COTTONWOOD, Ariz. -(Ammoland.com)- LaserLyte, innovators in firearms laser technologies, proudly continues to support law enforcement and training with their support of several Criminal Justice classes at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK).

College students in courses instructed by Professor Joe Carlson, Ph.D., use LaserLyte Laser Trainers and Targets in the classroom to study police reaction times in life threatening situations.

Evidence shows police have approximately 1.5 seconds to decide to shoot or not to shoot when confronted by an assailant at 21 feet or less.

Equipped with LaserLyte Trainers and Targets, college students got to see first hand if they were able to make the tough decision to use deadly force or not.

According to Professor Carlson, “The students were excited with the Use of Force exercise and learned more than they could have by just reading about it.”

In fact, some students had never fired a real pistol before, making LaserLyte Laser Trainers the perfect way to safely introduce a firearm into real-world scenarios.

“The students’ comments after the exercise were overwhelmingly positive, and they recommended continued use of them in other classes,” Carlson said.

LaserLyte proudly supports classroom-based instruction for police, military, and concealed carry training to study the fundamentals of force-on-force encounters in life-threatening scenarios.
