USA --(Ammoland.com)- On the tenth day of Christmas, I hope my true love gives to me…
Ten toys for loading…
Lyman Master Casting Kit I had the pleasure of meeting Mike Venturino at last years SHOT Show and he got me hooked on two things: 1. Moving to Montana and 2. Starting to cast my own bullets. Why? Because it sounds like a whole new adventure in reloading.Lyman Turbo Sonic Ultrasonic Case Cleaner Liz from Lyman showed me one of these babies at the 2011 SHOT Show and I still haven’t gotten one. I can think of all sort of gunny things to clean with this. Brass, dies, gun parts, and especially gas shotgun and AR parts. Oh, and my grubby watch bands that get so nasty at the range.Hornady Lock and Load AP Red team fans We’ve got you covered. 5 station progressive press offers station configuration flexibility. Not getting into the Hornady versus Dillon debate – they both work.Dillon XL 650 We love the blue team as well. 5 Station progressive press with automatic indexing. Enough stations for a powder check step to help avoid unpleasant situations at the range. Pricey, but it works. Forever. We asked for both red and blue so we can have one always set up for rifle calibers and the other for pistol.Giraud Power Trimmer Wow – process lots of rifle brass using that newfangled electric power thing. Trim, chamfer inside, chamfer outside, and deburr – all in one simple step.CED M2 Chronograph Optimized for a broader range of light conditions, this chronograph lets you work at the range in the earlier and later hours of the day – when it’s more likely to be quiet.Dillon Super Swage 600 I can get nearly unlimited .223 brass from the local range, but over half of it is some brand that has crimped primers – hence the need for an easy and consistent way to un-crimp the primer pockets. The Super Swage supports the brass from the inside and simply “rolls away” the crimp.Hornady Lock and Load Case Feeder So I still have this thing about wanting to place bullets by hand while using a progressive reloading press. But it would be cool to have the cases fed automatically…LoadData Subscription An invaluable online resource for reloaders. Over 230,000 loads detailed for your use. Data from most of the major reloading manuals – all in one place. And all for $29.95 a year.RCBS Stuck Case Removal Kit Not that this would ever happen to US, but… In the unlikely event that you get a cartridge case stuck in your resizing die, here’s the stuff you need to get it out – all in one convenient package.

Seven lasers aiming…
Lasers make a great addition to self defense firearms and even light armor defeating rockets. Try these for your Christmas wish list:Crimson Trace LG-850 Brand spanking new for the full size Glock Gen IV platform, this one is compatible with the Crimson Trace Lightguard as it features a rear activation button. Unlike the older models, it also features a master on-off switch. We’ve got one of these on the way for review and will post results soon!Viridian Gen 2 Light & Laser Been looking for a light / laser combo for the Beretta PX4 Storm. This just might be the ticket. 154 lumen light and green laser that can flash or remain constant.Crimson Trace SFL-100 for M72 LAW Anti-Tank Weapon We have it on good authority that Iain Harrisonand the rest of the Crimson Trace PR and Marketing team carry this big caliber combo for personal defense. Maybe you should consider an upgrade as well? It IS your life after all…One note of caution – there is some risk of over-penetration with the LAW, so remember, every anti-tank rocket you fire has a lawyer attached to it.Lasermax Uni-Max Green Always liked the versatility of this one. Small and thin, use it alone or clamp a light on the bottom for a self-configured combo-unit.Crimson Trace MVF-515G Modular Foregrip for AR Rifles Somehow this seems like some form of ‘dual-wielding’ with lights and lasers – but without the X-Box. Gotta get the green laser option but it also comes in red.Crimson Trace LG-402M for Beretta 92/96/M9 The newer mil-spec version is far more weatherproofy and features a front activation switch. We always had trouble with side activation switches as some holsters would activate the laser. Some people were put off by the red death beam coming out the bottom of my jeans.Crimson Trace G10 Master Series for 1911’s Made of tough G10 material, these grips not only look sharp, but are plenty durable. Love the Rosewood versions as well.
Six scales a weighing…

title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- This holiday season honor friends or loved ones by making a donation to the Michigan Nongame Fish & Wildlife Fund in their name.

The recipient will be notified of the donation by receiving a beautiful certificate and a Living Resources patch featuring one of Michigan’s unique nongame species.

A donation of $20 or more makes a difference for nongame fish and wildlife species in Michigan. Species that are endangered, threatened or considered rare in the state benefit from donations to this fund. A tax-deductible gift will help to restore rare species populations and also to keep common species common.

Since the Michigan Nongame Fish & Wildlife Fund was established in 1983, the program has had three main goals:

To restore populations of endangered and threatened species through management and protection.

To maintain present populations of animals and plants.

To promote appreciation and awareness of Michigan’s nongame wildlife and endangered species through education and first-hand opportunities to experience wildlife.

Peregrine falcons, trumpeter swans, piping plovers, Kirtland’s warblers, Mitchell’s satyr butterflies, lake sturgeon and common terns are just a few of the hundreds of wildlife species that have benefited from projects supported through the Michigan Nongame Fish & Wildlife Fund. For more information on projects that have been supported by the Nongame Wildlife Fund visit www.michigan.gov/dnr.

The Michigan Nongame Fish & Wildlife Fund supports a network of more than 100 watchable wildlife sites throughout the state. These sites provide a variety of opportunities to view some of Michigan’s most popular wildlife species. The watchable wildlife program also promotes teaching people how to responsibly photograph and view all forms of wildlife and plants.

Since its inception, the Michigan Nongame Fish & Wildlife Fund has raised more than $9.5 million in support of critical projects for nongame species, but the Michigan Nongame Fish & Wildlife Fund will not continue without donations.

To make a donation in someone’s honor, please make your check or money order out to: State of Michigan, Nongame Wildlife Fund and send it, along with the person of honor’s name and address, to: Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Division, PO Box 30451, Lansing, MI 48909.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state’s natural and cultural resources for current and future generations. class="wp-caption-text">Women of USPSA

SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. --(Ammoland.com)- Ladies, let’s face facts, with just a few shopping days left before Christmas your significant other probably needs help finding you the ideal shooting gift. So here’s a list of gift ideas from the Women of USPSA to help that chronic procrastinator make sure he gets you the right gift.

Guys, listen up! Your wife, mother, niece, daughter, aunt, girlfriend or whatever deserves a great gift. Face it, she’s had to put up with you all year long and Christmas is when that bill comes due. So to help you find the right gift that keeps her happy and you out of the dog house the Women of USPSA have come up with a list of suggestions.

USPSA Membership: The U.S. Practical Shooting Association is a family of over 350 clubs and nearly 20,000 members from across the country that love to shoot and compete. Instead of going your separate ways on that sunny summer Sunday afternoon, get her a membership, grab your range bag and join in on the fun. There are lots of couples that shoot so you won’t be alone on the range. Go to www.USPSA.org to sign up today.

Custom Shooting Shirt: Gemini Custom Apparel (www.g2gemini.com) and TechWear USA (www.TechWearUSA.com) both make completely customizable shooting shirts that are comfortable, breathable and offer women the opportunity to hit the range in something other than the ubiquitous tactical black, tan or OD green shirts. Get her one, she’ll look like a rock star on the range.

iKam Video Glasses: Seeing is believing and with the iKam video glasses (www.i-kamstore.com) the lady shooter in your life will be able to see exactly what she’s doing right (because guys, she’s never wrong) on the range. Used by many of the top shooters – both male and female – these glasses give her the opportunity to not just learn from her shooting but to share her best range highlights with friends and family through sites like YouTube.

Photo Shoot with Yamil Sued: Give your favorite lady a photo shoot with Yamil Sued.

Photo Shoot with Yamil Sued: Instead of going to that local mall photographer why not give your favorite lady a photo shoot with Yamil Sued. Yamil has shot all the top shooters and is recognized as one of the best in the firearms industry. Whether you’re looking for action shots, match candids or portraits, Yamil is the go-to photog to make her look her best. Visit www.hotgunshots.com or contact Yamil at Yamil@hotgunshots.com for more info.

Babes with Bullets Firearms Camp: We hate to break it to you guys but sometimes she’s going to want go shooting without you. That’s where the Babes with Bullets™ camps come in (www.BabesWithBullets.com). They are a series of shooting camps for women held across the U.S. which offer practical pistol training for novice, intermediate and advanced shooters. Whether she’s never held a handgun before, or an experienced competition shooter, there is a camp for her. Send her to camp…. so you can go spend the weekend shooting with the guys.

Tactical Solutions .22LR Barrels: We know it’s hard for you to believe but sometimes we women want something that comes in a color other than black or stainless. Shocking isn’t it? Well Tactical Solutions (www.TacticalSol.com) has just what you need – lots of .22LR products and accessories in lots of…. wait for it…. pretty colors. If she’s smart she’ll pick pink so you won’t try and take her gun to the range.

Shot Timers: You think baby needs a new pair of shoes? Well she also needs a shot timer. How else will she know when she’s shooting faster – and better – than you? Competitive Edge Dynamics (www.CEDhk.com) and PACT (www.PACT.com) are just two companies with a number of different models and color options to choose from.

Hearing Protection: Good hearing protection is one of the most important items a shooter can have in their range bag and the electronic models are among the most popular with competition shooters. Pro Ears (www.ProEars.com), EHP (www.EHPHearing.com) and Peltor (www.Peltor.com) each offer a wide selection with a variety of styles and, most importantly for her, lots of colors to choose from.

Gift Certificates: If all these suggestions are just too difficult for you to handle then take the easy way out with a GENEROUS gift certificate from Brownells (www.Brownells.com), Dillon Precision (www.DillonPrecision.com) or MidwayUSA (www.MidwayUSA.com). While a gift certificate tells her you couldn’t think of anything to get her, a big dollar amount on it lets her know that you love her just the same. Did we mention generous?

IPSC World Shoot in Greece: 2011 marks the return of the IPSC World Shoot and this time the international practical shooting championships will be held in Greece. While slots are limited and the allocation for the U.S. has not yet been announced, a trip to Greece to compete against the world’s best is the ideal present for the woman who has everything – especially since the estimated cost can be in excess of $3,000 to $5,000. Of course she’s worth every penny and more, so contact the U.S. Practical Shooting Association for more information and slot availability.

Women of USPSA Gear: Finally, the woman shooter in your life needs to know she’s not alone. There are plenty of great, and talented, women in the practical shooting sports and www.WomenofUSPSA.com is where you’ll find them. Get on your computer and go to the Women of USPSA online store to order hats, shirts, hoodies and more featuring the stylish Women of USPSA logo. We’ve given you a great list of ideas so the least you can do to thank us – and show her you care – is to buy some of our gear.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all the Women of USPSA.

About:
National Shooting Sports Foundation

NEWTOWN, Conn --(Ammoland.com)- —The holidays are just around the corner.

As hunters, shooters, collectors or just plain plinkers, it’s a natural instinct to want to share our enjoyment of firearms with others. What better way to do that than to make a gift of a firearm to a family member, close friend or relative?

The first thing to remember if you’re thinking about giving someone a gun is that . . . it’s a gun!

You already know that ownership of a firearm brings with it some serious legal and ethical obligations that other consumer products don’t. So let’s look at some questions you may have about giving a firearm as a gift.

The first question you have to ask is whether the intended recipient can legally own the firearm where he or she lives. More than 20,000 different gun laws on the books, even the kinds of firearms that law-abiding citizens can own vary from place to place; for example, juveniles (under age 18) generally speaking are precluded by law from possessing a handgun. Check out the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) website for an overview of local laws and, whatever you do, don’t forget that you can never under any circumstances transfer a firearm to someone you know or have reasonable cause to believe legally can’t own one. That’s a federal felony, so be careful.

Though there’s no federal law that prohibits a gift of a firearm to a relative or friend that lives in your home state, some states—, California for example—, requires you to transfer the gun through a local firearms dealer so an instant background check will be performed to make sure the recipient is not legally prohibited from owning the gun.

The ATF recommends that if you want to give someone a new firearm, rather than going to a gun store, buying it on your own and giving it to, say, your father, consider instead purchasing a gift certificate from that retailer and giving that to Dad as his present. That way he’ll get exactly the gun he or she wants, and there’s no question about who is “the actual buyer of the firearm,” which is a question any purchaser must certify on the Federal Form 4473 at the time of purchase.

Interstate shipments of firearms must go via a common carrier, not the U.S. Mail, and you have to declare that the package contains an unloaded firearm.

What if you want to give “Old Betsy,” your favorite old deer rifle, to your son or daughter as a college graduation gift?

Again, in most states, there’s no law that says you can’t, but some states require even inter family transfers to go through a licensed dealer. Remember, you can never transfer a firearm directly to another person who is a resident of a different state. In that case, you must transfer the firearm through a licensed dealer in the state where the person receiving the gift resides. Using a gift certificate from a firearms retailer near where the recipient lives might be a good solution. Pre-1898 antique firearms are generally exempt from the dealer requirement. Be safe and check with your dealer or local law enforcement before you hand over your prized possession.

It’s often an emotional moment when a treasured family heirloom is passed down to the next generation. These moments are part of what our cherished enjoyment of firearms is all about and represent that unique bond that sportsmen have with their fellow enthusiasts.

So enjoy the holidays but do it right!

About NSSF<br
