title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- Extreme Shock is at it again, we have improved the .223 100 grain ASP (Advanced Subsonic Product).

In the ASP’s inception, Extreme Shock designed the bullet to function the Colt M4 battle rifle at subsonic velocities in full automatic.

However, due to it’s popularity, shooters was using the round in various weapon platforms. However, there is a quite a difference in the military M4 as opposed to commercially marketed AR-15 series of rifles. The military M4 chamber is larger than the commercial ARs.

This resulted in the Extreme Shock technicians and ballisticians developing in 2 separate subsonic loads. Designing subsonic ammunition is a delicate art, there is no one size fits all as with other ammunition. To achieve subsonic velocity one must change the powder, powder charge and seating depth. Extreme Shock has the only 100 grain .223 subsonic round that will fully function a military M4 and/or commercial developed AR-15s. You’ll have to hear it to believe it. No modifications to the weapon.

With noise comparable to a large air gun, the ASP gives the operator total stealth to achieve their objectives. Get in, get out without being heard!
<div

The result is the successful fielding of a high-performance round that is in theater today, and capable of providing superior firepower in any combat condition.”

ATK partnered with the Army to develop a flexible manufacturing plan to rapidly transition the EPR program into high-volume production. By bonding the lead to the jacket, it ensures maximum stopping power.

In addition, this same bonding process is used on the 9mm and 40 S&W ammunition selected by the FBI for use as their duty ammunition.

The bullet offers a six segment jacket design for a consistent and programmed expansion at a variety of impact velocities, including the lower velocities associated with snub nose revolvers, to maximize expanded diameter.

This product is only available to law enforcement divisions through our nationwide network of Winchester Ammunition Law Enforcement Distributors.

For more information about the new Range Bonded .38 Special +P and all of Winchester Ammunition’s products visit <a

Cox.

“Firearm and ammunition manufacturers were unfairly mandated to pay their excise taxes biweekly while all other manufacturers paid their taxes quarterly. This was an undue burden on the industry. In addition to being equitable, the change to a quarterly excise tax payment schedule will allow manufacturers to reinvest funds into researching and developing new products, purchasing new manufacturing machinery and creating jobs without establishing a new tax, adding to the burgeoning federal deficit, or using any bailout money.”

The Joint Committee on Taxation has estimated that this legislation will create a net revenue increase of $4 million over 10 years. Accordingly, the bill will increase funding for wildlife conservation through the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund.

Established by enactment of federal legislation in 1937, The Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund authorizes the development of wildlife restoration projects across the country. This legislation will neither raise taxes nor exempt firearm and ammunition manufacturers from paying federal excise taxes into the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund.

H.R. 5552 was signed into law on August 16, becoming Public Law 111-237.

About:
Lucky Gunner.com

Knoxville, TN --(Ammoland.com)- Like most industries in America from the fall of 2008 until recently, the online ammunition business has been a roller coaster ride.

LuckyGunner.com’s story is like most American success stories: a combination of hard work, overcoming adversity, entrepreneurial innovation, and a touch of good fortune.

The co-founders, all under age 30, successfully navigated the Obama-induced ammunition shortage, the Great Recession, and the normal challenges faced by all small-business owners to transform their idea into a website specializing in ammo for sale with over $3,200,000 of revenue in its first twelve months.

Obama Victory Ignites the Ammo Shortage
Leading up to the fall of 2008, the ammunition industry in America was already showing signs of strain. The recent scale-up of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, after a long period of relative peace, consumed a considerable portion of the country’s dwindling ammunition production. Police departments and other law enforcement agencies were beginning to transition from just-in-time inventory to larger stock piles in response to expanding lead-times from manufacturers, who were shipping more output to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies.

Then it happened: Barack Obama won the Presidential election in November 2008. The Obama victory unleashed a wave of public opinion reverberations that ultimately led to empty ammo shelves at almost every Wal-Mart and retail gun dealer in the country. The combination of the already strained ammunition production with the changing political winds was too much. The result: a bonafide ammunition shortage that reminded every shooter in America of the practical implications of too much demand chasing too little supply.

The Great Recession Adds Fuel to the Fire
Americans were already living in uncertain times before the election of a President who many feared would be hostile to firearms and ammunition.

The following events were making weekly headlines in the months preceding the election:

Bear Sterns had been taken over by JP Morgan Chase in a fire sale to avoid bankruptcy.

The FDIC was still digesting the Indymac Bank failure, the fourth-largest in US history.

The Federal government had effectively nationalized Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Layoff announcements and bank failures filled the evening news.

Merrill Lynch was absorbed by Bank of America and Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy.

The Federal Reserve had just lent $85 billion to AIG to stave off bankruptcy.

Congress was doling out billions of dollars in bailout funds.

In times like these, it doesn’t matter if you are a Republican or a Democrat, a conservative or a liberal, or if you live in a city or the country. There was ample cause for concern for all Americans. As these factors began to sink into the conscience of every day Americans, the demand for ammunition only increased.

From Customers to Co-Founders
While the confluence of the low ammunition production capacity, two foreign battlefronts, the Obama Victory, and the Great Recession created a perfect storm for ammunition demand, the recognition of these macro-forces weren’t the cause that prompted the co-founders of LuckyGunner.com to start a new business.

“We were already customers of other online retailers and simply realized that all our normal sources were chronically out of stock,” recalls one of the founders. This frustration was only compounded by the common industry practice of accepting orders for out-of-stock product and then notifying frustrated customers only days later that the order could not be fulfilled for several weeks or months. Like most businesses, LuckyGunner.com wasn’t the result of years of careful planning and a keen market insight; it was a practical solution to an everyday problem.

Another co-founder recalls with a smile: We decided to make three promises as the foundation of our company:

No matter what happens, we will always have a wide variety of ammo available to our customers.

Everything on our website will always be in stock and ready to ship or it won’t appear on the website.

We will fulfill orders immediately.

While their website has changed over the last 16 months, they still advertise these same principles.

Getting off the Ground
Apart from being customers of other online ammunition retailers, the founders had no previous experience or connections in either the ammunition industry or with e-commerce, but they were not first-time entrepreneurs or strangers to the challenges associated with launching a business.

“We also own a construction company, a software development company, and some investment property. I know it sounds weird, but we really were able to use a lot of these same skill sets at LuckyGunner.com,” says one founder.

The lessons they learned in purchasing, logistics, coding, and customer management have all been directly applied at LuckyGunner.com.

“We take our jobs seriously. Whether that means improving our systems to reduce errors and costs or broadening our supplier base for our customers, this industry is changing and we want to be the tip of the spear.”

They also recall the many 12+ hour work-days spent calling suppliers, checking in products, talking to customers, improving their website, and all the other tasks that go into launching a new venture.

“We have two primary groups of people we are accountable to: customers and suppliers. We take them both very seriously. For our customers, we try to design an easy to navigate website, update it with tools to make their lives easier, keep plenty of quality product in stock, and ship it fast. For our suppliers, we try to promote their brand value and new products to our customers, fulfill our commitments, and always pay on time.”

The End of the Beginning<br

While these are still obvious priorities, they now have momentum on their side.

“Now that we have a trusted reputation in the industry and a solid lineup of suppliers, we have more time to focus on driving down our costs and making our operation more efficient: both of which lead directly back to solving problems for our customers, which is the reason we started the business.”

The Path Ahead
The business environment has changed since their website was launched. High unemployment and the lingering recession are clearly impacting retail sales across the country. With the ammo shortage winding down (or already over), online ammunition retailers are no longer immune. The co-founders at LuckyGunner.com intend to keep focusing on delivering more value to customers via system improvements and product selection and pricing.

“We have a fun team and have learned a lot in the last twelve months; now we are are eager to apply the lessons and continue adding to our team, which is our biggest asset.” The rest of the team at LuckyGunner.com includes Heidi and Steven in Customer Service, Jake in Purchasing, and Angela in Marketing.

They can all be contacted at:<br

The inner jacket works with the bonded lead core and forms another six segments at a controlled rate resulting in a an expansion with 12 segments and is 1.5 times larger than the original bullet diameter.

The heavy outer jacket is mechanically bonded to the inner bullet. The inner bullet utilizes a proprietary bonding process, which welds the lead core to a second jacket that results in a design that provides for a combination of knockdown power, deep penetration and significant tissue damage while retaining nearly 100% of the original weight. The Supreme Elite® Dual Bond® has a large hollow point cavity, which provides positive expansion at a variety of ranges and impact velocities. Combined, this patent pending technology results in lethal energy transfer on impact.

SKU Description Bullet Wt.

*S44RMDB 44 Rem-Mag 240

*S4570DB 45-70 Gov’t. 375

S454DB 454 Casull 260

S460SWDB 460 S&W 260

S500SWDB 500 S&W 375

SSDB12 12 ga. 2-3/4 slug 375

SSDB123 12 ga. 3 in. slug 375

SSDB20 20 ga. 2-3/4 in. slug 260

SSDB203 20 ga. 3 in. slug 260

*New for 2010

For more information about Winchester Ammunition and its complete line of products, visit www.winchester.com.

Winchester Ammunition prides itself in being a leader of conservation
Extreme Shock Ammunition

CLINTWOOD, VA --(AmmoLand.com)- Constantly working to achieve maximum performance from their products, Extreme Shock is now able to release the improved CT2 (Copper Training/Tactical), thus expanding the CT2 further into the tactical realm.

When it was first released, the CT2 was primarily designed to be a training round. In these monetarily depressed times, The Extreme Shock Team has taken the initiative to produce a more cost efficient self defense round.

By enhancing the core design, our engineers have been able to design the bullet to fragment as expansively as our tungsten core munitions.

You now get the same results from the copper as you do with the tungsten core. The tungsten due to its heavy, dense core provides long range performance. But as most self defense shooting situations occur within 3 yards or closer to your assailant, the CT2 is ideal to a person who wishes to protect their life and the lives of their family members.

The above picture illustrates the massive fragmentation inside a ballistic gel block.

The CT2 is fully capable of stopping the threat instantly. It should be noted that the 45 ACP 150 grain CT2 was shot at a distance of only 3 yards with no exit.

To learn more about the full range of products offered from Extreme Shock Ammunition, please visit www.extremeshockusa.net, call Extreme Shock USA at (276) 926-6772
Tags: ATK

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) has completed its first contract to supply non-standard (non-NATO) ammunition to the Afghan Security Forces (ASF), ahead of the original schedule.

The U.S. Army Contracting Command in Rock Island, Ill., awarded the $87 million contract to ATK in December 2008. The contract required ATK to lead a global supply chain effort to procure and deliver various small, medium, and large caliber ammunition, grenades, and aviation rockets, including mission-critical 57 mm rockets and 12.7 x 108 mm ammunition.

The supply of high-quality, non-standard ammunition directly supports the efforts of the ASF to secure Afghanistan’s borders and protect its citizens in the ongoing fight against insurgent forces.

“Successfully completing this contract once again demonstrates ATK’s commitment to delivering mission-critical, quality products on time. ATK has repeatedly delivered excellent performance in the global marketplace,” said Mark DeYoung, ATK Senior Vice President and President Armament Systems.

“We continue to leverage our technical capabilities, program and supply chain management competencies, and a proven business approach to build our global portfolio and pursue broader international market opportunities.”

ATK recently secured two additional NSA contracts: a three-year contract with the U.S. Army to supply non-standard ammunition to the ASF, and a separate U.S. Army contract to provide non-standard weapons to the ASF.

ATK is a premier aerospace and defense company with more than 18,000 employees in 22 states, Puerto Rico and internationally, and revenues of approximately $4.8 billion. class="wp-caption-text">ATK

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn - Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) has received a $5.8 million contract for ammunition from the Crane Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center.

The contract is for the production of Mk318 5.56mm and Mk319 7.62mm caliber cartridges. The ammunition will be manufactured in Anoka, Minn.

The 5.56mm and 7.62mm products chosen by Crane were optimized under a development contract to complement gun maker Fabrique Nationale Herstal’s (FNH) newly released Special Operations Combat Assault Rifle (SCAR) weapon system.

The SCAR emerged from U.S Special Operations Command (USSOCOM)’s Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle program and is highly modular for easy adaptability to future upgrades and enhanced ammunition designs.

The contract ammunition is also compatible with existing 5.56mm and 7.62mm weapons systems and utilizes ATK’s unique barrier defeat projectile. This feature ensures proper functioning through barriers commonly encountered during warfare. ATK led the cartridge development contract for the Mk318 and Mk319.

“ATK’s ammunition will play a significant role in ensuring the Crane Division of the Naval Surface Weapons Center can perform its duties,” said Mark DeYoung, ATK Senior Vice President and President Armament Systems.

“This successful development effort demonstrates the design and production engineering strengths within our business to achieve our goal of meeting customer requirements. This is a clear example of how well our company works with emerging technologies to design programs that fit with market needs.”

The Crane Division is a shore command of the United States Navy under the Naval Sea Systems Command headquartered in Washington D.C. It’s located in Crane, Ind. and focused on harnessing the power of technology for the Warfighter.

About:
Extreme Shock 308 Ammo

The SRT allows entry teams to utilize M-14 & AR10s as entry weapons and minimizes the liability aspects of the heavy caliber.

These lead-free rounds are frangible and will fragment on hard surfaces that might cause a lead-core bullet to ricochet. A special coated copper jacket surrounds a compressed tungsten powder core to reduce the bullet’s velocity, producing lower recoil and minimizing muzzle flash, thus allowing faster second shot placement.

The dense tungsten core allows it to penetrate less dense materials with ease, while still remaining frangible. While lead-core munitions are susceptible to over-penetration, these rounds have 745 ft. lbs. of energy combined with a 100% kinetic energy drop, making them the safest yet most lethal CQB/Training round manufactured anywhere in the world today.

The 160 grain SRT has an MSRP of $19.26 for 6 rounds or $66.05 for 20 rounds.

To learn more about the full range of products offered from Extreme Shock Ammunition, please visit www.extremeshockusa.net, call Extreme Shock USA at (276) 926-6772
Tags: OnYourOwnAdventures

BOZEMAN, MONTANA --(AmmoLand.com)- On Your Own Adventures, a highly unique series, produced by Warm Springs Productions, featuring hunting adventures and tips for the non-guided, public land hunter today announced that Federal Premium Ammunition has signed on as a title sponsor of the show.

“After an extremely successful first year of production, we’re thrilled to have Federal on board as our title sponsor for year two,” said Randy Newberg, host and founder of On Your Own Adventures. “Federal is a leader in the hunting industry and their product is recognized throughout the self-guided hunting community. We look forward to working with them on another successful On Your Own Adventures season.”

Federal Premium Ammunition is based in Anoka, Minnesota where they employ nearly 1,000 workers. The company manufactures a complete line of shotshell, centerfire and rimfire ammunition as well as other components.

“Federal Premium Ammunition is pleased to be the title sponsor of the television show, On Your Own Adventures,” said Mark DeYoung, President of ATK Armament Systems/Federal Premium Ammunition. “At Federal we endorse all legal forms of hunting, but have a special interest in supporting the self-guided hunter. It is our belief that the future of hunting depends on increasing public land hunting activities and opportunities. Randy Newberg’s show encourages hunters to hunt more often and at the same time encourages new hunters to go afield for the first time. This is exactly what our industry needs. The show is unique because all hunts are 100% “do-it-yourself” adventures conducted on publicly accessible lands, the way most hunting is still done in the United States. We applaud Randy and the On Your Own Adventures staff for delivering a show highlighting the American hunting heritage – facing challenges and reaping rewards by embarking on our own adventures.”

Since the series debuted on the Outdoor Channel, the On Your Own Adventures website has been flooded with thousands of online comments from hunters across America expressing their appreciation of the show’s concept. Additionally, the On Your Own Adventures website has received more than 28,000 visits.

For more information regarding On Your Own Adventures, go to www.onyourownadventures.com.

About:
Hornady Ammunition

Grand Island, NE - -(AmmoLand.com)- Superformance ammunition is 100 to 200 fps FASTER than any conventional ammunition on the market today, and achieves this performance in EVERY gun, WITHOUT increases in felt recoil, muzzle blast, temperature sensitivity, fouling or loss of accuracy.

Innovative
Superformance is a cutting edge technological advancement in ammunition design that transcends convention and achieves the highest performance of any ammunition on the market today.

Specialized
Superformance uses ultra progressive propellants that take your favorite SST or GMX bullets to levels of performance that are simply unattainable with conventional propellants. In order to get more velocity in the past – shooters have used a brute force approach – large charge weights of a slow burning powder in a larger cartridge case. Ultimately this leads to more recoil and muzzle blast. The Superformance solution is an elegant approach that utilizes specialized powders…at NORMAL charge weights, that impart ALL useable energy to the bullet reducing the ROCKET NOZZLE EFFECT at the muzzle while still increasing velocity!

Versatile
Superformance provides increased performance, and is safe to use in ALL firearms, including semi-autos, lever gun and pump actions.

Increases in rifle performance, no increases in barrel wear and felt recoil, along with superior temperature stability are all realized with Superformance ammunition.

Increased speed, accuracy, and lethality – Superformance is a new breed of SUPER Premium ammunition that delivers it all!

It really IS… Rocket Science!

To download a comprehensive article on the performance, recoil and comparative testing of National Ammo Day

The goals of Ammo Day:
The goal of National Ammo Day is to empty the ammunition from the shelves of your local gun store, sporting goods, or hardware store and put that ammunition in the hands of law-abiding citizens. Not hard to do considering the recent Ammo Shortages but lets make your support of the Second Amendment known–by voting with your dollars!

There are an estimated 75 MILLION gun owners in the United States of America. If each gun owner or Second Amendment supporter buys 100 rounds of ammunition, that’s 7.5 BILLION rounds in the hands of law-abiding citizens!

The gun and ammunition manufacturers have been taking the brunt of all the frivolous lawsuits, trying to put these folks out of business. Well, not if we can help it! And we CAN help it by buying ammunition on November 19!

The purpose of National Ammo Day is to make it known that ammunition is in the hands of LAW ABIDING CITIZENS, not to frighten anyone or put ammunition in the hands of criminals.

It is CRITICAL that you comply with all the laws of your state and locale if you participate in National Ammo Day.

Before purchasing guns or ammunition, review the laws and safety issues for proper handling and storage. Don’t give the gun-grabbers any “ammo” to use against us!

Contact your local representative or law enforcement agency/office/station for specific information for your state or locale.

For More Info Visit Ammoday.com
Tags: <a
