title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife is advising bowhunters that deer harvested during the 2012 Winter Bow Season must be reported using the new Automated Game Check System (AGCS) instead of being brought to a deer check station.

Using the AGCS, hunters will report their deer over the telephone or online.

2012 Bow Licenses now come with a Harvest Report Stub (which includes a Harvest Number) instead of a Transportation Tag.

Once successful hunters retrieve their kill they are to complete the stub with the exception of the “Confirmation Number” – this number will be provided when the deer is reported via the AGCS. When reporting deer hunters will provide additional information (date, zone, etc.) about their deer.

More information, including images of the new Harvest Report Stub, is available at http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/deercheck_agcs.htm .

All bow hunters are encouraged to review this information before heading to their hunting location.
Tags: <a

Set your 20-yard pin just like you would on any other sight, and then micro-adjust your Retina Lock to align with your eye while your anchor point and hold are perfect. Every shot after that will provide instant feedback that will tell you if there is even the slightest bit of torque or change in your anchor point.

In almost no time at all, you’ll see how the IQ’s Retina Lock reinforces the proper form—no matter the angle of inclination or declination—to build confidence and to ultimately extend your effective shooting range.

U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance

Columbus, OH --(Ammoland.com)- With fall days sweeping across much of North America, it’s the time when hunters everywhere think of two related topics: archery and white-tailed deer.

Generally, archery seasons are a relatively new concept with many being created by state game departments during the 1950s and 60s.

Today, an estimated 9 million Americans participate in archery, and many of those are bowhunters.

Increasing whitetail deer numbers have meant more hunting opportunities—and sometimes more controversy. The deer numbers have grown across America thanks to conservation, wildlife management, and increased interest by hunters and landowners. Hunting areas and seasons have expanded thanks to the work of the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance and sportsmen nationwide to defend hunting through Congress, the courts and legislatures coast to coast. Today, every state offers an archery hunting season—and with that, many reasons to grab a bow and some arrows, and head afield.

The Basics
Bowhunting is a “back-to-the-basics” adventure. Once you have a bow and arrows, you are nearly ready to go hunting. Most hunters also add sights, a release aid, quiver, silencers, stabilizers, a rest—and other gear to their bow. Others utilize more traditional equipment which is mainly a recurve or longbow with few add-ons.

Additionally, you will need broadheads, practice points, a backstop, and possibly a treestand or blind. To be certain that you have and use the proper arrows for your bow and archery plans, select the proper arrow. More details are at: www.eastonarchery.com/download/selectioncharts. Then, after some practice and refining your proficiency at given distances, you’ll need to turn your attention to hunting areas and the animals you wish to hunt.

Deer motivate approximately 90% of the U.S. hunting market expenditures, and most bowhunters have visions of whitetails and mule deer in their minds. Of course, you can also hunt bear, elk, pronghorns, wild boar, turkeys in some states, and small game species, like squirrels, with your bow. In numerous states, archery licenses are affordable and available over-the-counter.

If you do want to improve your archery skills or learn more about bowhunting, consider joining an archery league, shooting at a 3-D course, or taking a state game department bowhunter education course. Some state’s might offer special youth hunts in case you have a young bowhunter seeking a place to go hunting.

Bowhunting success often comes to those who take the time to learn their bow and gear, the fine details about the animal they hunt, and their personal limitations. As a rule, bowhunting requires that hunters get within 30 to 40 yards of the animal.

The good news is that many bowhunting seasons are open when the weather is warm, fall leaves are colorful, and deer are often on the move in search of acorns and other foods or when they are in mating season. Well-worn game trails can reveal the best places to hang a treestand, place a store purchased blind, or build your own blind, and settle in for your wait.

The Future
While anti-hunting and animal rights organizations have worked to stop or curtail bowhunting mopportunities, the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance has worked to protect bowhunting—and expand opportunities. The USSA was the leader in creating the Bowhunting Rights Coalition in 2005 that brought together some of the nation’s premier hunting organizations to defend against anti-archery legislation in several states. In recent times, the Coalition has helped open Sunday bowhunting seasons and other opportunities.

About the USSA:
The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliances watchdog efforts protect the rights of hunters, anglers and trappers in the courts, legislatures, at the ballot, in Congress, and through many public education programs. The USSA has more than 150,000 registered Sentries that regularly receive information about conservation issues, and then they actively work to promote and protect scientific conservation through calls and contacts. For more information about the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance and the Sentry program, call (614) 888-4868 or visit: www.ussportsmen.org.
Tags: Carbon Express

Flushing, Michigan --(Ammoland.com)- I recently sat down and had a long conversation with carbon Express vice-president, Lennie Rezmer, that simply changed the way I look at archery.

I asked Lennie a basic question, “How do I pick the proper arrow?”, and I came away with a much deeper understanding of archery performance and equipment.

First off, I asked Lennie what he felt the three most common mistakes are that people make when choosing arrows because I am used to learning from mistakes! He gave me the below list to consider, and then he told me how to properly choose.

People spend a lot of money on a high performance bow, and then they go buy cheap low performance arrows to save money. The arrows will never allow that expensive bow to perform near its capability.

Commonly people choose their arrows without considering dynamic spine. They just go to a static spine chart and pick a shaft.

Many people choose an arrow that is simply too light because all they care about is speed. These arrows can be unforgiving, and if you don’t have absolutely perfect form, you likely won’t shoot well with them.

So Rezmer told us what not to do, but what should we do to make the right choice?
To even begin this process, Lennie said that we must understand static spine and dynamic spine. Static spine is how much deflection at a 28” span a shaft has with a weight of just over a pound hanging from the middle. In other words, how much bend? Dynamic spine is how much that shaft bends, or reacts, at the actual thrust from the string when the arrow is released. In essence, this is how quickly the arrow recovers or how forgiving it is.

So now that we understand the two types of spines, how do we use them? Most folks just look at their arrow length, bow poundage and come up with a static spine number and use that to pick an arrow. Lennie showed me Carbon Express’ Adjustable Weight Chart. This chart takes in all the aspects of your exact setup, considers in what dynamic spine of an arrow will do specifically, and then adjusts your poundage number so you can go to an arrow selection chart and be more accurate.

The Adjustable Weight Chart starts with your bow’s poundage, then adds or subtracts pounds for specific parts of your setup and gives you a final adjusted number. For instance, you will gain 8 pounds if your draw weight is 60lbs or higher and you have high-energy cams, but you will lose 5 lbs if your bow has 65-80% let-off. There are a number of features to be considered, then you do a calculation at the bottom of the chart and get your final number.

You can take that number to the Carbon Express Arrow Selection Guide and easily pick the properly spined arrow for your setup.

So after you have done this, there are still many different options of shafts with the various spines. I asked Lennie about this as well.

“ First, I am a big proponent of Dual Weight Forward Spine. That means that the front end of the arrow flexes more for forgiveness while the back end doesn’t flex much, resulting in faster recovery time. This really helps accuracy, especially with broadheads.”

Rezmer went on to explain, “When choosing a specific shaft, you have to decide what you are doing with that arrow. Are you target shooting and only worried about the fastest and flattest arrow flight you can get? Are you hunting big game like elk and moose? Are you mainly a whitetail and turkey hunter? All these things will determine which type arrow is best for you, and of course you must consider the price.”

Lennie gave me a couple examples of different situations and arrows that fit the bill for each. First let’s look at an adult male that wants to hunt elk. He will need a lot of kinetic energy for a big animal and proper penetration. Lennie said in this situation, the shooter needs a heavy arrow of at least 9-9.5 grains per inch to perform properly. So after finding the proper spine, he can pick a shaft type that fits. In this case it might be a Maxima Hunter KV 350 at 9.8.

If this same archer were only going to shoot whitetails and turkeys, such high kinetic energy isn’t quite as necessary, so he might want to consider lighter poundage and a shaft like the Maxima Blue Streak Select 250 that weighs in at 7.4 GPI. This will still get all the penetration needed for such animals.

Rezmer recommended for youth or lady shooters that are pulling 30-50 pounds and shooting arrows under 28” in length, they should shoot a fairly heavy arrow. He said that since they are not shooting high poundage, weight is needed for proper penetration, but also the arrow should still be light enough to fly. He recommends a shaft in the 8GPI range for these hunters.

He ended by telling me that if you are going to error, you should likely error on the side of being a bit heavy. This is especially true of novice shooters because with lighter arrows comes more speed, and speed is definitely less forgiving as far as accuracy goes. If you have any flaw in your shooting form and you are shooting a light arrow at smoking speeds, that flaw will show in the form of poor accuracy. Speed can kill both ways.

So as you can see, there is much more to choosing the proper arrow for you and your purposes than simply matching a couple of numbers on a simple chart. One thing is for sure, if you will take the time and effort to pick the right arrow, your shooting, and in hunting situations, your harvests, will definitely improve. The Carbon Express Adjustable Weight Chart makes this whole complicated process very fast and easy, and I know it has really helped me understand arrows and how to use them to my greatest advantage.

About Carbon Express<br

Offered in 3, 5 and 7 arrow models, the Soft Loc is the quietest, mid-priced quiver line available. Each model is designed and manufactured to absorb and reduce shock and vibrations thus adding to its quiet reputation and acting as a practical vibration dampening system.

Bob Proctor, President of Alpine noted: “The patented Soft Loc Quiver employs a ‘systems’ approach to quiver design. It incorporates a unique rubber mount and dual guide rail design that work in conjunction to dampen vibration and noise for a smoother, quieter shot. We also have a Quick & Quiet feature that allows you to mount and detach the quiver quickly and quietly as well as a vertical and quiver angle adjustment ability for perfect alignment and clearance. There is also a special adapter so the quivers may be worn as a hip holster. It’s easy to see why the Soft Loc Quivers have been called ‘The best quiver system on the market’.”

The Alpine Archery Soft Loc Quivers are available in 3, 5 and 7 arrow models and will accept all standard diameter arrows and fixed and mechanical broadheads. In addition to the Parallel Cam Design, the new Prime series offers a long list of unique features that make the bow truly one of a kind:

Forged 7000 Series T6 Aluminum Riser is twice as strong as traditional 6061 T6 aluminum risers.

-This durable design helps to increase riser stiffness and reduce shooter’s hand shock.

C-1 Laminated Limbs

These limbs utilize a cross weft design to significantly reduce torsional stresses in the limb resulting in improved consistency and accuracy

GoreTM Fiber String & Cables

o This proprietary string material is a blend of Gore TM performance fibers and BCYTM 452X.

The Marriage of these tow industry leading technologies results in a superior string with less vibration, a reduction in noise, and increased durability.

TI-Glide Titanium Flexing Cable System

The Prime’s Flexible Titanium cable guard system reduces cam lean by 25% by reducing side load on the cables during draw. Every Prime bow is fully assembled and tune. G5 then takes the extra effort of cycling every bow 100 times on an automated cycling machine, and then super tunes the bow again. This process ensures that strings are properly stretched, and limbs and limb pockets have properly settled – eliminating the need to retune your bow after your first 100 shots.

About G5 Outdoors:
NYBowHunter.com

New York - -(Ammoland.com)- In mid-November I was invited down to Newark, DE for the GORE Labs2Woods Blogger Summit. I had a chance to meet the people at GORE and came away from the experience extremely impressed with GORE as a company and how they stand behind their products.

You see, GORE isn’t like most companies. There isn’t some hierarchical ladder that prevents employees from the bottom from being heard at the top. That might not seem like a big deal at first, but because everyone at GORE is an Associate it means their opinion counts, their voice can be heard, and their ideas can be explored.

Almost everyone has heard of GORE-TEX and Windstopper, two of GORE’s most noted products, but the company makes everything from fabrics that protect our firemen and astronauts to guitar strings, fishing line, and medical devices that can plug a hole in your heart. All of these products were developed because GORE gives it’s employees the chance to be different and think outside the box.

And that’s the problem GORE set out to solve: How can a hunter get close to an ungulate without being detected at typical engagement distances?

What I really like about GORE is their scientific approach to solving problems. The Company didn’t just decide to enter the camouflage market, they knew hunters wanted to get close to game without being detected and nothing on the market had been designed specifically for hunting ungulates, or hoofed animals.

The problem with traditional mimicry patterns on the market is that they block up into a mass of gray at close range – the range you need to be at for a successful hunt. So while your new HD camo might look amazing on the rack at the store, when you’re in the woods the real concern becomes how is the animal going to react when it sees you at close range? And that’s the problem GORE set out to solve: How can a hunter get close to an ungulate without being detected at typical engagement distances?

To help answer these questions and develop a scientific solution GORE brought in a panel of experts including:

Optifade Open County, a pattern scientifically designed for engagement ranges of 35 yards and beyond at ground level. The larger neutral areas of the pattern, or the macro-pattern, are more critical to concealment at these engagement ranges, in a landscape of rocks, brush and scattered trees.

This year GORE released Optifade Forest, a pattern scientifically designed for close engagement ranges of under 20 yards and for elevated angles of attack – typically 15 feet up in a tree stand. At that proximity, the micro-pattern becomes more critical: it compensates for the contrasted, highly detailed background perceived by the prey.

I live in the world of the treestand hunter and spend 95% of my time hunting from a treestand. When you’re 20 feet up in a tree like I am you have bright sky, dark leaves and branches and the vertical lines of trees all around you. It’s these lines that make it easier for a whitetail to pick you out of the tree on that cold November morning. Even if you’re wearing mimicry camo you will blob out with every movement you make because most of the mimicry camo patterns don’t have the contrast to break you up.

Sitka GORE Optifade Camo Shown in Real Field Conditions

With help from their panel of experts, GORE figured out that ungulates suffer from red-green color blindness and have a larger field of view than humans. Using this knowledge they were able to test patterns with different colors, macro patterns and micro patterns on live animals and see how they reacted to each pattern. After a long test period, GORE was able to determine which colors worked best for treestand hunters and how to arrange the macro and micro patterns of the camoflague to help the hunter appear as nothing to the eyes of the ungulate.

To help understand the difference between a macro pattern and a micro pattern think about a tiger and a leopard. A tiger is a stalking predator with a macro pattern to help break up it’s outline as it chases it’s prey. Leopard’s, on the other hand, are ambush predators and have a micro pattern that helps them blend into the background as they prepare for their attack.

Optifade incorporates a macro pattern of large fragmented shapes – mathematically configured to match those of the animal kingdom – that breaks up your body symmetry and outline. Additionally, Optifade also incorporates a micro pattern of small fragmented shapes – matching the fine texture that defines our world – which makes you fade into the background.

This is the science behind the Optifade pattern that makes it so effective.

I’ll admit, I was hesitant to put on my green looking Optifade Forest and head out to the dead brown woods, but I’ve been successful using Optifade and I’ve watched whitetails look up at me and right through me as if I wasn’t even there. When a deer picks it’s head up, looks in your direction, and goes back to feeding, that’s the ultimate rush as a predator. You’re out there up in your tree and you have your desired game well within bow range without a clue you are there.

Personally, I’ve been extremely impressed with the Optifade pattern and I think GORE hit a home run with this one.

New Jersey Outdoor Alliance

TRENTON, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- Now that the bill has passed and will soon become law we can stop smiling over a job well done and answer the question, why was this bill so important to bow hunters?

First of all we have to understand what exactly the bill does. It allows a legally licensed bow hunter to hunt from an elevated stand at a distance of 150’ from a building or structure.

You still must have the legal right to be on the property, you can not trespass on posted private property and you can not be within 450’ of a school playground. If we take a quick look at the old 450’ law and draw a circle around a dwelling it excluded 14 acres of huntable area. The new law excludes only 2 acres.

This becomes important if your neighbor is an anti hunter and wants to stop you from hunting your own property. If you and your neighbor own adjoining five acre lots the 450’ law would exclude you from bow hunting on almost all of your property. Also it allows the bow hunter to have more of an impact in controlling urban deer populations which before this law passed they did not have access to. These urban deer populations populations are also the ones causing most of the problems. The most common of these being deer car collisions, destruction of trees and plants and the spread of Lyme disease. When hunters have access to a deer population, the State, through the setting of seasons and bag limits can do its job in controlling these populations. Without access there is no control.

With each victory by the sportsmen and women of New Jersey comes the responsibility to live up to the high expectations that are being placed on us.

We will never convince the anti-hunters that we have a right to even exist. It is the non-hunting public that in the end will decide our fate. We have a great opportunity with the passage of the Sunday bow hunting bill last year and the perimeter bow bill this session to show the people of the State of New Jersey that hunters are an important tool in wildlife management. It is important to remember that hunting is a privilege granted by legislation.

We must always remember that safety comes first and the best shot very often is the one not taken. If we continue to police our own ranks and prove to the public their trust in us is well deserved we will continue to make strides in increasing hunting, fishing and trapping opportunities in New Jersey.

JOIN NJOA: http://www.njoutdooralliance.org/support/njoa.html

About:<br

We had been getting more and more requests from the females in our sport to make a bow just for them.

They wanted a bow that would not only look awesome on the shooting line but have the performance and accuracy needed to win. So we went to work.

We combined all the features Alpine is known for; stand out looks, light weight, shootability and the high-performance every archer wants.

<div

Then we added a nice little touch to the riser, an antique finished emblem that tells the world – ‘Because you are as good as he is’.”

The BLUSH may look terrific and shoot smooth as silk but it is all business with a very un-lady like IBO speed of 290 fps at 27” draw length and its all available for a bank account pleasing low, out the door price of only $399.

Now you can afford to travel to the shoots you plan on winning.

BLUSH – Just for the ladies.

For more information please contact:

Alpine Archery

PO Box 319

3101 North South Highway

Lewiston, ID 83501

208-746-4717

www.alpinearchery.com
Tags: TenPoint Crossbows

SUFFIELD, OH – -(Ammoland.com)- When doing pre-season maintenance, thoroughly check for warn, looses, damaged, or missing parts every time you use your crossbow. Use the following as a guide to maintaining your crossbow.

1. Replace frayed or worn strings, cables and/or ACUdraw/ACUdraw 50 cords prior to shooting or using. Also look carefully at the center serving on the string. If the current string was improperly installed (without the required amount of twists) the serving may separate and the actual bow string may be exposed which could cause the string to break when the crossbow is fired.

2. Crossbows that are frequently used should have the string, cables, and ACUdraw cord replaced every year or every other year. If the crossbow is only used occasionally, the string, cables, and ACUdraw cord should be replaced every three to four years. Change the string and cables at the same time since they will all stretch over time, decreasing the crossbows performance. And yes, the steel cables found on a few of the models will also need to be changed since they actually will stretch more than the synthetic cables.

3. Lubricate the rail, also known as the barrel, every 75-100 shots when using a light oil or every 150-200 shots when using Microlon’s Precision Oiler. Add one small drop to each side of the rail and rub in completely. Don’t use a vaseline-like substance or wax on the rail or in the trigger box. The vaseline will only collect dirt and debris, deposit it in the trigger box, and eventually keep the bow from cocking altogether. Too much lube will saturate the string’s serving and break it down making it gummy.

4. Also lubricate the PowerTouch trigger box, adding one small drop of a light oil or Microlon’s Precision Oiler to the Dry-Fire Inhibitor (DFI), inside the trigger slot, and both sides of the safety slide. Lightly lubricate the RollerTouch triggers’ safety plunger, DFI, and string slot. Failure to periodically lubricate the trigger box will usually result in a rusted or bound-up trigger mechanism.

5. Wax the length of the crossbow string (except for the serving) and the cables every 75-100 shots and burnish (rub it in quickly, creating heat) it in with your fingers. Don’t wax the plastic coated steel cables. Lightly wax and burnish the entire length of the ACUdraw cord (if installed) at the same time.

6. Make sure screws haven’t worked their way loose through vibration. Check tightness of the foot stirrup setscrews, main assembly bolt and setscrew (loosen the setscrew before trying to tighten the main assembly bolt), stock screws, barrel screws, etc. Don’t over-tighten the ACUdraw or ACUdraw 50 cover screws, doing so will bind the unit and possibly crack the covers – cover screws should be just over hand-tight.

7. Change the scope battery if you have an illuminated scope. The battery is a lithium 2032 and can be purchased in most grocery, hardware, or electronics stores. The scope battery is located underneath the brightness knob. Remove the battery cover by rotating the thin knurled outer edge counter-clockwise, while holding the thicker section of the brightness knob firmly between your fingers. Replace the battery and screw the battery cover on, clock-wise, to re-install.

8. Inspect all accessories, including arrows, for damaged, missing, and loose parts. Repair or replace those parts before the season starts so you don’t get caught in the woods without the proper accessories.

Spending an hour or less on this list during pre-season will make it less likely for you to have to take time out of your hunting season for routine repairs that could have been taken care of earlier!

Visit www.tenpointcrossbows.com for more information.

Ammoland.com)- Big Green Targets, the leading manufacturer of archery targets made from 100% recycled materials introduces its newest line of Pro Series Field Point Bag Targets in four convenient sizes; the Stopper, Kodiak, Polar, and Monster.

Each Big Green Bag Target is uniquely designed with square front, back, top and bottom panels. This produces a larger target face, avoids the pillow look, and more importantly eliminates pass thru’s on the edges of the targets like many other “pillow” type bag targets.

In addition, the target will accept shots while sitting on the ground unlike most bag targets that tend to tip over without additional support. In addition each bag features an all weather polypropylene outer shell with green targets printed on a white surface. While each target is designed to stop blazing fast arrows, they are also built with arrow ease-of-removal in mind to ensure an enjoyable shooting experience.

The “Green” in Big Green Target refers to the company’s commitment to the environment. Each target is produced from 100-percent post-industrial waste that, without being put to good use, would have ended up in a landfill. To top it off, Big Green Targets accepts all used targets for recycling as well, but don’t expect to wear them out any time soon because they are built to last.

The full line of Field Point Bag Targets Includes:

Field Point Stopper

Features grommets for hanging or standing

Measures a full 23 inches tall by 23 inches wide and 14 inches deep (23 x 23 x 13)

Weighs approximately 27 pounds

Replacement bags available

Retails for $54.99

Field Point Kodiak

Huge target that is ideal for hunting camps and long-range shots

Includes deluxe bag with Carrying straps and Velcro close bottom

Measures a full 32 inches tall by 32 inches wide and 14 inches deep (32 x 32 x 14)

Weighs approximately 42 pounds

Replacement bags available

Retails for $119.99

Field Point Polar

Great range or outfitter target

Includes deluxe bag with Carrying straps and Velcro close bottom

Measures a full 36 inches tall by 36 inches wide and 14 inches deep (36 x 36 x 14)

Weighs approximately 55 pounds

Replacement bags available

Retails for $139.99

Big Green Monster

Giant Oversized Bag perfect for ranges and outfitters

Measures a full 48 inches tall by 48 inches wide and 14 inches deep (48 x 48 x 14)

Weighs approximately 120 pounds

Retails for $249.99

Big Green Targets – Good for bowhunters. class="wp-caption-text">New Jersey Outdoor Alliance

TRENTON, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- Bipartisan legislation sponsored by Senators Van Drew and Oroho, and Assemblypersons Burzichelli, McHose, Albano, Milam, Moriarity, Chiusano, Addiego, Rudder and Riley that modifies the perimeter for bow hunting around occupied buildings was signed into law by Governor Chris Christie.

The new law changes the area for bow hunting around an occupied building to 150 feet and will assist in providing a means of accessing deer populations for culling purposes.

“This bill will go a long way toward helping to reverse destruction of our forests and help restore balance to currently compromised ecosystems throughout New Jersey. These ecosystems are life sustaining habitats for a myriad of dependent wildlife,” said Anthony P Mauro, Sr, chairman of New Jersey Outdoor Alliance.

Restrictions for bow hunting within 450 of a school playground remain in effect. The law also stipulates that an arrow may only be released when the hunter is in an elevated position, which ensures the arrow has limited travel and a downward trajectory.

Mauro continued, “The law not only facilitates the reduction of deer and car collisions but will also help to diminish a source known for carrying the deer tick, which responsible for most of the cases of Lyme disease.”

Bow hunting has a proven track record of being a safe and effective means of controlling game populations.

Tom Connors, Legislative Liaison, New Jersey Outdoors Alliance stated, “There are many diverse conservation organizations that supported this bill, including United Bow Hunters, NJ Audubon, Jersey Coast Anglers Association, Trout Unlimited, New Jersey Conservation Foundation, New Jersey State Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs, NJ Farm Bureau and more. The law is good public policy.”

In 2006 Pennsylvania successfully changed its bow hunting limit from 450 feet to 150 feet without compromising public safety.

“I’m thrilled to see that both the legislature and Governor are providing the necessary leadership to ensure public safety and environmental stewardship,” said Mauro. “This law is but one of many changes that we need in New Jersey to assist us in the caretaking of our natural resources.”

The Governor also signed into law a measure that will authorize counties to develop community based deer management plans and apply for special deer management permits for county-owned lands.

Anthony P. class="wp-caption-text">New Jersey Outdoor Alliance

TRENTON, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- I have heard that the animal rights community is flooding the Governor’s office with phone calls to prevent the bow perimeter bill from becoming law. Apparently, they are providing false and misleading information in an attempt to create public hysteria.

Even if you have sent an email or letter in support of the bill please call the Governor’s office and let them know you want the bow perimeter bill signed into law.

Call: 609-292-6000

All you need to say is, “Please sign the bow perimeter bil into law.”.

It will take less than 30 seconds of your time to support a bill that is good public policy. It is designed to safely improve deer management, which will reduce car/deer accidents, minimize the risk of Lyme disease transmission, and improve the health of our forests while helping people to feed their families.

Thanks to all of you for your support. A united group of +800,000 anglers, hunters and conservationists have proven they can make a difference!

Anthony P. Mauro, Sr.<br
