Colt Defense
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. --(Ammoland.com)- Colt Defense LLC, one of the world’s leading designers, developers, and manufacturers of rifles and carbines, is pleased to announce the donation of a custom Colt M1911 pistol, as well as two Colt LE6920MP rifles, to the Dan Wheldon Memorial Auction.
The custom 100th Anniversary model of the M1911 is highly engraved to highlight the 100th Anniversaries of both the Model M1911 handgun and the Indianapolis 500.
The donated LE6920MP rifles represent two color variations of a new line of Colt rifles for 2012 that come standard with several Magpul accessories.
“We are proud to put these items up for bid to help contribute to the Wheldon family and honor Dan’s legacy,” says David Ridley, Vice President, Colt Defense LLC, “The highest bidder on the 1911 will own something that is truly one-of-a-kind and the winner of each rifle will hold one of the first guns from this brand new line.”
The donated Colt M1911 is a 100th Anniversary model of the pistol, which is available only in 2011. This gun features several unique customizations that highlight the 100-year anniversary of the Colt M1911 pistol and commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The gun’s slide features a silver-plated engraving of the Indianapolis 500 trophy. The gun is finished in Polished Royal Blue and has Cocobolo grips that feature gold-plated C100 medallions. The 1911 pistol will also ship with a walnut glass case etched with the Serpentine Colt.
The gun’s special serial number, 98INDY500, memorializes Dan Wheldon’s car number when he won this year’s Indy 500.
“Because this gun is so very unique, I cannot even begin to say what it might appraise for or the amount it might garner in this auction,” said Ridley.
The two donated rifles represent the first line of products that Colt Defense and American firearm accessories maker, Magpul, have developed together. These rifles feature Colt’s popular 6920 Law Enforcement Carbine at the base, with several Magpul accessories added as standard equipment.
Magpul Original Equipment (MOE) additions featured on the LE6920MP rifles include the MOE Carbine Stock, MVG (MOE Vertical Grip), mid-length MOE Hand Guard, the Generation 2 Magpul Back-Up Sight (MBUS), MOE-K Hand Grip and MOE trigger guard. One donated rifle, the LE6920MP-B, has all Magpul parts in black, while the other (LE6920MP-FDE) features Magpul accessories in flat dark earth.
The Dan Wheldon Memorial Auction was established for the family of the late Dan Wheldon, two-time Indianapolis 500 winner, who died in a race accident on Oct. 16, 2011. The auction began when Graham Rahal, fellow IndyCar racer, offered to auction his own helmet, gloves and shoes worn in the race in which Wheldon died, to raise money for the family. To bid on these Colt firearms and contribute to the trust fund, please visit www.gunbroker.com/auction/SellerAuctions.aspx?User=2006466. The auction will close on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011.

title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- In cooperation with several hunting-oriented conservation organizations, DFG will offer 13 big game fund-raising license tags for eight mule or black-tailed deer, two desert bighorn sheep, one Grizzly Island tule elk, one multiple zone elk and one pronghorn antelope.

Following a competitive bidding process, DFG proposes to award agreements for the auction or sale of the 13 tags to the following organizations: Wild Sheep Foundation (National and California Chapter), Safari Club International (Orange County and San Francisco Bay Area chapters), The Mule Deer Foundation (National, Central Coast, Chico, Shasta-Lassen and Redding chapters), and the California Deer Association (North Valley, Salinas Valley, Gridley and Mount Saint Helena chapters).

These conservation organizations submitted a bid package describing their intent to auction off a particular tag at their annual fund-raising dinners/conventions during late winter/early spring. Auction of these tags typically generates more than $300,000 per year for DFG to put back into conservation and management actions that include surveys, habitat improvement, applied research and translocation of animals to historical ranges where they may currently be absent. Such translocation efforts in California have been a great success for tule elk, desert bighorn sheep and pronghorn antelope.

“California’s hunting organizations continue to demonstrate they are at the forefront in support of wildlife conservation through their support for these auction tags and for the purchase of licenses and tags by their members, as well as all hunters,” said DFG Director Charlton H. Bonham.

In addition to the auction tags, DFG is expanding the random drawing program initiated earlier this year through the Automated License Data System (ALDS), when chances for a deer tag and an elk tag opportunity were offered to the public for $5.40 each. The drawings for those two opportunities alone generated more than $130,000 for conservation in 2011.

“In our continued support of hunting and quest to increase hunting and fishing opportunity in California, I’m pleased that our hunters can purchase multiple chances through our ALDS application process for a special hunt tag next year,” said Bonham. ”And I am particularly excited that this year we will include a once-in-a-lifetime desert bighorn sheep tag as well as a coveted northeastern California pronghorn antelope tag.”

As an added bonus for the hunter who draws the sheep tag from that random drawing, a private entity, San Gorgonio Wilderness Outfitters, has offered free guide services for the hunt in the Kelso Peak/Old Dad Mountains zone to the recipient.

“This is a wonderful offer and commitment by the San Gorgonio folks and demonstrates the great support of one another within the hunting community,” said Bonham.

Availability of all fund-raising tags remains contingent upon the approval of annual hunting regulations by the Fish and Game Commission.
Tags: Jews For The Preservation Of Firearms Ownership

Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- According to Forbes Magazine, there are 397 BILLIONAIRES in America now.

A billion dollars is ONE THOUSAND MILLION DOLLARS. Chew on that for just a moment. Few of us can even fathom the sum.

Go here to see the list: http://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/

Gun prohibitionist George Soros made #7. The Walton Family (Walmart) made #9, #10, and #11. Yes, Walmart sells rifles and ammo, but is also a major contributor to the lying cabal of authoritarian elitists knows as “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” (MAIG), an organization which is completely controlled by billionaire Mayor Michael Bloomberg of NYC. Bloomberg drops in at #12 on the American billionaire list.

We don’t know who else on the entire list of 397 American billionaires might be as grotesquely entrenched against an armed American citizenry as Soros or Bloomberg, but you can bet there’s plenty of “quiet money” fueling the “gun control” movement in this nation.

For instance: Warren Buffet is pals with Obama. Where do you think Buffet’s sentiments lie?

On the other side, two notorious conservative billionaires jump right out at you from the list: the Koch Brothers. Charles and David Koch share the #4 slot. If these two fellows are supporting efforts to restore the Second Amendment, that’s great. I hope they are writing huge checks. If they, or any other honestly pro-American ultra rich, are not spending big on protecting our right to keep and bear arms, they should be ashamed.

One wonders if these billionaires (left or right leaning) really think that if America falls into tyranny some day, they will be left with their vast holdings in Aspen, or that mansion in Hollywood will really be a very safe place. One wonders if these people get the “big picture”, i.e. the kind of world their children, grand children, and great grand children will grow up in.

But do American billionaires understand something else? A key point is that wealth only truly has a rational, tangible context within personal freedom … both yours and the next guy’s. What many of these American ultra rich don’t seem to get is that their freedom is because they live in a mostly free country.

Some of them might think that they could do it Idi Amin style, simply ignoring the bone crushing poverty and corruption in the rest of the nation. In a list of the nearly four hundred American billionaires, there are probably a couple who are that morally depraved. But the vast majority of billionaires who earned their own money must be more far-sighted than the average bear.

Self made billionaires see trends. They sense the tides changing before they actually do. They seem to be able to smell financial smoke from upwind. Friends, these are not stupid people we are talking about here. You can call them anything in the dictionary, but not stupid. You cannot acquire a BILLION dollars by being stupid.

But you can be a billionaire and lack wisdom. Gaining wisdom includes a few reality checks from our nation’s billionaires.

If this nation became a police state:

You will still be recognized. Your mug shots are in Forbes Magazine and on the internet.

You cannot hide. At any given time, a hundred people you employ know exactly where you are.

The government you may have been bribing and manipulating for decades just decides to take your money. Happens all the time.

Your bodyguards (or private army) might wonder why they settle for a pay check when they can just shoot you and take it all.

No, a wise American billionaire will realize that his or her wealth must live and grow in freedom based soil. That means defending the Bill of Rights. That means funding those people who, for years have proven they have their hearts and minds in the battle, in this case the battle to restore and then preserve the Second Amendment, the very Guardian of the Bill of Rights.

A recent Gallup poll found that FORTY PERCENT of Americans admitted to owning a gun. You know that at least ten percent actually own a gun and thought best to keep the fact private. HALF OF AMERICA owns guns. So, you ultra wealthy out there, give big, make a big deal about it, give to restore the Second Amendment. Because, if the balloon ever does go up, if you’ve stood with us, we’ll stand with you. In the final analysis it’s just enlightened self interest. I’m sure you know what that means.

Frequent JPFO contributor and strategist, Kirby Ferris, collaborated intensively with Aaron Zelman over the last two years of Aaron’s life. Forty shooters were on hand; 100 hundred rounds were shot, 50 at a time, by the 5-person teams. Ingram (who was a formidable competitor herself) was joined by an array of firearm enthusiasts including Olympic shooters, professionals, celebrities and those who shoot “just for fun.” Honored guests were: Col. Oliver North, Medal of Honor Recipient Marine Cpl. Dakota Meyer and Major Jim Land, who is a retired Marine and the current Secretary of the NRA. Nashville recording artists

Ty Brown and Dustin Miller were among the competitors and concert performers.

All proceeds from “Pull For Our Heroes” will assist in providing housing for our homeless veterans. This year’s event raised enough to house a veteran in need for up to 1000 nights.

“This is an event where we not only enjoy spending time with our comrades and friends in sports and music, but have the opportunity to share and listen to heart wrenching stories from those who have served,” Ingram said. “Some are stories that have never been told. It’s humbling to know our efforts have opened the door to words unspoken and a warm, welcoming place to stay while they heal.”

Plans for the September 2012 “Pull For Heroes” are already in place. In the meantime, Julie concentrates on her musical career; she is currently preparing to introduce her next single, entitled “Thank God,” from her CD ALWAYS REMEMBER later this month.

About Patriot’s Path Foundation:
Founded in 2008, the Patriot’s Path Foundation is 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency created specifically to prepare veterans for, and to assist them in, dealing with the challenges of daily life that will confront them after treatment for mental health related issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, homelessness or substance abuse. As they complete their treatment in the Veterans Affairs Medical System and prepare for social reintegration, the foundation’s mission is to assist veterans exiting from the Martinsburg VA Medical Center’s Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), GOALS (homeless) and Center for Addiction Treatment programs. The Patriot’s Path Foundation (located in Martinsburgh, WV) aims to help recovering veterans successfully re-enter everyday life by providing them individual mentors; safe, affordable transitional housing; help in finding employment; and the basic life skills they need to discover a new way of life. title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- ESS (Eye Safety Systems, Inc.) today announced the release of its new 5B ballistic sunglass.

The leading military eyewear manufacturer’s latest product is the result of extensive research and development and offers advancements in form, fit, and function.

The 5B was meticulously created to offer contemporary style with an exceptional fit that is compatible with helmets and communication devices.

With thirteen years of experience providing eye protection for use in the world’s most hostile environments, ESS understands that creating stylish, military-grade eye products is critical to eye safety. The Vision Council reports that 90% of eye injuries are preventable through the use of proper eye protection*, so the key is to break the barriers to use; namely, the poor aesthetics, imprecise optics and uncomfortable fit that are typical of safety eyewear. ESS sunglasses are designed to the highest military protection, performance, and durability specifications to support peak performance for any wearer without compromising style and comfort.

“The 5B is a perfect fit under any hat or helmet, and its feather-light weight and flawless optics mean you’ll probably forget you’re even wearing sunglasses,” said Brian Ross, ESS General Manager. “It also fits a wider range of both men and women than any other sunglass we’ve yet made.”

The 5B is one of the first ESS sunglasses to offer glare-reducing, ANSI Z87.1-2010 premium polarized safety lenses. ESS is also offering a new suite of frame and lens tints; the 5B sunglass frame is available in either matte black or matte grey with a range of lens tints including polarized mirrored gray, mirrored gray, mirrored copper and smoke gray.

For those requiring optical correction, the 5B can be customized with ballistic polycarbonate prescription lenses, available at www.esseyepro.com.

The 5B sunglass is stylish without drawing undue attention – an important characteristic for the military, law enforcement, and firefighting professionals who must often observe uniform or dress code. Standard ESS 5B sunglasses are compliant with U.S. MIL-PRF-31013 (Clause 3.5.1.1), ANSI Z87.1 2010 Edition and U.S. Federal OSHA. Polarized ESS 5B sunglasses are compliant with ANSI Z87.1+ 2010 Edition and U.S. Federal OSHA. All 5B™ lenses provide 100% UVA/UVB protection. Visit www.esseyepro.com for further details.

In addition, the 5B sunglass is featured in a new charitable sales program. The ESS “Remember 9.11” program offers 25% of ESS’ sales to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in the name of a firefighter who laid down his own life on September 11th, 2001 at the World Trade Center in order to save the lives of many others. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation works to build smart houses for severely-wounded combat veterans, assists the families of fallen public safety officers, and helps injured firefighters recover in burn centers across America. /> The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is a charitable organization set up to follow in the footsteps of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller, who ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center towers on Sept. 11, 2001, carrying 75 pounds of gear on his back, to rescue his fellow New Yorkers. Siller lost his life when the towers collapsed, leaving his wife, five children and six siblings to carry on his memory and share his story. One of the primary missions of The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the military members who have been seriously injured and sacrificed their quality of life in the line of duty. The Foundation currently is in the process of building several custom homes for servicemen, who, as a result of suffering devastating injuries during military combat, are quadruple amputees. Additionally, the Foundation actively supports children who have lost one or both parents as well as assisting seriously injured firefighters. Additionally, the Foundation actively supports children who have lost one or both parents as well as assisting seriously injured firefighters. title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- When members of the industry convened in Park City, Ky., for the 2011 Shooting Industry Masters, they did more than break targets, scare steel and support industry programs.

The Ninth Annual Masters raised $5,200 for the USA Shooting Team.

“A big thank you goes out to FMG for its tremendous support of the USA Shooting Team,” said Buddy DuVall, USA Shooting Team Foundation executive director.

“With the 2012 Olympics fast approaching, FMG’s support is extremely timely, and will help our athletes in the final stages of preparation for London. We appreciate everything FMG does for the shooting industry, from supporting our Olympic shooting team to supporting the NSSF’s First Shots program.”

The Masters, held July 22-23 at the Rockcastle Shooting Center, Park Mammoth Resort, in Park City, Ky., hosted a record-breaking 370 shooters, and raised funds for the USA Shooting Team two ways.

A live auction, emceed by Roy Huntington, publisher of FMG’s consumer publications, was held on the concluding night of the Masters. Bidders competed for the items up for auction, including: a Benelli Super Vinci 12 Gauge; Smith & Wesson Bodyguard; Kimber Solo; a set of Academy of Excellence Winner Engraved Knives, from Benchmade; and a Rapid Reticle, from Pride Fowler, with all proceeds benefiting the USA Shooting Team.

Funds were also raised during the match through the Rent-A-Ringer program, in which industry teams bid to have members of the USA Shooting Team shoot on their team. Seven USA Shooting Team members offered their “guns-for-hire” services, including Jamie Beyerle, Amy Sowash, Keith Sanderson, Brian Beaman, Jason Turner, Sean McLelland and Jake Turner.

“While Sean and Jake were definitely outstanding coaches, they were also wonderful teammates,” said Ron Buschmann, owner of Shooter’s Supply & Law Enforcement Equipment. “They bring respect and honor to us all, and present themselves without arrogance. We are all proud the USA Shooting Team has these two young men representing our country.”

USA Shooting Team members also volunteered their time to assist with the Masters First Shots seminar held during the event.

“It was great to have Olympic shooters from the USA Shooting Team be instructors for the First Shots program,” said Shari LeGate, World Cup medalist. “2008 Olympians Jamie Beyerle and Sean McLelland helped out teaching rifle and shotgun. We had over 27 participants who couldn’t believe Olympians were taking the time to teach them. Donating their time to the Masters’ First Shots program shows what outstanding athletes they truly are.”

In addition to the $5,200 raised for the USA Shooting Team, the Masters also raised $37,000 for NSSF’s First Shots program.

The event was held in conjunction with the presentation of the 2011 Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence Awards presentations. The Shooting Industry Masters is owned and operated by FMG Publications.

For more information on the 2011 Shooting Industry Masters, visit www.shootingindustry.com
Tags: <a

In addition to the mail-in-rebate, consumers also receive an exclusive Folds of Honor silicone SKINZTM, which not only provides an added layer of protection in the field, it helps improves grip and silence the device.

Founded by Major Dan Rooney in 2007, Folds of Honor provides post-secondary educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members disabled or killed during U.S. military service. Major Rooney, a former F-16 pilot who served three tours in Iraq, founded Folds of Honor to ensure that families of fallen service members never have to endure alone. Since its inception, Folds of Honor has raised more than $9.8M for educational scholarships.

The Scout 1000 is equipped with the exclusive Angle Range Compensation (ARC) technology from Bushnell. With ARC, whether the target is uphill or downhill, the rangefinder accounts for the terrain angle and provides the user with the true distance to the target. With five modes of operation, the Scout 1000 provides accurate “shoots-like” yardage in Bow mode, bullet-drop/holdover data in Rifle mode, and a host of other options in BullsEye, Brush and Scan modes.

In addition to a rugged, rubber housing, the Scout 1000 also features the patented RainGuard HD lens coating. The Masters, held at the Rockcastle Shooting Center, Park Mammoth Resort, is owned and operated by FMG Publications.

“We were impressed with the number of companies that entered teams, and the enthusiasm of the record number of industry shooters,” said Russ Thurman, match director, and publisher and editor of Shooting Industry magazine.

“We thank our sponsors, the companies conducting side matches and the Rockcastle Shooting Center for their overwhelming support. Thanks to all for making the 2011 Shooting Industry Masters a tremendous success.”

The Shooting Industry Masters attracted 22 sponsors for the event. Industry manufacturers and supporters also contributed the largest collection of raffle prize packages in the nine-year history of the match. In addition, major companies and organizations sponsored 10 side matches, offering industry teams an opportunity to try a wide variety of shooting venues.

“We had nearly 500 people each day participating in the event, with competitors and volunteers combined,” said Randy Molde, match chairman.

“If the miles of smiles we saw through dirt and sweat at the end is any indication, everybody really enjoyed the event. It was exciting to see so many folks who are used to sitting behind desks all day out enjoying the sport they help make better. We’re thankful they chose to spend the weekend with us to support First Shots.”

FMG also thanked this year’s host, Rockcastle Shooting Center, Park Mammoth Resort, for their assistance with the event, along with the state of Kentucky for the warm welcome it provided Masters attendees.

“The facility at Rockcastle Shooting Center is amazing and has unlimited possibilities for future events,” Molde said. “All of the volunteers were very enthusiastic, well coordinated and very friendly.”

The top teams and shooters were honored during an awards reception at the Rockcastle Shooting Center July 23.

The 2011 Shooting Industry Masters top shooters and teams were:

High Team: Industry Class — Team Sierra Bullets, Darren Leskiw, Tommy Todd, Matt Reams and Mark Walker.

High Shooter: Industry Class — Jens Krogh, Team Benelli 1.

High Lady: Industry Class — Katie Harris.

High Team: Open Class — Team JP Enterprises, Tony Holmes, Kurt Miller, Don Bednorz, Trapr Swonson and John Paul.

High Shooter: Open Class — Jerry Miculek, Team Smith & Wesson 1.

High Lady: Open Class — Tasha Hanish.

The Masters is a handgun, rifle, shotgun competition divided into two classifications: Industry and Open. class="wp-caption-text">Mule Deer Foundation

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah –-(Ammoland.com)- The Mule Deer Foundation and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife presented a check for $283,500 to the Utah Division of State Parks and Recreation for wildlife habitat improvement and management work on Antelope Island State Park which is located in the Great Salt Lake.

The funds were raised from the auction of a Mule Deer tag and a California Bighorn Sheep tag to be hunted on the Island this fall.

The tags were auctioned last February at the Western Hunting and Conservation Expo (WHCE) held in Salt Lake City.

The Mule Deer Tag sold for $265,000 and the Sheep tag sold for $50,000. The WHCE retains ten percent of the sale price.

Mule deer have not been hunted on Antelope Island for more than 30 years. Bighorn Sheep have not previously been hunted on the Island. The bighorn sheep were transplanted to the Island in 1997 by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The sheep herd has served as a source of transplant animals for the West Desert area of Utah.

The most visible Island resident is the bison. “From bison and bighorn sheep, to mule deer and pronghorn, all island wildlife will benefit from this generous gift,” said Director Mary Tullius, Utah State Parks and Recreation.

Mike Styler, Executive Director of the Department of Natural Resources said, “This is a prime example of sportsmen reinvesting in habitat, and in this case the recipient is a great state park. Because of one deer and one bighorn sheep tag, we will have more than $280,000 invested directly into habitat work.”

Byron Bateman, President of Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife said, “The $283,500 raised at this year’s Expo is a win/win for Utah State Parks and the bighorn sheep and mule deer that live on Antelope Island with 100% of the money going directly to projects to benefit both species.”

State Park budgets have been reduced in recent years resulting in layoffs and some parks potentially being shut down. The auctioning of these special tags will bring much needed funds to help maintain and improve wildlife habitat on the Island that wouldn’t be available due to the budget cuts.

“We are glad we can help fund wildlife projects on Antelope Island during these difficult economic times,” said Miles Moretti, President and CEO of the Mule Deer Foundation. “This is a great example of a public/private partnership finding innovative ways to provide funding for the Park.”

In addition to the two auction tags, a public drawing was held for one deer and one sheep tag. The hunts will take place in November.

About MDF (www.muledeer.org) The Mule Deer Foundation is one of the key conservation groups in North America working to restore, improve and protect mule deer, black-tailed deer and their habitat. MDF acknowledges regulated hunting as a viable management component and is committed to recruitment and retention of youth into the shooting sports and conservation. title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- The NRA Foundation’s Friends of NRA program is proud to announce that they have drawn 2.5 million attendees to their events and grossed more than $400 million since the program’s inception in 1992.

“Reaching these goals would not have been possible without all the hard work of everyone involved in Friends of NRA,” said Kyle Weaver, Managing Director of Field Operations.

“The support we receive from our volunteers and attendees provides grants for thousands of recipients across the United States. We thank everyone who contributed, donated and volunteered their time these past 19 years and for helping make Friends of NRA into what it is today.”

Net proceeds from funds raised at Friends of NRA events are equally divided between local and national projects. Local monies are distributed by State Fund Committees based on grant applications while The NRA Foundation funds projects on a national scope.

“It is through the money raised by Friends of NRA that we have supported worthy projects including youth education, firearm training, range development, and conservation efforts across the country for nearly two decades,” said John DaSilva, National Manager of Events and Marketing.

“Protecting our shooting heritage and traditions for future generations is a goal we encourage everyone to support.”

Friends of NRA is a grassroots fund-raising program that fosters community involvement, raises money, and gives 100 percent of the net proceeds to qualified local, state, and national programs. Working with the NRA’s field staff, thousands of volunteers nationwide participate in the program by organizing committees and planning events in their communities. Monies raised at these events go to The NRA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

Visit the Friends of NRA website at www.friendsofnra.org. title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- Flanked by recreation enthusiasts, Governor Chris Gregoire today signed legislation that will keep state park and recreation lands open with revenue from a vehicle access pass known as the Discover Pass.

“It is essential that we keep our recreation areas open to the public,” said Governor Gregoire. “I applaud the Legislature for coming together with a solution that allows us to help keep our state recreation lands open and accessible during the worst budget crisis in the state’s history.”

The Discover Pass will be required as of July 1 for vehicle access to recreation lands and water-access sites managed by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), and Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The pass—which will be available for sale in mid-June—will cost $30 a year per vehicle or $10 for a day-use pass. State recreation lands include state parks, boat launches, campgrounds, heritage sites, wildlife and natural areas, trails and trailheads.

Holders of certain types of fishing and hunting licenses, registered campers in state parks and other users are exempt from some Discover Pass requirements. For details, visit www.discoverpass.wa.gov .

Discover Pass

Once available, the Discover Pass can be purchased at one of nearly 600 sporting goods or other retail stores that sell hunting and fishing licenses. It will also be available for purchase online or by calling toll free 1-866-320-9933. Beginning next fall, the public will be able to purchase a pass when renewing a vehicle license through the Washington State Department of Licensing. The Discover Pass or day-use pass must be visibly displayed in the front windshield of any motor vehicle.

Revenue from the Discover Pass will fill budget gaps created by the loss of State General Fund support for parks and recreation on state lands. Revenue will be split among the three state agencies that provide recreational access to state lands in proportion to their need for general fund replacement: 84 percent to State Parks; 8 percent to WDFW; and 8 percent to DNR.

State Parks, WDFW, and DNR jointly requested legislation that led to the creation of the Discover Pass, intended to provide revenue to maintain recreation access to state lands and meet the increasing demand for outdoor recreation. The legislation was sponsored by Sen. Kevin Ranker, D-San Juan Islands, who conducted stakeholder work and coordinated with other legislators. In addition to providing a stable source of revenue, the legislation provides reciprocal authority for law enforcement staff from each agency, which will improve public safety and help protect state resources.
Tags: Ammoland.com)- The deadly tornadoes that tore across the Southeast on April 27 could be described as “lethal.”

The devastation and loss affected many residents in the states impacted, directly or indirectly. Lethal Human Scent Elimination Company, owned by Clean Control Corporation in Warner Robins, Ga., was indirectly affected by these storms and is raising money to help those in need.

“The South is where my heart is; it’s where I call home,” said Steve Davison, CEO and Owner of Clean Control Corporation. “The people all across the South have a huge sense of pride, humility and love not only for the area in which they call home but for their fellow neighbors. We help each other in times of need. This, more than any other time, is a time of need on such a large scale. A large portion of outdoors men and women live in the South and with our new product, Lethal Scent Elimination, they have shown us support from the beginning. I think it’s only right to give back any way we can. The tornadoes might have been lethal but the human spirit, courage and drive of us Southerners is way more lethal than any tornado will ever be.”

Lethal Human Scent Elimination Company is producing “Lethal” wristbands that will be available for purchase on the Lethal website at www.lethalproducts.com. All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross to assist in efforts to help all the states affected by the recent tornadoes.

The Lethal wristbands will represent the strong, “Lethal” spirit of those affected by the storms and those who have helped the victims by purchasing a wristband.

“The hunting community is a strong, tight knit group,” said Justin Neal, President and Key Account Manager of Rendezvous Marketing Group (RMG), the marketing communications agency of record for Lethal. “It is the hope of all of us at Lethal and RMG that the outdoor industry will come together to support such a worthwhile cause and help not only the hunters and fishermen in the South get back to normalcy, but everyone affected. This is certainly an opportune time to show what this industry is made of and the humanity that come with it.”

Lethal and its parent company Clean Control Corporation encourage everyone to order a wristband, wear it proudly and show the world that they have an unshakeable and lethal human spirit.
