Kansas-(Ammoland.com)- This Wednesday, February 1st at 9:00 a.m. the Kansas House Federal and State Affairs Committee will hear testimony on House Bill 2074. HB 2074 seeks to repeal current Kansas law that would allow law-abiding individuals to carry a concealed firearm on college campuses for self-defense if the public university chooses not to provide adequate security.

The KSRA opposes this serious attack on our right to defend ourselves and asking anyone who enters a college campus to surrender that right to unknown security personnel.

Come out this Wednesday and tell your legislators that law-abiding Kansans who attend an institution of higher education deserve the same right to self-defense they are afforded off-campus.

We need your voice. We need your participation. We need you, the citizens of Kansas to stand up and make your voice heard.
PLEASE email us if you are attending: mailto:[email protected]

There are going to have to be a lot of “LOCK BOXES” at points of entry into the previous “NO GUN/WEAPONS ZONES” as persons can walk-in, put their weapons in the lock boxes and then enter the buildings for Courts, etc after going through a check point detection system. Security personnel are going to have to be hired as well as the agency that is responsible for the “INNER NO WEAPONS ZONE” is going to have to be responsible for the Safety and Welfare of all person in the “SAFE ZONES” of the building and that does not mean carded… Read more »

Education and stupidity go hand in hand. Nope gun free zone sign has and will continue to stop murdering minded people in their tracks every time. Just as the families of the dead people, that were told to not to carry a gun (AKA GUN FREE ZONE)

Obviously the “NO CARRY” sign carrying fools think that a perp will NOT carry or use it if there is a rule/law saying he or she cannot legally do so. They must think that a couple office or guard box sitting campus cops will stop someone instantly. The person(s) sitting next to them carrying LEGALLY will in reality be there before ANY campus cop……….. FACT !

It’s like I like to say — “What’s dumber than bringing a knife to a gunfight? … ANSWER: bringing a (gun-free zone) sign to a gunfight.” The problem is that they would also force every other law-abiding citizen to do the same, and as we know, criminals by definition don’t play by the rules. These anti-gun liberals don’t even qualify for the description that there’s a light on, but nobody’s home. They don’t even have a light on.

Even if we stop the bill and retain the current law the Board of Regents has created “rules” that don’t permit carrying a weapon ready for immediate self-defense. The Supreme Court of the United States in the HELLER case ruled that laws that did not allow being ready for self-defense were unconstitutional. The Kansas Article 4 revised in 2010 reads. “§ 4. Individual right to bear arms; armies. A person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family, home and state, for lawful hunting and recreational use, and for any other lawful purpose; but… Read more »
