USA -(Ammoland.com)- The Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation was one of twelve non-profit organizations nationwide to receive a $5,000 “Moonshare” grant from Sugarland Distilling Company.

The winning organizations were chosen by the public to receive the grant to help their respective causes.

“Each year we encounter so many people working hard to improve their communities through charitable efforts,” said Courtney DeLaura, National Director of MoonShare. “This program is just one way we can bolster their efforts to make this world a better place to live.”

In addition to the monetary award, each of the 12 organizations will be assigned a month to be featured in the “Month to Shine” series on Sugarlands Distilling Company’s website and social media platforms to help bring awareness to the cause of each MoonShare recipient.

“The Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation is very thankful to be a 2017 MoonShare grant recipient. All of the credit for this accomplishment belongs to our members, donors and social media followers who voted each and every day,” said Sean Curran, Sportsmen’s Alliance vice president of membership and development. “The MoonShare grant will be directed to Trailblazer, our youth education program. Since 2001, the Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation’s Trailblazer program has introduced nearly 2 million youth and their families to the outdoor heritage. There’s no doubt this grant will enhance our programs and impact even more lives!”

Sugarlands Distilling Company, based in Gatlinburg, Tenn., made 2015 its first annual “Year of Giving” by launching MoonShare, a nationwide giveback component of the East Tennessee distillery that helps nonprofit organizations positively influence their communities through MoonShare grants, fundraisers, and donations.

Since 2015, Sugarlands Distilling Co. donated more than $120,000 to nonprofit organizations and charities across the country.
