Founded by Major Dan Rooney in 2007, Folds of Honor provides post-secondary educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members disabled or killed during U.S. military service. Major Rooney, a former F-16 pilot who served three tours in Iraq, founded Folds of Honor to ensure that families of fallen service members never have to endure alone.

Major Dan Rooney, a PGA Professional, USGA member and former F-16 military pilot with the Oklahoma Air National Guard, founded the Folds of Honor Foundation in 2007 following his second of three tours of duty in Iraq. At roughly two pounds and a compact 13 inches, the HDMR is one of the lightest and shortest 34mm tube scopes on the market. It features a side parallax adjustment and high quality Bushnell optics. The HDMR is made from hammer forged T6061 aluminum and is 100 percent waterproof, fog proof and shock proof. Argon purging helps ensure long-lasting performance by decreasing the likelihood of gas dissipation and protecting against chemical reactions within the scope that can cause degradation and seal corrosion.

The long zoom ratio makes for an incredibly versatile scope. New features on the Horus reticle make close encounters even faster; while long-range is still a dial twist away, using the embedded Speed Calculation formula with the time-tested accuracy of the Horus grid.

Overland Park, KS – -(AmmoLand.com)- With the advent of digital versus film cameras in the last few years, the popularity of trail cameras has skyrocketed.

Consumers can now take hundreds, even thousands of digital photos at a fraction of the cost of film.

With this technological breakthrough it makes more sense than ever to own at least one trail camera.

Traditionally trail cameras have been used primarily by deer hunters to photograph the animals in their hunting area for the purpose of scouting for the upcoming season. This is still a big part of their use, but outdoorsmen have begun to discover a whole host of new ways to use their cameras.

Trail camera technology has continued to improve over the years to the point that now there are some great affordable units on the market. The Bushnell Trophy Cam models have a host of great features, while still being highly affordable.

Leupold Scopes

BEAVERTON, Ore. –-(AmmoLand.com)- Leupold & Stevens, Inc. has sued Bushnell, Inc. and others for infringement of a patent granted to Leupold relating to its True Ballistic Range® technology (TBR®).

With TBR, Leupold pioneered ballistic compensation for uphill/downhill shot angles, superseding basic trigonometric angle/distance compensation. TBR was introduced by Leupold in 2006, and uses an advanced algorithm to deliver exceptionally accurate ranging capability that is matched to a bullet’s ballistic profile.

The complaint was filed February 2, 2010, in U.S. District Court in Portland, Ore., and alleges that Bushnell’s sales of range-finding products incorporating Angle Range Compensation™ (ARC™) infringe U.S. Patent No. 7,654,029 owned by Leupold.

“Leupold asserted provisional patent rights more than two years before filing suit, but Bushnell continued to manufacture and sell the infringing products,” said Andy York, Leupold’s vice president of sales, marketing, and product development.

“Leupold has invested a significant amount of engineering and development resources in the production of this patented technology and the company will vigorously enforce its intellectual property rights against all infringers. Generally, we prefer to resolve disputes without resorting to litigation, but in this case, our management decided that due to the substantial amount of time some of the defendants had been on notice, that litigation was necessary.”

The complaint also names as defendants Burris Co, Inc. for the Burris Eliminator™ laser scope, and Carl Zeiss Optical, Inc. for sales of range-finding products incorporating its Ballistic Information System™ (BIS) feature.
