NEWTOWN, Conn – -(Ammoland.com)- The National Shooting Sports Foundation’s 10th Annual Congressional Fly-In is scheduled to coincide with a truly landmark vote that will have long-term effects on the firearms and ammunition industry.

Larry Keane, senior vice president and general counsel, reports the confirmation vote for Judge Neil Gorsuch is anticipated to be held during the week of the Fly-In, April 4-5 2017.

During a conversation with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Keane was told “… the confirmation vote for Judge Gorsuch will happen the first week of April, right during our Fly-In. McConnell asked industry participants to come to D.C., to meet with senators to urge them to confirm Judge Gorusch.”

Gorsuch faces a 60-vote threshold to be confirmed by the Senate. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has threatened to use the filibuster to block a vote on Gorsuch.

If necessary, McConnell could invoke a “nuclear option,” which would call for reducing the votes needed for confirmation to a simple majority of 51 votes.

Normally I’d prefer bipartisan support but in this case I say ram it through using the tools they gave you….

The DemocRATs instituted the “nuclear vote” when they were in control to RAM through their agenda bills, even when the bills were not Constitutionally supported.
The Republicans can do likewise to install whomever they want and pass bills that fit the agenda of America and the Constitution.
