Wyoming-(Ammoland.com)- We have “Breaking News” from the Wyoming Capitol. Just moments ago, both gun bills — HB136 and HB137 — “Campus Carry” and “Repeal Gun Free Zones” legislation passed through the House Judiciary Committee!

In a vote of 6-3, “Campus Carry” passed, and in a vote of 8-1, “Repeal Gun Free Zones” passed through committee.

We’d like to thank Representative Bo Biteman, for being our lead sponsor on these effort, and pro-gun powerhouse Senator Anthony Bouchard, who also testified on behalf of these bills.

This was not easy.

You should know that multiple legislators, who are supposed to be “our guys,” voted against your gun rights today. With anti-gun legislators in BOTH parties, it just goes to show that the Second Amendment isn’t a partisan issue here in Wyoming, and why your continued grassroots pressure is essential.

The next step will be a full vote on the House floor, and Representative Biteman tells us this could happen as early as TOMORROW — certainly this week.

We need you to call your legislator right away and insist that he get behind these bills! I’ll give the contact info below.

Please take action IMMEDIATELY.

With pressure mounting to kill these bills on all sides – and with some of the ‘pro-gun’ legislators betraying us in committee — we can’t take anything for granted. The committee room was packed with anti-gun organizations and lobbyists, all bent on eroding our freedoms.

You see, there are already loud voices in Cheyenne who are advocating against your gun rights, as always.

And of course, already the liberal media is attacking these bills saying that they’re “too extreme.”

And anti-gun advocates — no doubt backed by NYC BILLIONAIRE Michael Bloomberg — are undoubtedly going to be working against us in the State Capitol.

I don’t know about you, but the idea of a billionaire who lives almost 2000 miles away from Wyoming trying to put limits on our Second Amendment freedoms makes me downright angry! But for all of his money, Bloomberg’s bark will always be worse than his bite — as long as the members of Wyoming Gun Owners keep the pressure up here in Cheyenne.

You see, you and I live here. We vote here. And we’re active in campaigns right here!

What really matters in Cheyenne, what really gets their attention in the Capitol, is phone calls and emails from their districts!

That’s why I need you to pick up the phone and call your Representative right now — and insist he support HB 136 AND HB 137!

(Not sure who your representative is? Click here to find out.)

  • You can call the House switchboard and they’ll connect you automatically based on your address. The number to call is (866)-996-8683.
  • You can also email your legislator, a list of their emails can be seen here.
  • Of course, most of them are on Facebook and can receive messages. So feel free to send them a message that way, too.

Better yet, do all of the above! Once you have, please immediately send this message to your friends and family and urge them to do the same thing.

Finally, it’s important to note that Wyoming Gun Owners was the only gun rights group on the ground today.

Not one other gun rights organization came out in support of our Second Amendment rights. Not. One.

But we’re not surprised. You see, we’re not run by some board of directors 1000 miles away. We’re the only organization that has boots on the ground — around the clock — fighting for your Second Amendment rights.

If you appreciate that kind of constant, determined defense of the Second Amendment — then please renew your membership with Wyoming Gun Owners and join us in this fight.

Simply put, we need to be able to mobilize people by mail, email, Facebook — and we need to do it fast. That’s why your renewed membership in Wyoming Gun Owners is so important!

I’m not sure what you can afford, some members have already renewed at the $125 membership level. For others, I know that $75, $50 or even $35 represents a true sacrifice. Whatever amount you can renew or join at today, please just act fast.

Please act fast, things are moving quickly here in Cheyenne and we need to maintain the pressure!!

P.S. Our “Campus Carry” and “Repeal Gun Free Zones” bills passed out of committee today and Representative Biteman says they will likely go to the floor for a full vote as early as TOMORROW!

We need each and every Wyoming gun owner to call their Representative and encourage them to pass HB 136 and HB 137 with no weakening amendments! Their contact information is posted above.

Once you have, please immediately send this message to your friends and family and urge them to do the same thing!

And if you can, please renew your membership at the $125, $75, or $35 level, to help us work through the night to rally as many gun owners as possible before the vote tomorrow!

Thank you for standing with us and we’ll have more updates soon!

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t one of those bills give the school administrations the freedom to decide that they will remain a gun free zone, like the last bill that came up advocating getting rid of gun free zones? That was a sop to the liberals in order to make it easier to pass, but it failed anyway. Gun free zones are killing fields, and the idiot or idiots who got that started should have been in one of those killing fields when a deranged killer came calling…

The amendments put in the last time were from liberals that hate guns, and WYGO killed it because it would not have done anything to help protect people. These new bills are closer to the original ones where it will not be up to some liberal sop whether or not a weapon can be carried. This is why I for one have gone on the offensive, and called them carnage backers.

If they don’t pass, the next bill should be to post “Protection Free Zone” signs wherever the GFZs are. Call them what they are.

All too often the NRA decides to disappear on gun legislation because they dont want to deal with with the perceived politics of doing away with GFZ’s. They are ok with GFZ’s if it supports their views, but their views do not support what we are wanting with 2A legislation.

People in Wyoming, write or call your legislator to make this happen. The only thing a GFZ is , is a target rich environment. Thats all it is.

The last time around they just bailed on Gun owners. A badly watered down version ended up going to the floor and WYGO killed it.

This time around when I contacted committee members, and emailed Mike Madden, my representative. I called people for what they are. If you vote against these bills you vote for carnage and massacre. There is no way around that fact.
