Texas-(Ammoland.com)- Knife Rights’ Texas Knife Law Reform Bill, HB 1935, that would repeal the ban on all “illegal knives” in Texas statutes, has been introduced by Representative John Frullo.

HB 1935 would complete Knife Rights’ efforts to bring knife freedom to Texas by removing entirely the definition of “illegal knife” in Section 46.01(6) of the Penal Code. This includes the prohibition on double edge blades, Bowie knives and the 5.5-inch carry limit.

Rep. Frullo was honored with Knife Rights’ Freedom’s Edge Award for his role as sponsor of Knife Rights’ Texas Knife Law Preemption Bill that was enacted into law in 2015.

Knife Rights’ Texas Switchblade Ban Repeal Bill was enacted in 2013, sponsored by Rep. Harold Dutton.

About Knife Rights:

Knife Rights is rewriting knife law in America. Knife Rights passed the nation’s first repeal of a switchblade (automatic) knife ban in 2010 in New Hampshire and has since passed repeal of switchblade bans and repealed other knife restrictions in Alaska, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin.

The second amendment the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed upon.
Very simple , very straightforward, unambiguous language “shall not be infringed upon”.
I don’t know what part of that are idiot politicians have so much trouble understanding but we need to push back against that in every forum and every form we possibly can.
Arms includes: firearms, swords, knives, bats, clubs, canes, etc.
We must let them infringe no further, and must rollback all infringements already in place .
After all it’s only constitutional, it’s only American.

In Texas a city can enact an ordinance that is more strict than the state statute concerning knives. The present state statue lets the cities do this and they DO. In some cities you cannot carry some regular pocket knives that can be carried in other Texas cities. This must be resolved in the new state statute. I cannot determine if the new statute will correct this. Knife freedom in Texas will be a relief to all residents.

Actually, as of 2015 they can’t. That year Texas passed knife pre-emption.

Thanks. When I was trying to find all relevant knife statutes last summer, the pre-emption did not come up in the search.
