Ohio - -(AmmoLand.com)- Competitors at the National Rifle Matches in Ohio were introduced to the new Creedmoor Sports NMAR designed for both the new CMP NMAR discipline and real-time practice.

With over 220 entries, Paul Kerr out-shot all of the competitors to win the Bernosky Challenge event on August 8, 2009, with a 197-8x score. USAMU shooter, Brandon Green, finished a close second, scoring 197-3x. Carl Bernosky, for which the match was named after, came in third place at 196-4x. Those out-scoring Carl Bernosky took home cash prizes totaling of over $1000.

More pictures of the event as well as challenge results are available at www.creedmoorsports.com.

Information on the NMAR is also available through Creedmoor Sports.

The new NATIONAL MATCH AIR RIFLE discipline was developed by the CMP to simulate highpower rifle across-the-course shooting and provide adults with an air rifle discipline that builds on the popular junior three-position air rifle program. This NMAR discipline gives highpower competitors off-season shooting opportunities and it gives other shooters additional recreational target shooting opportunities. One of three NMAR equipment classes is for air rifles configured like M16/AR-type rifles. The Creedmoor-Anschütz NMAR rifle is one of these rifles. NMAR targets are scaled down highpower SR and MR targets. Courses of fire are closely related to current highpower courses.

Thirty-five (35) Creedmoor NMAR rifles were available for anyone for use during this competition.

ROCHESTER, New York –-(AmmoLand.com)- Crosman Corporation, long known for innovation and quality in the shooting sports, announced today that its Challenger PCP competition air rifle has been approved for use as a Sporter Class air rifle by the National Three Position Air Rifle Council.

Director of the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), Gary Anderson, said that “Council approval of the Crosman Challenger PCP as a legal Sporter Class air rifle means that the Council has determined that it fulfills all basic rulebook standards for price, caliber, velocity, weight, configuration, dimensions, sights and adjustment capabilities.”

According to Crosman Director of Engineering, Ed Schultz, much consideration was given to improving quality and adding leading edge features to the Challenger PCP.

“We kept the adjustable stock and ambidextrous bolt handle, but completely redesigned the rest of the air rifle with all the elements competitors are looking for. They include a two-stage match grade adjustable trigger, the use of high pressure air, providing for more consistent velocity, and a Lothar Walther™ barrel,” he said. “People competing at this level want a gun with features to improve the fit of the gun, while still adhering to the stringent rules of the sport. We’ve not only created a gun that offers better ergonomics for all shooters, but is more affordable than any of its competitors. Adds Schultz, “Some popular features of the Challenger PCP are the dual fuel capability which requires less pumping to achieve 2000 psi, and the patent pending bolt mechanism that allows for ambidextrous use of the gun.”

Crosman will introduce the completely new Challenger PCP at retail and through its Easy Program, a special youth organization marketing program, in August, 2009. The gun will be offered both with sights as the CH2009S, and without sights as the CH2009. Crosman also offers a full complement of filling devices including both pumps and adaptors for pressurizing the gun.
