Rifles International to Host Silvio Calabi’s Namibia Online Journal

Pikesville, Maryland --(Ammoland.com)- Rifles International, the first online magazine dedicated to fine rifles and the adventures they inspire, announces a leap forward in African safari reporting with a compelling, original series by well-known writer Silvio Calabi.
Located on the Internet at www.riflesinternational.com, Rifles International will publish a three-week succession of Silvio’s reports from Namibia, March 16 – April 6, 2011, about his extended safari where he will hunt plains game such as oryx, kudu and eland.
Silvio’s series is part of the Rifles International beta-test program prior to its official launch, as a means of demonstrating the effectiveness to advertisers of reaching a highly desirable demographic with an online magazine that has attracted some of the best writers in the industry.
In Nambia, Silvio will evaluate Krieghoff’s unique Semprio inline repeating rifle. His photos and stories will transport readers into camp with Professional Hunters, trackers and other staff. Silvio will update his communiqués three to four times each week on www.riflesinternational.com
Silvio was a publishing executive for more than 25 years and has been editor-in-chief of both Shooting Sportsman and Fly Rod & Reel magazines (and is now an editor-at-large for both). He is a Knight of the International Order of St. Hubertus, a member of Safari Club International and the Namibian Professional Hunting Association, and a director of the California Side By Side Society. With Roger Sanger and Steve Helsley, he wrote the acclaimed book Hemingway’s Guns; the three also co-produced the Gold Medal Concours d’Elegance of Fine Guns. From his home on the Maine coast, he travels and writes widely, and creates and hosts high-end hunting adventures in the UK, Europe and southern Africa.
