Titusville , FL – -(Ammoland.com)-“The Christmas terror attacks by militant Islamists show that Americans need national reciprocity for the carrying of concealed firearms,” gun dean John M. Snyder said here today.

“Recent Islamist violent criminal incidents in Europe and the United States demonstrate quite clearly that decent, law-abiding people must have the right and ability to acquire and carry guns to defend their lives and the lives of loved ones against these Muslim terrorists,” he added.

“Right now,” he said, “international focus is on the Berlin truck bomb attack the other day, as it was just last month on the knife attack in Ohio. It is a real problem and civilized people have to deal with it.

“It does no good to bury your head in the sand, as some European politicians are doing by trying to make gun laws more and more restrictive. Rather, smart politicians have to realize that it is only by facilitating the right of people to get guns for self-defense that the problem effectively may be resolved.”

Snyder’s original Christmas card this year reflects this reality. It depicts a pistol packing Santa Claus standing in front of the White House. He carries a “God Bless America” sign. Santa’s handgun appears in a holster below Santa’s right waist. The message wishes recipients, “Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Making Our USA Great Again!”

Snyder noted last month that, “the Ohio State University knifing is the latest in a series of bloody terrorist attacks on United States soil in 18 months. These violent incidents show Americans need national reciprocity for the carrying of concealed firearms.”

In the November 28, 2016 case, “Abdul Ari Artan tried to run over a crowd of helpless students at Ohio State University, and then got out of his car and slashed as many as he could with a butcher knife,” reported World Net Daily (WND). A police officer shot Artan dead.

“As WND indicated, all of the eight bloody attacks have been committed by Muslim immigrants or their sons,” said Snyder.

Among the attacks were the Chattanooga mass shooting at a Navy recruitment center in July 2015, the San Bernardino shooting leaving 14 dead and several wounded in December 2015, and the Orlando nightclub shooting leaving 49 dead and 53 wounded in June 2016.

The dozens of previous domestic Islamist terrorist attacks include the May 2009 Ft. Hood, Texas gunning down of 13 unarmed soldiers by a Muslim psychiatrist, and the September 2014 Moore, Oklahoma beheading of a woman by a Sharia advocate after calling for Islamic terror and posting an Islamist beheading photo.

“We are at war with radical Islamic terrorism,” Snyder stated. “Individual Americans need guns for defense against Islamists and other violent perpetrators. We need national reciprocity for concealed gun carry.”

A positive state CCW or concealed carry policy enables a qualified individual to carry a particular concealed firearm within his or her state of jurisdiction if legally permitted to do so. With national reciprocity, a state-issued CCW permit would be honored throughout the country, similar to the way in which state-issued driving permits now are honored throughout the country.

“In a survey of United States police chiefs and sheriffs conducted this year by the National Association of Chiefs of Police, over 86 percent said they supported nationwide recognition of state issued concealed weapons permits,” Snyder noted.

“The time for national reciprocity for concealed carry has come,” Snyder continued. “With pro-gun Republican Donald Trump taking office as president next month and with Republicans in charge of both houses of Congress, proponents of the individual Second Amendment civil right to keep and bear arms can and should advance the American freedom agenda.

“In addition to fostering national reciprocity for concealed weapon carry, Washington now should slash the law enforcement funding of cities and states following policies contrary to the spirit of the Second Amendment, and repeal federal laws interfering with Second Amendment liberties.”

Never let a crisis go to waste! Especially if it gives the government an upper hand to grab control of our individual Right of self defense and dictate who can exercise that Right! The House Bill that will be presented to the 114th Congress in a Trump Administration must be amended to say,

“HR 404 Title 18 United States Code, to provide a National Standard in accordance with which any person regardless of which state is their permanent residence, who has a valid carry permit issued by any state, may carry a concealed firearm in all states.”

With national reciprocity, a state-issued CCW permit would be honored throughout the country, this might be an acceptable beginning, but falls far short of what is necessary and urgent. WHAT ABOUT those states that “allow” concealed carry without the burden of seeking Mommy’s Permission and getting the Mother May I Card? HOW will residents of those states be treated when visiting, say, New Jersey or New York City?
