WEST HARTFORD, Conn.-(Ammoland.com)- Colt continues to update and upgrade its product line with the release of the newly updated Combat Commander.

Designed for the 1911 enthusiast who wants something more compact for concealed carry, the Combat Commander now features the same upgraded ergonomics as the Colt Lightweight Commander and Colt Competition Pistol.

“The Combat Commander has always been a great carry firearm for self defense,” said Justin Baldini, Product Director for Colt. “What differentiates this updated model from its predecessor are the great features we’ve been rolling out on much of our line that shooters really enjoy. The new Combat Commander features an upswept beavertail grip safety and undercut trigger guard to allow users to get good purchase on the grip, and our great Colt G10 grips. Felt recoil is lessened by our Dual Spring Recoil System, which aids in shot recovery, keeping you on target in those critical moments. All that with a 4.25” barrel, which is .75” shorter than a standard Government Model.”

The newly redesigned Combat Commander features blued carbon steel construction, wide angled cocking serrations and Novak LoMount sights. It is available in 9mm (O4942XE) and .45 ACP (O4940XE), and has an MSPR of $949.
