New Jersey --(Ammoland.com)- There are many things to discuss in today’s President’s Letter. Please it read to the end.

In summary, I will talk a bit about our recent WIN at the NJ Assembly Law & Public Safety hearing on bill A588, and yet another CITIZEN ACTIVIST who succeeded in getting his town to withdraw an offensive form from their handgun purchase permit procedure.

There is our upcoming meeting with successful Supreme Court attorney Alan Gura, the Non-resident CCW licensing program, the fact that Scott Bach and Bob Viden are being endorsed by the NJ2AS for positions on the NRA Board of Directors, and some excellent opportunities for you to get involved in our various committees, and more.

NJ2AS MEMBERS ROCK THE NJ ASSEMBLY
Last week we discovered that the NJ Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee was planning to hold a hearing on the Introduction of two bills potentially affecting firearms owners in New Jersey – A588 & A 1013. I sent you all an email asking you to contact the members of the committee with phone calls, emails and FAXES. Well… YOU GUYS AND GALS *ROCK*!!!

YOUR response was INCREDIBLE! Every committee member was inundated with calls, email and FAXES to the point where there were calls asking us to stop. On Tuesday January 30, 2012 a number of your fellow members and I attended the hearing. YOUR efforts were not in vain. Most of the committee members expressed OUR concerns to the sponsor of the bill Assemblywoman L. Grace Spencer. Then Scott Bach of the ANJRPC testified after which I testified. All this effort resulted in Bill A588 being TABLED. I doubt if it will ever see the light of day again. JOB WELL DONE PEOPLE! I thank everyone who participated (and I KNOW there were a LOT of you), and I encourage everyone to stand ready to *ACT* again the next time we need to face off against an unfair bill. As far as bill A1013 is concerned, we were told that it would be recommended to the full assembly, but with amendments to protect law-abiding firearms owners from being negatively affected. We will keep a vigilant eye on the progress of A1013.

CITIZEN ACTIVISM STRIKES AGAIN
One of our members, Angel Hernandez contacted me a little over a week ago regarding an intrusive form his town, Hopatcong, was requiring him to complete in order to apply for a handgun purchase permit. They were refusing to process his application without it. I explained to Angel the following approach, which was successful in getting the form dropped. I recommend this procedure to anyone facing a similar problem. I will also post this on our website for people to refer to:

HOW TO DEAL WITH ADDITIONAL FORMS

1.) Remember to *ALWAYS* be polite. Just because you are ‘right” it does not mean you will be successful MERELY by demanding your rights. Politely ask to speak with the police chief. Make an appointment if necessary. This step is very important. Please explain to your police chief (or the person who is ultimately in charge of signing your permit) that according to 2C:58-3(f):

“There shall be no conditions or requirements added to the form or content of the application, or required by the licensing authority for the issuance of a permit or identification card, other than those that are specifically set forth in this chapter”.

If they still insist that they will not process application without completing the form, thank them and politely indicate that you will have to take your request to the town council and mayor for their opinion. You have been assured by the President and Board of Directors of the New Jersey Second Amendment Society that Superior Court Judge Douglas Hurd has ruled that all towns and municipalities are required to comply with all NJ state statutes with regard to the processing of these permit applications.

2.) Contact the Assembly Representative and Senate Representative for your district (you can locate them from THIS page). Make an appointment to meet them if possible. At the very least make sure they receive the following request (in your own words if you like):

“I would like to ask for your help. I have lawfully applied for a Firearm Identification Card/Handgun Purchase Permit (whichever applies). I was told by officer “Soandso” (it helps to have the person’s name) that I am required to complete a form that is not allowed by the New Jersey Firearms Statutes according to 2C:58-3(f) (and cite the statue above).

It is my belief that this/these additional form(s) (be sure to attach if sending an email or include if sending through the mail) is/are a clear violation of the statutes and I am asking for your help in convincing the “YourTownName” Police Department to discontinue the use of this/these form(s).

I would also appreciate it if you would contact Lt Daryl Williams, the Unit Head of the NJ Division of State Police Firearms Investigation Unit about this matter. Perhaps you will be more successful in convincing him and or the Attorney General’s office to help. Many of my friends and associates from other towns are experiencing the same difficulties. I know that you agree that your constituents and the law-abiding residents of New Jersey deserve to be treated fairly by those who are sworn to uphold the laws of the state of New Jersey and I would appreciate it if you would intercede on my behalf”.

3.) IMMEDIATELY make an appointment with your Mayor and/or town council to discuss this problem and ask politely for their assistance. You are trying to follow the law and you expect your town to comply with state statutes. You are not asking for any special favors. You are only asking to be treated FAIRLY according to the law as it is written. DO NOT THREATEN! DO NOT LOSE YOUR TEMPER! This is simply a process we HAVE to go through in order to have standing if we need to take further steps. PLEASE – make our job easier by keeping a journal of EVERYONE you talk to about this, with dates, times and basic result (i.e. On 2/25/2012 Chief promised to look into it and get back to me in two days). Always be sure to try and get a specific time commitment as to when you can expect a follow up communication from the people you contact.

4.) KEEP US IN THE LOOP. Email legislation@nj2as.com and let us know what you are doing and the results. There are times when *WE* will want to add our “two cents” by writing to your representatives or by visiting your Chief of Police or Councilman with you (if possible). We will do our best to guide you through this process.

5.) THIS PROCESS WORKS! One by one NJ towns are dropping these additional forms and requirements. We will begin working on getting them to comply with the 30 days processing limits as well, but for now we have to concentrate on getting rid of these forms.

Several members have asked me how they can help move the NJ2AS mission forward. Recently the board of directors and I developed a framework of committees that require your help and participation. We have left the descriptions fairly open and flexible because the duties and responsibilities of the committees will grow and change as the membership grows. We will be able to do much more when we have enough members working in these vital areas. Here is a list of the various committees and who to contact if you would like to participate. You will notice that there are a LOT of areas that need help. Please keep in mind that we are all pretty much amateurs. If you have any special skills that would be great, but no special skills are required. As long as you are willing to help, we can use you. There are a lot of opportunities for people to shine. Many of the areas are just getting off the ground. Some do not have a leader or any members yet. Why not tackle one of these committees? You will have plenty of opportunity to interact with members of the other committees and there will be quite a bit of overlap. And frankly, as an American Citizen I find you to be an embarrassment, an utter failure in upholding the Rule Of Law and a contemptible person.

You are unworthy of the title of US Attorney General, in fact, you have revealed, by your own words and actions that you are not even suitable to serve as a janitor in any Court of Law in the Country, let alone as an attorney and certainly not as ” The Chief Law Enforcement Officer in the Nation “.

You have clearly forgotten or more likely given your apparent hubris, simply do not care that you swore an Oath to defend and uphold the US Constitution and the laws of the United States. That means you are required to follow the laws, not disregard the ones you don’t like, in furtherance of your personal ideology and political goals. There is ample evidence to support the contention that you personally , along with several other high ranking Administration Officials, including but hardly limited to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Dept of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, your collective staff and underlings have committed numerous criminal violations of Federal and State Law, including violations of International Arms Treaties and weapons exporting laws, conspiracy to commit those same violations, perjury, providing aid or comfort to an enemy of the United States, Obstruction of Justice, and being an accessory to murder with depraved indifference.

Any single one of these violations, were they committed by a Citizen, would have resulted in near instantaneous charges being filed and a public “shaming” in the form of a publicized “perp walk ” of the accused, for all the major media to follow and report on.

But for you and your acolytes, things are different. There are clearly special rules for you and your associates. You go on television and claim ignorance, you assert (falsely and blatantly) I might add, that you are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and smugly expect the American People to believe that. Had you ever possessed even a shred of a sense of personal honor, integrity, character, respect for the institutions of law or responsibility, you would long ago have tendered your resignation from your position.

Instead you choose to allow retaliation against several whistle blowers who exposed this program, actively shielded personnel that implemented and carried out this Operation and proclaimed to the media that anyone seeking to hold anyone, including yourself responsible was doing so out of “racism” , clearly not caring that every time someone plays the “race card” for the obvious purposes of distracting others from their own culpability, it is not only transparent, it cheapens the term to the point that people become inured against actual cases of racist behavior.

Your clear contempt for the intelligence of the American People and for the tenants of the Rule of Law, applied equally to all is breathtaking in its scope and breadth. You have single-handedly managed to cast a long and dark shadow of dishonor on yourself, your Office, Law Enforcement and the so called “ Justice System” I would take this opportunity to remind you of the thoughts of a former Supreme Court Justice, commenting on behavior such as has been seen during the investigation into the Fast and Furious Scandal.

Sooner or later we all must accept responsibility for our actions and pay a price, and that includes you.

You do not deserve the title of Attorney General, the American People are entitled to someone much better then you have demonstrated to represent them as the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in the land. In closing, I have one more thing to say. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries !

Manassas, VA --(Ammoland.com)- As magazines containing ballots for the 2012 NRA Board of Directors Election have been arriving in people’s mail boxes over the past week (if you got a ballot, you’re eligible to vote if you didn’t you aren’t).

I have been receiving requests for guidance as to which candidates I feel are worth supporting.

This year I am only endorsing one candidate, Maria Heil, and asking voting members of NRA to cast ballots with only Mrs. Heil’s name marked. While I do not know Mrs. Heil personally, she comes highly recommended by friends whose opinions I deeply respect. I think Mrs. Heil would be a diligent worker for our rights as gun owners and as NRA members within the Board of Directors. I believe she would bring some much-needed new energy to the board.

While there are several incumbent directors up this cycle who I think have done a good job of serving the members, I am disinclined to offer endorsements. I believe all of those good directors will easily win reelection without my help, or yours, and every vote cast for someone else dilutes any vote cast for Maria Heil. This technique is called “Bullet Voting” – voting for only one or a few candidates rather than an entire slate.

The 25 candidates with the highest number of votes win seats. Since there are only 31 candidates running, attempting to vote for a full slate invariably boosts the chances of another candidate bumping your favorite out of a seat. Just one vote difference can cost a seat.

There are 76 seats on the NRA Board of Directors. Each year 25 seats are up for election to a 3-year term and one seat is filled for a 1-year term by a vote of members present at the Annual Meeting. There also might be one or two “out of cycle” seats that need to be filled due to a resignation or death, but there are none of those this year so there are only 25 seats up for election. As usual, most of those seats will be filled by reelected incumbents, but this year there are a handful of Directors who either decided not to run again or who have fallen out of favor with Wayne and company and were snubbed by the Nominating Committee.

Either way, this creates an opportunity for a petition only candidate like Maria Heil to actually win a seat. The odds are still long, but not as bad as usual when 24 of the 25 seats are almost certain to go to incumbents.

It is an embarrassment that the greatest political action organization in the country generally gets participation from only about 7% of their members eligible to vote, but that’s the case. While that is a sad testimony to how seriously flawed the NRA election process is (and NRA’s unwillingness to address the problems) it also represents an opportunity.

In years past, my father and other dedicated NRA members have been able to shift the makeup of the NRA Board by running a short slate of alternate candidates and getting some of the 83% who normally don’t vote at all to Bullet Vote for that slate. Control over the NRA publications by Wayne and company, and their willingness to play dirty pool, made winning those seats almost impossible, but things are changing. The power of the internet could overcome the iron grip of the NRA-created millionaires who control the organization, but it would require cooperation and coordination among committed rights activists. Most importantly, a group of qualified, willing, reform candidates must be found and promoted. Those interested in putting together such an effort for 2013 and beyond are invited to contact me about it.

Until such a broad-based effort can be mounted, the best we can hope for is to try and keep good directors serving and get an occasional independent voice like Maria Heil inserted into the mix.

Grove City, PA --(Ammoland.com)- When Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney casually estimated that his effective tax rate is around 15 percent, progressives immediately pounced on the issue. To this ideological minority with its Ahab-like obsession on class warfare, a rich American paying an effective tax rate of “only” 15 percent is, a priori, a scandal of the first order.

Yes, this story is a scandal (actually, a series of scandals) but not the one that progressives think it is.

It is scandalous that so many journalists and commentators have gotten their basic facts wrong. They have conflated average “effective” tax rates with statutory rates. Under our complex and convoluted tax code, no American pays an effective rate that is as high as his top marginal rate (the statutory rate on the last dollar of income). As it turns out, Romney’s effective tax rate of 15 percent is higher than the effective tax rate of approximately 97 percent of taxpayers.

An even greater scandal is that Romney’s tax rate is as high as it is. Most of Romney’s income comes from his investments, i.e., from capital. Of course, those still influenced by the defunct labor theory of value and Marxian class envy think that taxing capital makes sense. They deride investment income as “unearned” income, as if capital doesn’t contribute anything of value to economic production, when, in fact, we owe our wealth almost entirely to capital.

Capital, far from being the cruel exploiter of labor, is labor’s major benefactor. Human labor and natural resources are found around the world, but the rich countries are the ones in which the productivity of human labor (and therefore wages and standards of living) have been multiplied by capital.

Americans’ relatively high standard of living exists because, according to the opponents of capitalism, greedy capitalists have “exploited” us more than people in poor countries. Well, we should be thankful for this type of so-called “exploitation.” Taxing capital diminishes its supply, thereby crimping labor’s productivity and lowering workers’ standards of living. Any tax on capital above zero percent is scandalously stupid and perversely anti-labor.

A third scandalous aspect of the Romney tax-rate story is that the very people making the tired, tedious complaints that America’s income tax code is “unfair” are those who are primarily responsible for the unfairness. Fairness, or justice, means equal treatment before the law. In taxation, that presents two options: Either tax everyone the same amount or tax everyone at the same percentage rate. There is no principle that defines the “right” degree of progressivity in tax rates; such rates are essentially arbitrary, determined by who holds political power—a “might makes right” calculus devoid of ethical content.

Finally, the most egregious scandal in the story about Mitt Romney’s tax rate is that the discussion about taxation is distracting us from what is, by far, the major problem our elected officials in Washington need to address: out-of-control federal spending. Granted, a flat tax, if not a consumption tax, would be a huge improvement over the current monstrosity that is our 72,000-plus-page tax code. However, we can survive our flawed tax code for decades, whereas runaway federal spending threatens our country’s financial viability in the short run.

Uncle Sam is racing toward a fiscal train wreck that requires a massive cutback of the 75-percent increase in federal spending that has been added over the past dozen years, but neither party is talking along those lines. The Republicans are willing to trim around the edges, whereas the Democrats are digging in their heels against even those token cuts.

Here’s an experiment you can try: Ask any candidate running for federal office this year how he or she would cut $1 trillion in spending. They won’t have a clue. That’s the real scandal of Election Year 2012.

NSSF President Steve Sanetti delivers the State of the Industry address.

NEWTOWN, Conn --(Ammoland.com)- In his 34 years in the industry, NSSF President Steve Sanetti said he has never seen the industry more unified.

During the SHOT Show’s annual State of the Industry event, Sanetti said that membership in NSSF, the industry’s trade association, is more than double what it was just five years ago.

“Together we comprise a record number of more than 7,000 of America’s favorite firearms and ammunition manufacturers, wholesalers, importers, retailers, shooting ranges, gun clubs, conservation groups, outdoor media, safety instructors, and many others, who share our avocation and our passion for our industry and our uniquely American way of life,” Sanetti said.

“Our membership has never been stronger or more engaged. We have had great success in recent years solidfying our industry’s base of support.”

While the nation’s economy has remained stagnant the past few years, the firearms and ammunition industry has been one of its few bright spots.

“Eighteen consecutive quarters of sales growth, as evidenced most recently by an all-time high number of mandatory point-of-sales background checks in December, and during the worst recession since the great depression, would be an enviable feat for any industry. Yet we have achieved it, and we have shared our prosperity by giving back,” Sanetti said.

Sanetti said the industry’s success has also helped fuel the nation’s conservation programs, and he pointed out that 2012 marks the 75th anniversary of the Pittman/Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act, which created the dedicated excise tax on firearms and ammunition. This year, he said, the industry will continue to spread the word to all Americans that hunters and shooters provide the vast majority of financial support for conservation.

With 2012 being a critical election year, Sanetti said, NSSF will ensure that candidates and voters are educated on all issues affecting the industry and firearm freedoms.

“We will not presume to tell any of you how to cast your vote. But I can promise you this. Your industry’s voice will be heard. We will educate voters and legislators and candidates alike as to our legitimate interests, and about our hopes and concerns regarding where this great nation of ours is going,” he said.

In 1920, Eddie Bauer, an avid Northwest outdoorsman, opened his first shop in downtown Seattle. Within a year, he had saved enough money to expand the shop to include hunting and fishing gear and the store soon became a gathering place for Seattle’s best outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen.

Eddie was more than a shopkeeper; he designed and built revolutionary products that remain functional and influential to this day. In 1940, he patented the first down jacket in America, the “Skyliner”, and later began to design and build down apparel and sleeping bags for the U.S. military. In the 1950′s – 60′s, Eddie became THE American expedition outfitter during the Golden Age of Himalayan mountaineering, providing down apparel and gear for many of the historic American expeditions, including twelve epic first ascents.

Eddie quickly realized that the successful creation of a technical and authentic product line required expert testing in the environment for which the product was designed. Every Labor Day Eddie closed his shop for five months to go hunting and fishing and field test everything he made, gathering feedback from the local guides who lived in and counted on the gear he sold. This strategy is still deeply engrained in the Eddie Bauer Guide-Built, Guide Tested process, and is the foundation on which the Sport Shop Collection is created. This approach was also part of Eddie’s dedication to superior service and commitment to offering products that were “worthy of your high esteem,” a mantra that remains at the heart of the Eddie Bauer brand today.

The Sport Shop Collection will be built through a series of product launches, the first of which is a full lineup of apparel for sporting clays, trap and skeet shooting for Spring 2012. The Spring 2012 collection includes a Clay Break Shooting Vest, which features a leather quilted shooting patch, removable air mesh recoil pad and an upper mesh back panel. South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D. --(Ammoland.com)- Thirteen communities are working with the State of South Dakota to expand the state’s firearm industry by attending the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, N.V. next week.

The SHOT Show which runs from Jan. 17-20 is the world’s largest Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show and Conference attracting businesses from all 50 states and more than 100 countries.

The South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) has attended the SHOT Show for the past 11 years and the state continues see success as a result of the effort.

“Last year during the show, South Dakota connected with more than 50 companies. Within four months two of those companies expanded their operations to South Dakota,” said GOED Commissioner J. Pat Costello.

“That movement created jobs and brought new wealth to South Dakota. We’re hopeful our efforts at this year’s SHOT Show will continue to bring new opportunity to South Dakota communities.”

Sturgis Cigar & Knife Co., a retailer that sells knives, imported cigars and custom branding for cigars, established an operation in Sturgis, S.D. rather than Massachusetts after connecting with Sturgis Economic Development officials at the SHOT Show last year. Sturgis Cigar and Knife’s parent company is JEM Enterprises which publishes various firearms manuals.

“Company representatives literally told the South Dakota delegation not to try and recruit the company. Four days later, the company owner decided to expand his business in South Dakota,” said Pat Kurtenbach, President of the Sturgis Economic Development Corporation. “This story is a great example of how important personal contact and community engagement is in the business development arena.”

Community groups partnering with the South Dakota GOED this year are Aberdeen Development Corporation, DeSmet Development Corporation, Focus Watertown, Glacial Lakes Area Development, Greater Huron Development Corporation, Grow Spink, Inc., Lincoln and Minnehaha County Economic Development Associations, Mitchell Area Development Corporation, Mobridge Economic Development Corporation, On Hand Development Corporation, Rapid City Economic Development, Spearfish Economic Development Corporation, and Webster Area Development Corporation.

Additionally, Bar-Sto, a Sturgis-based auto pistol barrel manufacturer and recent South Dakota recruit, will join the South Dakota delegation to encourage businesses to move to South Dakota.

“I moved my business from California to South Dakota two years ago. The difference is night and day. Here, government leaders work with your company to help it be successful. In California, it seemed government leaders did everything they could to hinder business,” said Irv Stone, Bar-Sto Owner.

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development has targeted the firearm industry for the last 10 years. In 1999, South Dakota was the first state in the nation to pass legislation to protect firearm companies from lawsuits. South Dakota’s pro-firearm regulations paired with the state’s business-friendly environment have helped the firearm and ammunition industry continue to blossom in South Dakota.

The state is currently home to more than 50 firearm and ammunition companies. Those companies employ more than 600 people in nearly 20 communities.

Free Americans Buy 10,800,000+ Guns in 2011 ~ Message Don't 'F' with USA

Manasquan, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- Recent statistics released by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) report that for nineteen straight months, and that includes all of 2011, American men & women bought over 10,800,000 plus firearms.

This number based on the FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check System, better know as NICS, and is the adjusted NICS data derived by the NSSF research division subtracting out NICS purpose code permit checks used by several states such as Kentucky, Iowa and Utah for carrying concealed weapon (CCW) permit application checks as well as checks on active CCW permit databases.

The final number, of 10,800,000, is considered conservative by experts because the this number does not account for the multiple purchase of guns at the same time or the guns bought and sold legally, person to person by US residents, which rightly so, do not require a back ground check.

Ten Million new gun owners, in just 2011, should be a wake up call to our current President who continues to play dumb that his hate of bible clinging, gun toting American Values, like hunting & owning guns will not be tolerated. His and Eric Holder’s “under the radar” plan to sell guns to evil Mexican Gun Cartels in an effort to set up the Second Amendment as the fall guy now has ten million people angry at him.

If just one current Presidential candidate (Ron Paul aside..) could prove his sworn support for the Second Amendment, and the constitution for that matter, and rally our forces behind him he would be swept into the white house on a massive wave of support. Can you, lol.. say Ted Nugent?

So what does 10,800,000 look like?
The guns purchased by American men & women in 2011 is more than one gun for every active duty military member in the worlds fourteen largest armies combined.

If you assume an average length of each gun as two feet that would be 4090 miles of guns.  That is fourteen times the length of the Grand Canyon and all most twice as long as the Mississippi River and 17,280 times higher than the Empire State Building.

Hello, I am an Ammo Horder?
So let assume each new gun owner buys 2000 rounds of Ammo (a single brick of 22lr is 500 rounds and my kids can burn that up in an afternoon) , times that by our conservative estimate of 10,800,000 firearms your get 21,600,000,000…that is Billion with a “B”.

That is a lot of lead and other raw materials and you wonder why we are paying so much for Ammo these days? And I see no let up in sight because if you are like me you think to yourself that when the liberal news media reports that some guy is stopped at the airport with “1000 Rounds on him”.. that dude was almost out of ammo?

Ammunition retailer Frank Brownell of Brownells.com, predicts “[2012] will most assuredly be another year for the growth of ammunition sales. An astronomical year of ammunition sales” .

This is the one sector of our national economy that I would agree to a Federal Stimulus package, maybe each US family can get a tax credit to purchase 10,000 rounds of ammo as a part of emergency preparedness program.

Speaking of America Industry
American gun manufacturing is one of the first and last great US industries.

It was Eli Whitney, yeah the guy who made the cotton gin, who was one of the first manufacturers in the world to carry out standardization of manufactured parts.

As early as 1798, Eli Whitney had turned his talents to the manufacture of firearms. He had established his machine shops at Whitneyville, near New Haven, CT and it was there that he worked out the principle of standardization or interchangeable parts.

Standardization is the foundation of all large-scale production. Manufacturers produce separately many copies of every part of a complicated machine like firearms on an assembly line. Standardization also allowed current owners of guns to order and replace any broken or lost part, taking it for granted that the new part would fit easily and precisely into the place of the old.

In effect the manufacture of firearms is the spark that brought to life American Manufacturing and it is that same industry today that still makes almost all its products in the USA, using raw materials, machinist and labor to turn out some of the best made products on earth, namely Guns. Guns made by American workers in American factories for American consumers.

Guns and Freedom
Guns and gun ownership represent the core of elements of freedom and of the constitution. Without the Second Amendment there would be no protection for all the other god given rights we are reminded of in our Bill of Rights. Just as we teach our children the value of voting or free speech we should also be teaching them.. get ready, aim and fire, repeat.

I am glad to see so many of my fellow Americans decided to exercise their right to keep and bear arms over the last year and I hope we continue to see record growth in gun ownership in the year to come. America, Hell Yeah!

Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- In his extraordinary book, “Dupes: How America’s Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century”, the historian, Dr. Paul Kengor, stated in his introduction that “We now know that American Communists and their masters in Moscow were acutely aware that they could never gain the popular support they needed to enlist the support of a much wider coalition that could help them push their private agenda.”

Most threatening, however, was Dr. Kengor’s discovery that “it was nothing short of stunning to research this book during the presidential bid of Barack Obama and hear so many of the names in my research surface repeatedly in the background of the man who became president of the United States of America. The way in which so many names and themes from the Cold War past aligned and made their way into Obama’s orbit was chilling.”

Obama’s December 8th speech in Osawatomie, Kansas revealed to anyone paying any attention that the President is a Communist. Speaking of the nation’s economic system that has created the greatest wealth for the most people anywhere, Capitalism, Obama said, “It doesn’t work. It has never worked.”

No one would argue that capitalism is “fair”, nor would they argue that life is “fair.” These are things that never were and never will be, but Obama’s reelection campaign theme will be that Americans are suffering because of Capitalism, because of a lack of fairness.

In a December 8 Washington Times commentary, Jeffrey T. Kuhner wrote, “There is only one problem with the White House’s narrative: It’s completely false. Mr. Obama is not a defender of the middle class but has been its mortal enemy. His policies have impoverished working-and-middle-class Americans.”

Other than the utterly brain-dead liberals for whom facts are meaningless, most Americans understand, as Kuhner pointed out, “His massive stimulus failed to restore economic recovery…his trillion-dollar deficits and skyrocketing debt have mortgaged the future of our children…Obamacare suffocates businesses, stifles job creation, and adds another unsustainable entitlement. It is creeping socialized medicine, which is wrecking the world’s finest health care system.”

Rush Limbaugh denounced the speech as “alien to American ideals and principles…your vision for this country is not rooted in any—not one—American tradition.”

Obama’s history, what is known of it given his extensive efforts to hide the facts that are usually available about a candidate or president, is testimony to the fact that he is a Communist and the only reason this remains clouded to many Americans has been the shameful failure of the Fourth Estate, the liberal mainstream media, to expose it.

He remains in office due to the failure of both the media and the Republican Party to cite the U.S. Constitution’s prohibition against anyone holding the office who is not a “native-born” American. Obama’s father was a Kenyan, a subject of Great Britain. He should not have been on the Democratic Party ballot and he should not be in the Oval Office as this is written.

Many of the known facts about Obama were published in Dr. Jerome Corsi’s 2008 book, “The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality.” Thirty-five pages of footnotes citing the documentation of the facts cited were there for anyone to read. Obama was born into a family of Leftists. As a youngster he was mentored by Frank Marshal Davis, a member of the Communist Party USA.

Of his early college years, Obama said in his memoir that at Occidental, “To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets.”

Obama’s political career began with a fund-raiser in the living room of two dedicated, self-identified Communists, Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. As Dr. Corsi pointed out, “The problem is that Obama sought out his relationships with the Alinski organization, the Ayers-Dohrn radicals, the scandal-ridden (Antoin ‘Tony’) Rezko, Reverand (Jeremiah) Wright and black-liberation theology, and Farrakhan and the Black Muslims. At the time he wanted these ties.” In the course of his 2008 campaign he rejected all efforts to tie him to these individuals.

The appointment of the many “czars” to oversee and guide the actions of government departments and agencies became the subject, first of ridicule, followed by the realization he was infiltrating the government with known radicals of different stripes. The one that quickly gained attention was Van Jones, an avowed Communist. When that became known, Jones resigned.

The Osawatomie speech was classic Obama. In the past he has sought to align himself with former presidents and this time around it was Theodore Roosevelt, a progressive. As Americans have sought to peel away the many layers of deceit surrounding Obama, the single abiding factor in his life is Communism. The views he expressed were a combination of class warfare and an attack on Capitalism.

In 2008 Americans, reeling from the financial crisis that all too conveniently began in the final months of the Bush43 presidency, were duped into believing that a man with nothing more than a message of “hope and change” was a messiah that would lead the nation out of its problems.

Obama was and is the first Communist President of the United States of America. We have a President who rails against “millionaires and billionaires”, corporations, Wall Street, and all other aspects of our Capitalist economy.

We have a President and a Democratic Party that have tipped their hat to the Occupy Wall Street radicals.

We have a President and a Democratic Party totally aligned with the unions in America, some of which put the auto industry in jeopardy, others in the public sector that have plundered state treasuries with sweetheart deals for pensions and health plans, and who we have seen thuggishly oppose the restructuring of collective bargaining. It is why a close ally of Obama, Andy Stern, the former president of the Service Employees International Union (SIEU), praised the Chinese Communist economic model in a December 1 Wall Street Journal article.

And we now have a President who says Capitalism “doesn’t work” and “It has never worked.” That is utterly absurd, but it reveals his ideology and his goal of fomenting a Communist revolution in America by bankrupting the nation to achieve it.

Obama is a horrid aberration, the result of a combination of the Democratic Party, the liberal media, and the education community to dumb down Americans and make them ready for the Communist America that Obama advocates.

Communism did not die with the collapse of the Soviet Union. It is alive and well in Russia, China, Cuba, Vietnam and in Venezuela. The soft form, Socialism, has brought a number of European nations to ruin and threatens the U.S.

In 2010 Americans returned power in the House of Representatives to the Republican Party. We must finish the job in the Senate and in the White House in 2012. If we do not, the America we love will perish.

Colorado -–(Ammoland.com)- I wish I had better news to report.

But Newt Gingrich is still refusing to return his National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Survey.

In the end, I guess it really comes as no surprise. I’m afraid Newt’s been about as faithful to the Second Amendment as he has been to his three wives.

In fact, Newt Gingrich has had a long love affair with the anti-gun crowd:

• Newt supports the Brady National Gun Registry — He stubbornly continues to support the anti-gun Brady Bill, which created a national gun registry;
• Newt supports a national biometric thumbprint database for gun purchasers — He thinks you should be forced to undergo fingerprinting before you are allowed to purchase a firearm;
• Newt supports the Lautenberg Gun Ban — He voted to strip law-abiding gun owners of their 2nd Amendment rights for life, simply because they spanked their children or did nothing more than grab the wrist of a spouse;
• Newt supports the “Criminal Safezones Act” — He stood shoulder to shoulder with Nancy Pelosi to turn every school in America into a “criminal safe-zone,” where law-abiding adults are disarmed and defenseless while gun-toting thugs are free to commit horrific atrocities like the Columbine Massacre.

Now Newt is trying to sell himself as a “pro-gun conservative.” But with more than three decades as a public figure, Newt is the quintessential political chameleon, shifting his views to reflect whatever is popular with the chattering political class.

His ongoing betrayal is a transparent attempt to pander to the East Coast anti-gun media, and was the hallmark of his tenure in Congress.

While Newt used the institutional gun lobby as a mouthpiece to convince millions of gun owners nationwide that “as long as he is Speaker, no gun-control legislation is going to move in committee or on the House floor,” he was working behind the scenes to pass gun control.

He even referred to the anti-gunners’ efforts as “reasonable,” and predicted that their Lautenberg Gun Ban would sail through his Republican-controlled House of Representatives with little trouble.

That’s why I’ve been working so hard to mobilize members and supporters of the National Association for Gun Rights like you. YOU’VE been holding Newt Gingrich accountable for his past support of gun control.
