SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. --(Ammoland.com)- Officials with the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) announced that Springfield Armory, Cheaper Than Dirt! and Vang Comp Systems will be gold level sponsors of the 2011 Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships which will take place August 18-21 in Piru, Calif.

Organized by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA), the national governing body for the sport of speed shooting, the Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships celebrates its 30th anniversary and it’s final year in Golden State as the match moves to Florida in 2012.

“This year we’re celebrating the 30th anniversary of one of the most important matches in pistol competition,” said Scott Moore, Steel Challenge sponsor relations. “Over the years the Steel Challenge has grown to prominence due to the generous support of sponsors like Springfield Armory, Cheaper Than Dirt! and Vang Comp Systems who are committed to expanding the shooting sports.”

Springfield Armory, Cheaper Than Dirt! and Vang Comp Systems join industry leaders the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Safariland, Sig Sauer and Smith & Wesson as major sponsors for this year’s championships.

Registration for the match is open and those interested in competing can find the competition schedule and match hotel info, as well as the match application, at www.SteelChallenge.com.

Fort Worth, Texas, USA --(Ammoland.com)- Ashley Spurlin, recent History Channel Top Shot competitor, joins the ranks of shooting sports retailer Cheaper Than Dirt! Spurlin, a Bronze Star recipient, has signed on to represent America’s Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter at events and competitions across the nation as the newest Live Fire Correspondent team member.

Former special operations combat controller Spurlin will walk-the-walk and talk-the-talk as he reports from the field.
