NORTH HAVEN, Conn. -(Ammoland.com)- Mossberg’s ground-breaking series of MVP Varmint and Predator bolt-action rifles has been updated and expanded for 2017.

Now all models include suppressor-ready, threaded barrels; feature 18.5-inch (Predator) and 24-inch (Varmint) barrel lengths with a medium bull barrel contour; are available in the highly sought-after 6.5mm Creedmoor (Predator only; 20-inch barrel length) chambering as well as venerable favorites – 204 Ruger (Varmint only), 5.56mm NATO/223 Rem and 7.62mm NATO/308 Win; and are offered in premium Vortex-Scoped combo packages.

Six new models join the MVP Varmint Series and four versions are added to the MVP Predator Series.

Defined by their innovative design, the Mossberg MVP Series of Varmint and Predator rifles feature three patented designs, which allow for the use of AR15-style magazines (204 Ruger and 5.56mm NATO/223 Rem) and the use of both M1A/M14 and AR10-style magazines (6.5mm Creedmoor and 7.62mm NATO/308 Win); a first in bolt-action rifles.

All MVP Series rifles also feature Mossberg’s patented Lightning Bolt-Action (LBA) Trigger System which provides for a creep-free, crisp trigger pull and is user-adjustable from 3 to 8 lbs. The threaded barrels are standard ½”-28 threads per inch (TPI) for 204 Ruger and 5.56mm NATO/223 Rem chamberings and 5/8”-24TPI for the 6.5mm Creedmoor and 7.62mm NATO/308 Win offerings for ease of adding a sound-dampening suppressor. Thread cap is included.

MVP Series Varmint Rifles – Standard features include gray laminate, benchrest-style stock with an ergonomically-designed pistol grip and palm swell. Stippling on the forend and pistol grip provide for positive hand placement in any weather condition, while the deeply-relieved area behind the pistol grip increases wrist and forearm comfort during long shooting sessions.

The comb is parallel to the bore centerline to eliminate parallax errors. The wide, flat-bottom forend is perfect for sandbag rests or bipod use. The 24-inch medium bull barrel is fluted as is the bolt; and all metalwork features a matte blue finish. Completing the package are sling swivel studs, factory-installed Weaver-style scope bases and 10-round magazines.

Scoped packages include an adjustable bipod and the Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x44mm variable riflescope with Dead-Hold BDC reticle. This series includes six new models, chambered in 204 Ruger, 5.56mm NATO/223 Rem and 7.62mm NATO/308 Win.

MVP Series Predator Rifles – These more compact rifles feature a gray laminate, sporter-style stock with stippling on the forend and pistol grip, combined with an 18.5-inch medium bull barrel (20-inch barrel length for 6.5mm Creedmoor) for the hunter on the move. The barrel and bolt are fluted which adds to overall weight reduction.

Metalwork wears a complementing matte blue finish. Other standard features include sling swivel studs, factory-installed Weaver-style scope bases and 10-round magazine. Scoped versions include the Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40mm variable riflescope with Dead-Hold BDC reticle.

Four new models of the MVP Predator are available in 5.56mm NATO/223 Rem, 6.5mm Creedmoor and 7.62mm NATO/308 Win.

The Crossfire II variable riflescope series features Vortex’s Dead-Hold Bullet Drop Compensation (BDC) reticle to take the guesswork out of holdover and adjustments for wind, making this scope the ideal choice for varying ranges in the field or at the range.

Whether you are a long-range shooter or looking for a handy rifle to take afield, the versatile Mossberg MVP Series of Varmint and Predator rifles has a model to meet your needs.
