Oley, PA --(Ammoland.com)- Neal Rohrbach, an Outdoor Television Personality, is the latest addition to the Goey Hunting Calls Pro Staff, and the first hunting celebrity to join the team.

The guys behind Goey Hunting Calls are waterfowl nuts, driven by their passion for duck and goose hunting. They all have “day jobs” but spend their free time scouting, hunting, building and tuning calls.

After first meeting Rohrbach at an Outdoor Channel Celebrity Meet & Greet, at the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show, they knew instantly that he shared the same passions and waterfowl drive that the company was founded on.

The Hitman2 offers plenty of volume for high flyers, as well as a low-end that will entice even the most reluctant birds. This double-reed call was developed specifically for its ease of use. Rounding out the lineup of new DND duck calls is the single-reed Vicious. This call was crafted to do two things: kill ducks on windy days and win contests. Designed off the Havoc tone-board, the Vicious sound barrel was stretched a little more to produce more volume, and the bore was opened as wide as possible, while requiring minimal air pressure to produce the illustrious 40-note hail calls with no problem. Using a hunting-call-based tone-board allowed the designers at DND to achieve the high-end hail calls and then come down to unbelievable nasty duck talk with the Vicious. For pure power and medium duck range, the Vicious is in a league of its own.

Drake Elite Team Member Todd Copley Wins 2010 World Duck Champion Calling Contest

Olive Branch, MS --(Ammoland.com)- Todd Copley, Drake Waterfowl Elite Team Member, earned the 2010 World Duck Champion of Champions title this past Saturday in Stuttgart, AR. Stuttgart is home to the World Duck Calling Championships, held on Thanksgiving weekend as part of the Wings Over The Prairie Festival.

The prestigious Champion of Champions contest is held just every five years and is open only to previous winners of the World Duck Calling title.

The Champion of Champions competition is truly a battle of the best of the best. Todd, who won the World Duck title in 2003, has been competing in the contest since 1999 and has consistently been in the top 3 places.

When asked about his first reaction to being crowned the winner, Todd said “This is bittersweet. It’s the best day of my life and the worst day of my life because I don’t get to sit back there any more.”

Winning the Champion of Champions title automatically retires a caller from competing in the World Duck Calling Contest in Stuttgart. The only other way to reach a “retired” status is to win three World Duck Calling Championships. Todd Copley was a fan favorite and received a huge ovation from the crowd when he was announced the winner.

Everyone at Drake Waterfowl is proud of Todd and will miss seeing him compete at the World’s, but Todd is influential in other state and regional calling contests and will continue to be a great representative for duck hunting and competition calling.

Duke was the Third runner up in the 2009 74th annual World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest and will representing the Gulf Coast Region in the World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest.

Final Approach

Overland Park, KS. --(AmmoLand.com)- World champion goose caller Scott Threinen, of Rochester, Minnesota has joined the Final Approach Advisory Staff.

Scott is an active contest caller who currently holds over 25 major calling titles, including:

Scott grew up on a dairy farm outside a small town in Minnesota. With a large local population of geese in the area, he started hunting waterfowl at 12 years old. When he was 15 his parents would drop him off at fields to call for guided hunters in the renowned area of Rochester, Minnesota. Hunting and being outdoors was his passion, but he also excelled in sports in high school.

Champion Goose Caller Scott Threinen

Scott signed with the Cleveland Indians out of high school after they drafted him his senior year. He also played football where he signed a letter of intent to play both football and baseball at Oklahoma State University. He played four years in the Indians organization and now resides in Rochester, Minnesota.

After baseball, in 2006 he started a company called Molt Gear which produces instructional calling and hunting DVDs and CDs. The initial release of the Bad Grammer CD in 2006, followed by the Bad Grammer DVD in 2008 have become the number one selling goose calling instructional discs on the market. In 2009 he released the Stage Grammer DVD for inspiring contest callers and this past March, Scott and Molt Gear released their first in a series of videos called “The Goose Society,” which takes an inside look into the finer aspects of goose hunting.

Additionally, Scott was recognized in 2004 with the cystic fibrosis humanitarian award for his contributions and efforts of bringing awareness of the disease. He also runs an instructional goose hunting club out of Rochester, Minnesota.

Clint Parker Johnson of Ravenna, Tx was the Texas State Champion Caller in 2008 and 2009 and went on to place 17th in 2009 World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest.

The World Championship Calling Contest Committee sanctions the contest, with the winner moving on to Stuttgart, Arkansas to represent the State of Texas and Gulf Coast in the World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest to be held November 27, 2010. Contestants must have attained the age of seventeen (17) years as of the hour of contest for the Texas State and Gulf Coast Regional. The calls come with a totally new tone board design that gives the call excellent volume without sacrificing the quiet, raspy sounds that bring ducks into your decoy spread. The rapid departure angle of the tone board makes this call virtually “stick proof.”

The Bill Collector is manufactured of injection-molded polycarbonate and comes in two configurations. The double reed has a mallard green barrel and clear insert, and the single reed version has a root beer barrel and a clear insert. The Santoprene™ wedge locks the reeds in place for maximum calling constancy.
