title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- Aimpoint, the originator and worldwide leader in electronic red dot sighting technology, has announced that the company has established a sponsor relationship with the Southern African Wildlife College.

The College, based in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, offers formal training programs for regional wildlife and conservation officers.

Since its inception, the College has trained more than 5,200 students from 26 countries throughout Africa.

Southern African Wildlife College

While the training currently offered at the College focuses on management of protected areas and natural resources, both hunting and conservation organizations have identified the urgent need for proper training for the Professional Hunters (PH’s) who act as guides for visiting sportsmen. The support that Aimpoint is providing will help to facilitate the establishment of a newly created Professional Hunters (PH) training and certification course at the College. This new program will accept its first group of students in June, 2012.

“By offering training to PH’s, trackers and their support personnel, we will help to ensure a healthy future for the hunting industry in South Africa, and even more effective management of the region’s wildlife resources.” said Theresa Sowry Chief Executive Officer of the Southern African Wildlife College.

“A curriculum has been drafted, and the basic groundwork put in place to offer a two year Professional Hunter’s course. Students will attend eighteen months at the College and then move on to a six month apprenticeship with an established and approved hunting outfitter. In addition to field craft and safety, there will be a strong emphasis on ethics, sound wildlife management principles, as well as an understanding of the direct role that hunting plays in conservation.”

Wildlife management is a success story in South Africa. A healthy game ranch industry has resulted in a greater wildlife population and diversity than that was present at the turn of the 20th century. This success exists largely due to revenues generated by the hunting industry. As one of the premier hunting destinations of the world, Southern Africa has a large and very well established hunting industry which employs over 40,000 people and generates more than 3.8 billion Rand (US$ 470 million) in revenue annually. Professional Hunters represent the front lines in protection of the region’s wildlife, as the PH’s provide employment and support to residents in remote areas, and work closely with Wildlife Officers to fight poaching and protect endangered species.

For more information on Aimpoint or the Southern African Wildlife College, visit the following websites: www.aimpoint.com and www.wildlifecollege.org.za
Tags: Ammoland.com)- Aimpoint, the originator and worldwide leader in electronic red dot sighting technology, has announced that the company’s shipments of M68 Close Combat Optics under contract to the US Army recently passed a total of one million sights.

Contracts for the M68CCO have been issued to Aimpoint by the US Military since 1997, and continue with shipments as part of the latest contract for 565,000 sights awarded to the company in August, 2009.

“The continuous use of Aimpoint sights by the US Army for the past 14 years is a great honor for our company, and passing the one million sight mark is indeed a momentous achievement” said Lennart Ljungfelt, President of Aimpoint AB.

“The M68 Close Combat Optic has continued to evolve and improve over the years with feedback from our experience during use with the US Army, and we look forward to continuing to meet future requirements as they arise”.

Aimpoint sights have been tested and chosen by the US Army following several competitive evaluations, and Aimpoint is the only manufacturer type-classified to supply the M68CCO to the US Military. The company’s products are currently in service with all branches of the US Military, and the wide variety of models available make the product suitable for nearly all infantry weapons from small arms to heavy weapons.

The M68CCO is an electronic red dot reflex sight which increases effective marksmanship, and allows the user to acquire and engage targets with increased speed and accuracy without diminishing situational awareness. The optic is extremely rugged, and the latest versions of the sight operate continuously for up to 8 years using a single AA battery.

The contract for the M68CCO is administered by the US Army Materiel Command’s Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) located at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, in close cooperation with Program Executive Office Soldier (PEO Soldier). Based in Malmo, Sweden, Aimpoint supplies the US market through a wholly owned subsidiary, Aimpoint Inc, based in Chantilly, VA. A ruggedized switch knob has been integrated as part of the battery compartment housing and features 7 night vision compatible settings and 9 daylight settings.

The modular QRP2 mount maximizes product application for all M4 Carbines and M16 rifles, and eliminates the need for a separate mounting ring. The electronic components in the CompM4s include the latest ACET diode circuitry, which allows the sight to run continuously for up to 8 years on a single battery, and features an internal voltage regulator that makes it possible to utilize any AA sized battery found worldwide for power. The sight features a 2 minute-of-angle (MOA) dot size, making it perfectly suited for use with Aimpoint s 3X Magnifier (3XMag ), Aimpoint Concealed Engagement Unit (CEU ), and all generations of night vision devices. class="wp-caption-text">Aimpoint

Chantilly, VA –-(AmmoLand.com)- The Aimpoint Philosophy When the time comes to shoot, there should be absolutely no question that you can count on your sight to perform.

We believe that a weapon sight should simplify aiming while meeting the highest possible requirements for reliability and ruggedness. We know that conditions in the field place extreme demands on your equipment, so we design and test Aimpoint products to stand up to any conditions you are likely to encounter.

We also design our products to operate constantly for years on a single battery so your sight will always be ready whenever you need it.

Why a Red Dot Sight?
To be successful, shooters must be able to aim accurately and quickly under a wide variety of conditions. On a shooting range, there is plenty of time to take aim, but in the real world, everything is in fast motion. Add rough terrain, foul weather, poor light and high levels of stress and even the most experienced marksman will be put to the test.

Red dot sights are superior to iron sights and magnifying scopes in several ways. Using these other types of aiming devices require that the shooter’s focus leaves the target. With iron sights, shooters must align the rear and front sights with the target. Magnified scopes slow you down. Your field of vision is severely limited, and locating your target through a tube with one eye closed wastes valuable time and destroys your situational awareness.

The single red dot has been proven to be the fastest type of reticule to place on target, and provides the greatest increase in hit probability on moving targets. Red dot sights allow you to remain focused on the target. Shooting with both eyes open means that you remain in touch with what is going on around you, and will never again miss an important shot because your scope was on the wrong magnification!

Why an Aimpoint Red Dot Sight?
Place the dot on your target – from any angle Aimpoint sights are parallax-free, which means that the visible dot remains parallel to the bore of your weapon no matter what angle your eye is in relation to the sight. This means you never have to worry about centering the dot inside the sight. When the dot is on target, so are you. You will be able to get on target fast, and can forget about being challenged by bad light or moving targets.

All conditions – Anywhere
Aimpoint sights work in all light conditions from the darkness of the forest before dawn to bright mountain sunlight. They are fully submersible so you never have to worry about rain or immersion. Aimpoint sights are developed and tested to be used in any weather conditions, from the sub-zero temperatures of the Arctic to the heat and humidity of the tropics.
Aimpoint

Chantilly, VA –-(AmmoLand.com)- Aimpoint, the originator and worldwide leader in electronic red dot sighting technology, has announced the launch of an all-new line of premium red-dot optics specifically designed for use on hunting rifles and shotguns. These new products, known as the Aimpoint Hunter Series, make it possible for hunters to acquire their target faster and to make difficult shots in any weather or light conditions.

Aimpoint engineers started with a blank page when they designed the new Hunter H34L sight. and they came up with an exciting new product! This new line of non-magnified sights incorporates everything that end users have come to expect from Aimpoint, including legendary ruggedness and battery life measured in years. The Hunter Series also includes many additional features never before offered before by Aimpoint; enhanced optical performance provided by a 34mm tube, a newly designed front-mounted adjustment system that helps get shooters on target even faster than before, and a silently operated digital push button intensity adjustment touch pad. Just one look tells you that this is the most advanced hunting sight that Aimpoint has ever built, and the sleek, modern design will complement any firearm.

The first sights released in the series are 34mm products. The Hunter H34L is a full length sight ideal for use on center fire rifles with standard or magnum actions. The compact version, the H34S, is designed for use on standard action rifles and hunting shotguns. Both versions are mounted using two 34mm Weaver-style sight rings that are supplied with each sight. Both versions utilize a premium, multi coated anti-reflex lens in their massive 45mm objective, and operate for up to 50,000 hours (over 5 years) of constant operation from a single CR-2032 battery. Accuracy in any light or weather conditions is provided by a parallax-free lens system with a 2 MOA dot. These sights are fully waterproof, and extremely fast on target.

“The new Hunter Series shows that Aimpoint means business when it comes to hunting” said Brian Lisankie, President of Aimpoint Inc. “This is a completely new product, designed with input from serious hunters across the globe. We are very proud to offer North American hunters an alternative to magnified optics using the absolute latest developments in electro-optical science. The results are pretty spectacular – try one to see just how fast and accurately you can shoot without magnification.”

For more information on Aimpoint and Aimpoint products, visit the company’s website at: www.aimpoint.com or contact:
Tags:
Aimpoint

Chantilly, VA - -(ShootingWire.com)- Aimpoint announces the introduction of two new optical filters designed to fit the company’s popular 30mm electronic sight products. These new filters enhance the performance of Aimpoint red-dot sights by reducing solar reflection and glare on sunny days, and increasing optical contrast in poor light. Both of these new filters will fit all new and existing full-size Aimpoint sights including the 9000 series, all Comp series sights and all generations of the US Military’s M68 Close Combat Optic also manufactured by Aimpoint. These filters may be mounted and removed instantly without the use of tools, and are extremely small and lightweight.

Aimpoint Polarized Filter
Sunlight reflecting off of automotive windshields and glazed windows can obscure a threat by overpowering the human eye s ability to filter solar energy. Aimpoint s new Polarization Filter helps to reduce reflection and glare, allowing police and military users to identify who or what stands behind the glass. This product consists of a high-quality polarized lens mounted in a threaded soft plastic housing. The filter mounts quickly by hand in the rear lens opening of Aimpoint sights. The user can rotate the filter housing to engage the polarization feature of the

lens to cut through glare, or return it to non-polarized mode quickly and without the use of tools. By reducing the amount of reflected sunlight, the filter allows the user to see whether the personnel behind the glass represent a threat or not. While this may seem like a very small development, the utilization of these filters by police and military will save lives said Aimpoint Vice President Brian Lisankie. Military and law enforcement personnel are required to act quickly and decisively under a variety of conditions. Using one of these filters can allow the operator to determine whether a car approaching a road block contains an identifiable threat or appears harmless.

This inexpensive yet effective tool can help to prevent a needless tragedy, while also allowing identification a true threat earlier than possible with the naked eye. This filter is also ideal for sportsmen while hunting in bright sunlight, and the level of polarization can be changed quickly and easily to adapt to changes in conditions in the field.

Aimpoint Yellow Filter
A yellow colored lens enhances visual contrast, and allows the human eye to locate and define a target better.

This is especially true in poor light conditions caused by insufficient sunlight at dawn and dusk, or on cloudy or hazy days. Aimpoint s high-contrast Yellow Filter enhances visual definition, and increases the effectiveness of the red-dot sight when the lack of good light makes target identification difficult. The Aimpoint Yellow Filter consists of a high quality lens mounted in a threaded soft plastic housing that fits into the rear lens opening on any 30mm Aimpoint sight. Small enough to fit comfortably in a shirt pocket the Yellow Filter can be installed or removed immediately without the use of tools. Yellow shooting glasses have been available for many years, but it is not always feasible to carry multiple pairs of glasses said Aimpoint Vice President Brian Lisankie. Sport shooters firing at targets on hazy days and hunters searching for that elusive trophy at first light or at dusk all need the extra optical definition that the Aimpoint Yellow Filter offers. The extra performance capabilities created by this new product just increase the number of reasons why Aimpoint sights are the choice of serious sportsmen and women worldwide .

Product Introduction at 2009 SHOT Show

Aimpoint will publicly launch these new optical filter products at the 2009 Shooting Hunting & Outdoor Trade

(SHOT) Show which will be held on January 15-18 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The products will be displayed at the Aimpoint booths #661 in the General Hunting & Shooting section, and #9369 in the Law Enforcement section.

About:
AimPoint Red Dot Sights

AimPoint - -(ShootingWire.com)- Ever since their introduction in 2007, market response to Aimpoint’s Micro series sights has been outstanding, with wide acceptance by hunters, competitive and sport shooters, law enforcement, and military end users. As part of Aimpoint’s continuous improvement doctrine, we consulted with Aimpoint Dealers, shooting industry writers, and consumer focus groups regarding the features of the Micro series, and determined that the bright blue finish on the Micro H-1 sight needed to be changed to a non-reflective bead-blast finish.

AimPoint Micro H-1 Sight

Effective immediately, all Micro H-1 sights shipped from Aimpoint will have this new enhanced finish. The new product is currently in stock at our Chantilly, VA warehouse for immediate delivery, and Dealer orders will be filled on a first order in – first order out basis.

The new matte finish is expected to further increase consumer interest in the Micro H-1. The Micro H-1 is already experiencing high demand from customers who see the performance benefit a high quality red-dot sight has on improving their shooting success, as well as the economic benefit from needing to purchase just one electronic sight that can be utilized across multiple hunting seasons and shooting sports. The Micro H-1 can be mounted on everything you carry in the field: rifles, shotguns, handguns, bows, black powder rifles, rimfire handguns/rifles, and dangerous game rifles – just by swapping mounts. The Micro H-1′s new matte finish will also appeal to civilian owners of AR-15 style rifles desiring a compact red-dot sight, but not needing the night-vision compatibility and increased water-proof features of the Micro T-1. The original Micro H-1 was selected for Field & Stream Magazine’s “Best of the Best” optic for 2007, and was also used by Brian Zins to capture his unprecedented 9th National Handgun Championship at Camp Perry this year! Aimpoint is preparing to release exciting new mounts for the Micro H-1 at the upcoming SHOT Show, which will allow the Micro H-1 to be utilized on some very popular firearms – don’t miss it!

Micro R-1 mounts for popular firearms to debut at 2009 SHOT Show!

The natural aluminum finish of the Micro R-1 makes this sight a natural for any stainless steel handgun or rifle. Aimpoint is about to introduce a series of new mounts for the Micro R-1 as well. Come by the Aimpoint Hunting booth #661 at the SHOT Show in Orlando and find out why the Micro R-1 is going to be one of the biggest sellers for Aimpoint Dealers in 2009!

Micro T-1 experiencing rapid growth in Military, Law Enforcement Markets!

The tactical member of the Aimpoint Micro series, the Micro T-1 has developed a strong following within the law enforcement and military communities. The Micro T-1 was an immediate hit for use on flat-top AR-15 rifles and M4 Carbines. US Law Enforcement agencies also began purchasing this sight for use on shotguns, and sub-machineguns. The Micro T-1 on a tall riser has become a recent icon mounted on M4 Carbines in the hands of skilled operators worldwide. Recent aftermarket mount developments have also resulted in the lightweight Micro T-1 being utilized on M249 and M240 machineguns, and on top of larger magnified optics including sniper scopes and Rifle Combat Optics.

The Micro T1 has proven itself under combat conditions to be the first compact red-dot sight tough enough to wear the Aimpoint brand. The T-1 sight is waterproof to 25 meters (80 feet), and Aimpoint’s ACET diode technology allows for over five years of continuous operation on a single CR- 2032 battery. Stop by Aimpoint’s Law Enforcement & Military booth # 9369 at the SHOT Show to see for yourself, and take a look at an exciting new tactical handgun mount for the Micro T-1 as well!

Brought to you by - AMMO LAND.COM – The Free Press Release Service for the Shooting Industry! <a
