach women firearm safety and the fundamentals of marksmanship. Available only to women, these half- and full-day clinics provide a safe and friendly environment for the novice and experienced alike, with hands-on expert instruction. No equipment or experience is necessary to participate.

Participation in NRA’s Women On Target is expected to total over 10,000 women in 2017. For many of these women this will be their first firearms training experience. Along with firearms safety training and marksmanship, these women will be taught the importance of eye and hearing protection for shooters that will be made possible in part thanks to the generous support of Smith & Wesson. Every woman who attends an Instructional Shooting Clinic will receive world-class training from NRA instructors and world-class eye and hearing protection from Smith & Wesson.

Managing Director of NRA’s Education and Training division, Bill Poole stated: “We are thrilled and grateful to have Smith & Wesson again participating in Women On Target with a renewed vigor. Their generous donation allows us to implement even more clinics for women who wish to learn how to safely handle and shoot a firearm with confidence. This is a big step in expanding programming for women.”
