Wilsonville, OR —-(AmmoLand.com)- Crimson Trace announces the next generation of Lasergrips for most standard and compact Glock pistols. The LG-417 fits the 2nd and 3rd generations of the Glock models 17, 17L, 19, 22, 23, 32, 34, 35, 37 and 38. Suggested retail price is $329.00.

The LG-417 is the ultimate refinement of laser sighting systems for Glock pistols. The Lasergrips encircle the polymer grip of the Glock and anchored in place by a locking-block attachment that discreetly covers the beavertail. This skeletonized design leaves the backstrap open and adds little to the width of the stock Glock grip, giving it the advantage of fitting common LE/MIL duty holsters.

It is instinctively activated by a pressure switch built into the front strap of the polymer Lasergrips. Simply grasping the firearm in a normal shooting grip activates the laser. The master on/off switch is located on the left-hand side and uses new microprocessor touch sensor switch technology versus a mechanical switch found on most other Lasergrips. Users simply press the recessed pressure switch to turn the unit on or off. All electrical components fit into the Lasergrip, which is small in size and is ergonomically designed for comfort.

Two #2032 batteries are located in the palm swell on each side of the Lasergrips, providing over 4 hours of constant-on beam time. Rubber overmolding covers both the activation button on the front strap and the master on/off switch, providing improved grip while shooting.

Another new feature of the LG-417 is that it uses the smaller 3.3mm diameter laser diode versus the standard 5.6 diameter diode that is found in most all other brands of laser sighting devices. This reduces the overall size of the laser diode housing. As with all other Lasergrips, the LG-417 has both windage and elevation adjustments for shooters to make adjustments on their own. All Lasergrips come with an accessory pack that contains batteries, hex wrenches for laser adjustments, a cleaning cloth and several cleaning swabs. A three-year warranty is standard.

The new Lasergrips incorporate a one-piece wrap-around grip style with a large front activation switch. MSRP for both models is $329.00.

The new LG-426 and LG-429 Lasergrips are contoured to be both comfortable and secure in the hand while shooting. The aggressively textured polymer side panels are uniquely patterned to optimize the contact of the palm onto the pistol and are connected together with a durable rubber strap which provides even more grip while shooting with or without gloves.

Inside these robust Lasergrips is a storage slot for an adjustment wrench. The wrench is not only held in place by the form-fitted slot but a magnet also provides extra retention of the sight adjusting tool.

The supplied CR2032 batteries provide over two hours of illumination and the shelf life of these batteries is five years. As with all Lasergrips, the red targeting dot is user adjustable for windage and elevation. There is a touch-sensitive master on/off switch on the left side of the Lasergrips that is inset into the grip.

Installation is extremely simple with the new SIG Lasergrips. Simply remove the stock grips and attach the Lasergrips using the stock screws and washers. The Lasergrips are pre-sighted at the factory for 50 feet but can be changed by the shooter by turning the elevation and windage adjustment screws located on the laser diode housing. For instance, if you’re working on a 1911 for a customer named Bill Jones, you can establish a folder named “1911 Projects”. Within this folder create a saved cart for “Bill Jones”. As Bill’s project continues to grow you just add them to “Bill Jones” saved cart until you are ready to place the order. It makes project management and tracking very easy.

Or, if Bill Jones is a customer who has a lot of guns you make an entire folder for Bill Jones. Then you’d label this particular project, “.45 1911″ and so on as additional items are purchased for Bill Jones’s. If his next project is mounting a scope, you can put the items you bought for that project into the Bill Jones folder, but label this cart “Scope mount on Rem. 700, .243 cal”. Thus keeping all of Bill Jones projects together. Another really great feature of this system is that you can write yourself notes on the project you’re working on and save them for future reference. A fantastic way to keep track of your various jobs and projects.

Because of the complete flexibility of the new system, you can literally set it up any way you like. By the kind of project (rebarrel .45); by the name of the customer (Bill Jones); by the day date, or month date (October 2009); by the items you’ve ordered (Leupold Rings/Bases); etc., etc., etc. It doesn’t matter if you’re left brained or right brained, since you’re doing the labeling and you’ve put the carts into the folders, they are going to be where you think they should be. You just don’t have to conform to any body else’s ideas on filing!

What’s more, for those of you who had “Save(d) Carts” in Brownells’ old website before the upgrade in June to this new one, we have brought all those back in so you can access them and decide how you want to file them.

The Rifle Reel

The Rifle Reel is a safety system incorporating a hoist ring that will make elevated tree stand hunting even safer.”

The Rifle Reel is engineered to pull evenly on the forearm and rear studs while hoisting and lowering a rifle into an elevated stand. It also provides added convenience and safety when two hunters are carrying the same firearm, like with guided hunts.

“Most hunters don’t want to take the time to manually adjust the strap. This alone leads to accidents,” said Woolsey. “The Rifle Reel makes this quick and easy to do. You simply press a button and adjust it to the length you want.”

Magic Dust
Magic Dust has been designed to check wind directions and thermals during the night or day; mark blood trails; determine exact shooting distances and mark a hunter’s trail or the trail of game.

“We created this with the hunter in mind, especially for archers,” said Woolsey. “But we can naturally see hikers, scouts, the military and just about anyone who spends time in the outdoors using it. It has a lot of versatility”

The design features of Magic Dust include:

• Scent-Free and can be reactivated indefinitely;
• It can be placed in a plastic, accordion-shaped, reusable container called the “Activator”;
• The Activator is squeezed together from top to bottom and the “dust” is pushed – “puffed” – out;
• The dust is unique because it glows in the dark by phosphorescence. It is activated by the ultraviolet wavelength of a small light positioned at the bottom of the activator; and
• Sold separately are Hanging Indicators that can be used to mark distances, trails, or location to let other hunters, not game, know you are in the woods; and
• Put in scrapes to see when and where deer are moving.
• Add to feather waterproof powder to make arrow fletching glow in the dark. No problems if the arrow stays in animal because the Magic Dust is leaving a trail for you. As the animal runs the powder is falling off to assist in tracking.
• Mix Magic Dust into paint, arrow dip or fingernail polish and use it to paint arrows, sights, release, tree stands/steps or anything you want to glow to help recover gear or game during nocturnal hours.

In a head to head comparison conducted Q2 ’09 the BLACKHAWK! SERPA system was selected by a panel of active duty service personnel representing the various SOF Commands. Key to the SERPA selection was the active weapon retention, system modularity, speed and commonality of training.

Blackhawk! Serpa System Holsters

The basis of the system is built around the award winning SERPA Auto Retention holster which combines an intuitive drawing motion when presenting the weapon with automatic engagement of the locking mechanism upon re-holstering. The holster body is available in Concealment, Duty, Tactical, Level II, Level III retention models. Mounting platforms include a traditional belt mount, drop leg platform and a MOLLE chest mount. Color selection for all models and accessories include Black, Olive Drab, Foliage Green and Coyote Tan. Critical to all agencies, the training time is reduced due to the commonality of training across all models and retention levels of the SERPA system.

The SERPA holster system and components are now fully authorized for use within the Joint SOF arena, approved for purchase at the Command/Unit levels and will become an issued item as part of the US Government Load Carriage System (LCS) supplied to all of SOF.

The extensive range of options with the SERPA Holster system allows the operator to choose security level, mounting position, weapon angle and is offered to accommodate the BLACKHAWK! Xiphos™ light.
