We encourage people to be prepared for whatever the future holds and we try to give them the survival skills that they need to survive in any environment.

Q: How long has your Blog been active?
Robert Richardson Off Grid Survival Blogger

Q: What do you do for a living or is your blog a full time job?
A:The site is starting to become a full time job, but I also own a small sign shop that takes up some of my time.

Q: Do you have a specific agenda or goal of your blog?
A: I guess the main goal of the website is to encourage people to be prepared for whatever the world has in store for them. While I talk a lot about survival and preparedness topics my other mission or goal is for people to fall in love with the outdoors. I’m an avid hiker, hunter, fisherman & backpacker so the site is really a labor of love.

Q: As a survival expert what is the hardest step or task for people to accomplish when prepping for a survival situation?
A: I think there are a couple of things. The biggest obstacle is usually a lack of urgency. People tend to put off prepping until it’s too late. They usually start thinking about it when their stuck up on their roof after a hurricane or some other disaster has taken place..

The second problem is actually the notion of prepping itself. Prepping without preparing yourself mentally and physically can actually become a big downfall in a survival situation. One of the most common things that I come across is people who stock up on thousands of dollars worth of gear and then somehow think they are prepared.

Having survival gear and other preparedness items sure makes life easier in an emergency but there’s nothing that can replace training and good old fashion knowledge.

Q: What is one thing that you want your readers to know about you?
A: That I practice what I preach. When I’m not blogging (or working) I can usually be found out on a trail somewhere hiking, hunting or fishing. I do this for a couple of reasons. First, I absolutely love the outdoors and have been living this lifestyle since I was a very young kid. Second, I realize the importance of training and staying fit. All of these outdoor activities keep my mind and body in peak physical condition and prepared for whatever may come.

Q: What was the best thing you did on your blog that got the most reaction from your readers?
A: I guess it would actually be something that you guys are doing by interviewing me and some of the other guests that you have on your site. I think people appreciate when bloggers expose their readers to other points of views or stories. People always seem to like when we have guest bloggers or recommend other survival related websites.

I think knowledge is power, especially in a survival situation, and the more information we can give to our readers the better our site becomes.

Q: What was the worst thing you did on your blog that got the most reaction from your readers?
A: Well I’m not sure if it’s the worst thing I ever did, but I did a post awhile back that was critical of certain so called survival T.V. shows. While some of these shows are entertaining to watch, they often give people a warped sense of what it really takes to survive.

I wrote an article that pointed this out and also talked about how dangerous some of the things presented on these shows would be in a real survival situation. I guess some fans of the show didn’t like the article and we got a lot of pretty nasty comments.

The thing about my site is I run it less as a business and more as a way to educate, inform and have fun. I’m going to say things that make some people mad from time to time, but if I worried about pleasing everyone I don’t think my site would be a fun or informative place to visit.

Q: Obviously since we are featuring you your blog is Pro gun? What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights in America?
A: Well I could probably rant on this subject for awhile but for the sake of this interview I will try to be brief.

Yes, OffGridSurvival.com is very pro gun. I think it’s one of our fundamental rights as Americans and in my opinion one of the most important right that we have. I think George Washington summed it up better than I can when he said” Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself.” Without the second amendment the rest of our rights wouldn’t stand a chance.

That being said, I think our current political environment is very disconcerting. As a gun owner I’m very worried about what laws may be passed in the coming years. The laws that are currently on the books are confusing enough, especially if you travel or hike with your firearms. I think gun owners really need to pay attention to what is going on in Washington D.C..

Q: In general what is your favorite firearm and why?
A: Well I know I’m running the risk of seeming a little less than manly with this answer, and a few of the people who read this may fall off their chair in laughter, but my favorite gun is probably my Ruger 10/22. The reason why has a lot to do with survival (and the fact that I’m cheap and I like to shoot a lot). In general I think it’s probably one of the best all around guns in a survival situation.

Q: What would be your choice of firearm in a survival situation?
A: Now this is a question that can usually cause very heated debate among survival minded people but If I could only bring one gun it would probably be my Ruger 10/22. There are a couple of reasons that I really like it as a “survival gun.”

First, if you’re planning on carrying a rifle in your survival bag you have to think about how much ammo you can comfortably carry. I can easily carry my Ruger and a couple hundred rounds of ammo without adding an amount of weight that would make the gun a burden to carry. Second, the reliability and the ease in finding parts are both reasons that this gun is at the top of my list. Third, in a survival situation it’s often easier to find small game which makes this gun a winner in my mind.

Q: What hunting or shooting sports hobbies do you have?
A: I love to hunt and fish so I try to get out there as often as possible. When I can’t find the time for hunting I often head out into the desert to shoot at some targets. I had someone blog on my site about 3 Gun competitions so if I can find one I might check those out soon.

Q: Of the topics you cover what do you enjoy writing about the most?
A: I love to write about anything that has to do with survival or the outdoors, but lately I really like to write about the challenges of urban survival. I think it presents a number of challenges that often make for interesting and thought provoking articles.

Q: What things would you like to do or expand in your blog to in the future?
A: I just added a tactical section to our site. In the future I want to build out that section of the site to include more articles that are related to self defense in an urban environment.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti gun or maybe just unsure of the purpose of guns in our society today?
A: Well to those that are antigun I would tell them that nothing they do is going to prevent people from committing crimes. I often wonder what makes them think that passing more laws in going to stop one criminal from getting his hands on a gun? There called criminals for a reason, they have no respect for the law and passing more laws does nothing to help the situation. All it does is ensure that law abiding citizens will have a harder time protecting their homes and families from danger.

As for the purpose of guns in our society today, I still believe that it’s one of our most important rights that all other rights hinge upon. On a less political note, there are still a good number of people in this country that rely on their guns as a tool to help feed their families.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?
A: I would just like to thank everyone at AmmoLand for the opportunity to talk about the importance of preparedness and survival training. If you would like more information on what it takes to survive in any situation I invite you to check out my website at Ammoland.com)- AmmoLand.com’s featured Gun Blog of the Month is the The Armed Citizen. ( www.thearmedcitizen.com )

The Armed Citizen is an online blog that archives news stories from across the USA of citizen use of firearms to save their own lives from criminals.

Guns save lives, and are necessary for protection. That’s according to research from David Burnett, who track incidents of defensive gun use at TheArmedCitizen.com.

The Armed Citizen, LLC is a website dedicated to arming citizens not just with guns but with knowledge and information. As a website, the Armed Citizen has existed for several years, originally created and maintained by Clayton Cramer and Pete Drum in response to gun control advocates and criticisms of gun ownership. The blog documented stories of armed self-defense starting in late 2003, accumulating nearly 4,000 entries by 2010.

These stories were compiled into a study which was published on the November 2009 cover of the NRA’s America’s First Freedom magazine and frivolous lawsuit was filed against The Armed Citizen alleging copyright infringement. This was one of hundreds of lawsuits filed by a group of copyright trolls known as Righthaven. TAC was in good company, since the Second Amendment Foundation, the Second Amendment Sisters and the Drudge Report were also sued. In order to escape a prolonged and potentially bankrupting legal battle, TAC’s owners settled and, believing that success is the best revenge, used donations to rebuild the website.

The Armed Citizen Blog Interview:

Q: What is your Blog’s Official Name?
A: The Armed Citizen

Q: What is your Name?
A: David Burnett

Q: Where are you located?
A: Central Kentucky

Q: What is the point of view or purpose of your blog?
A: To provide a resource for armed citizens. Our main goal is to have an ongoing list of defensive gun use stories as illustrations for why people need to be armed, and to highlight the positive aspects of firearms. Almost all the people in the real-life stories we post would be dead if they didn’t have a gun. That’s a huge factor to consider when someone decides to enact stricter gun laws.

Q: How long has your Blog been active?
A: Since 2003 initially. It was begun by Clayton Cramer, who worked with Pete Drum. I joined the crew around 2007. It was relaunched in its current state at the first of the year.

Q: What do you do for a living or is your blog a full time job?
A: I work a security job, teach concealed carry classes and I’m currently developing some business plans for a computer programmer. (I have a degree in business.)

Q: Do you have a specific agenda or goal of your blog?
A: Guns are the great equalizer. More people need to own them — a lot more. And not just OWN them but KNOW them. We need to eradicate ignorance about firearms. Our motto is “Armed with knowledge.” The most powerful weapon any of us has is located between the ears. A gun is just a tool; being an armed citizen is about a lot more than just having a pistol in your closet. It’s a mindset. That’s what we want to encourage.

Q: We have all heard or read about the troubles with Righthaven, extroting money from sites like yours. Can you relay us the story again and how was it resolved?
A: It really does boil down to legal extortion. We used to copy stories from the newspapers or TV stations and reprint them, providing full citation and links. Sometimes if a story was long, we had to excerpt it. The newspaper we quoted had the article available freely, and had more than a dozen buttons on the page inviting the reader to share the article. We were hardly making any money on the blog, it was more of an academic exercise. But a lawyer in Nevada decided there was a gold mine in suing mom-and-pop blogs for money. Unfortunately, it wasn’t our battle to fight. There was too much to lose, so we settled. Our fans were awesome with the donations, we didn’t lose a penny in the end. But we still hope Righthaven’s litigious little jihad comes to an end very soon.

Q: What advise can you give other Gun Bloggers on protecting themselves from shady practices of those like
Righthaven?
A: Don’t copy any images or text from any newspapers or online media! Especially the ones funding Righthaven. Don’t even link to them. If they’re declaring war on the very blogs that sustain them with huge referrals, they don’t need us to send them any more traffic.

Q: What was the best thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: We had an article published on the cover of the NRA’s “America’s First Freedom” magazine. That was quite a highlight. On both sides, I daresay…

Q: Obviously since we are featuring you your blog is Pro gun? What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights in America?
A: Never better! The law is more friendly than ever, and we’ve obviously made some significant political strides. But guns shouldn’t be partisan. Self-defense and self-preservation aren’t liberal or conservative. They’re human. We need to help people understand that, and help them understand that if they will stand up for themselves and make themselves a less attractive target, they’ll be safer.

Q: What is your favorite firearm and why?
A: I’m a Glock man. Simple, effective, efficient.

Q: What things would you like to do or expand in your blog to in the future?
A: Oh goodness! There’s a lot I have in mind, and a lot we have coming. I’m in talks with people in different countries to take the concept nationwide. We want to create an article database, and reach out especially to people who aren’t experienced with guns. Those are the people I like talking to the most.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti gun or maybe just unsure of the purpose of guns in our society today?
A: Well, first of all, come to the website. Read the stories of the everyday citizen who simply prepared for the possibility of a criminal assault just like you prepare for a car wreck (with a seat belt) or a fire (with a fire alarm) or a virus (by installing virus protection). Things like that happen every day. The ones who are prepared are far more likely to survive. The people who aren’t armed because they feel apprehensive about a piece of metal will be less prepared, and more attractive to criminals. But I swear to you, if you just visit a range once with someone who knows what they’re doing and is safe with firearms, you’ll at least come away with a more educated opinion.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?
A: Well really, I’d like to make an appeal to people first to visit the website and share our stories. Second to support our sponsors, and consider becoming a sponsor themselves. Third, I’m looking for someone who might be willing to share the vision and workload of the blog if anyone wants to contact me. Other than that, the goal is to make every capable citizen a law-abiding gun owner.

If every criminal were told that their victims were armed, crime would almost be nonexistent.

David Burnett

Visit:Gun Values Board

USA - -(AmmoLand.com)- AmmoLand.com’s featured Gun Blog of the Month is the Gun Values Board. www.gunvaluesboard.com

A loose knit but effective coalition of volunteer gun bloggers and forum participants.

The Gun Values Board is all about knowledge, sharing and fun with firearms. It started on 2006 as a meeting place to help enthusiastic people answer common firearms questions and since then it’s been evolving and building a steady stream of useful content for the gunny.

The following is an interview with Nancy, one of the Gun Values Board Administrators and active gun blogger for the board. You can visit Nancy’s slice of Gun Board at www.gunvaluesboard.com/nancy/blog/

NRAHuntersRights.org Blog Interview:

Q: What is your Blog’s Official Name?
A: Gun Values Board Blog

Q: Is Gun Values Board a blog or a forum?
A: It is Both and neither . Gun Values Board is a community site. The members are all gunners of one sort or other, many of them experts and collectors. The forum (www.gunvaluesboard.com/forums/) currently has close to 53,000 post, which we are very proud of, making it a really great source of information. The blog is really a collection of blogs written by members on the Gun Values Board. Each member has their own blog, the common denominator of the blogs is the name and the topic. You can read the best posts on our top articles page www.gunvaluesboard.com/top-articles/ A lot of the people blogging on the board started out as regular users asking and answering questions on the forum, and in the course of their time on the board, started blogging as well.

Q: What is your Online Name that you may post under?
A: Nancy

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am currently located in Israel. All of the other GVB bloggers are American

Q: What is the point of view or purpose of your blog?
A: It would be hard to pinpoint our point of view, since as I have already mentioned, I am not the only blogger on gun values board. It is easier to talk about the purpose of the GVB blogs, which is to share gun knowledge. Since most of our bloggers are either collectors or experts in one gun kind or another, most of the posts are “hardware” type posts, sharing knowledge about the technical side of guns, And post about particular guns of interest. Obviously, there are some gun rights and Second Amendment posts as well, since living in America, and loving guns leaves you with very little possibility to stay away from gun politics.

Q: How long has your Blog been active?
A: The Blog has been active for a couple of years. In the passed year, more and more members have started their own blogs on our site as well. I would love to get more people blogging on the board. It’s a really nice solution for someone who wants to write but doesn’t really like promoting their blog, since the readership is built in, and the blogs are promoted along with the site in general.

Q: What do you do for a living or is your blog a full time job?
A: None of us are full time bloggers. I personally am a crafts person, and the rest of our bloggers have their day jobs as well.

Q: Do you have a specific agenda or goal of your blog?
A: I would say that the goal of the blog is to promote good, in depth, reliable knowledge about guns. I think knowledge is strength, and by promoting it, and making guns more familiar and less mysterious , the fear of the unknown, which is the root of the anti gun movement, will be removed, pulling the carpet out from under most of their pro gun control arguments.

Q: Do you have any other digital sites?
A: Yes, I am involved in several other sites, though non of the sites are mine.

Q: Who else is involved with Gun Values Board?
A: We have a great team including some very experienced people answering tons of questions posted everyday on the forum. The best way to get to know them is to check out our about page on www.gunvaluesboard.com/about-the-team.html . Of course, other than the actual team there are lots of other registered members who contribute in making the site what it is.

Q: What is one thing that you want your readers to know about you?
A: I am really not the issue here . I think that there are very interesting bloggers on GVB for example

Siliconsoccer www.gunvaluesboard.com/siliconsorcerer/blog/ who specializes in Remington and pre 1898 firearms,

Rboatright www.gunvaluesboard.com/rboatright/blog/ who among other things, has an interesting series of post about the stages of fixing up an old gun.

Flynnscot www.gunvaluesboard.com/flynscot/blog/ has a series of posts about valuing your gun and selling it on line.

5madfarmers www.gunvaluesboard.com/5madfarmers/blog/ Who is a collector, through and through.

These are just a few of the bloggers, and I would like to get the word out about them. Most of them started blogging after being active participants on GVB. I enjoy reading their posts so much and learn so much from them, I want to share the wealth.

Q: What was the best thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A:That’s a hard call – we have posts with over 6000 views but with no comments…and posts with less views but much more comments. One of my favorite posts is this one by silicon soccer, which has also made its rounds on the blog sphere http://tiny.cc/w0up3

Q: What was the worst thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: I wrote a well intentioned post about some blogs I love and I spelled one of the names wrong. (I corrected it, obviously). But it was like dropping a bomb in the gun sphere. http://tiny.cc/63ekrae4ev

Q: Obviously since we are featuring you your blog is Pro gun? What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights in America?
A: As I mentioned before, there is no way to be a gun lover in America, without getting involved in politics. So yes, the blog is Pro Gun, and as I see it, the only way to improve the gun rights situation America is via education. There is a misconception about guns, and the evil they do, instead of the people behind the guns, and this needs to be straightened out.

Q: What is your favorite firearm and why?
A: Wow, tough question. The jury is still out on that one

Q: What hunting or shooting sports hobbies do you have?
A: I spend as much time at the range as I can, which at this point in time isn’t saying much, unfortunately, but I hope to be back shooting regularly in a short while.

Q: Of the topics you cover what do you enjoy writing about the most?
A: Personally, I like writing about gun stories in the news. The other bloggers on the board are more technical for the most part and write about their collections, valuation, and their love for guns and shooting. One of our newest bloggers, Gunman 1104 posted this wonderful post a couple of days ago. Definitely food for thought. http://tiny.cc/xiiyc

Q: What things would you like to do or expand in your blog to in the future?
A: I would love to get more bloggers writing on Gun Values Board, so that it can fulfill its potential as a central site for gun experts to blog in, and share their knowledge from.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti gun or maybe just unsure of the purpose of guns in our society today?
A: Its been said before but is so true, Guns don’t kill, people and stupidity do. It would be better if they directed their energy to being anti crime, and anti criminals, than to be anti gun. It would solve the issues they are worried about in a much more efficient manner.

Also, I suggest that people who fear guns get to know them. It will take some of the mystery away, and help them realize that the power is in the hands of the person holding the gun, not in the gun itself.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?
A: I would like to invite gun lovers and experts to start blogging on Gun Values Board www.gunvaluesboard.com Each user has their own personal blog, the readership is already there, and we do what we can to promote the site and blogs further. It really is the easiest and most care free way to start a blog. Its all ready for you – the editor, the blank page and the readers. All you have to do is to find the worlds.

Visit: www.gunvaluesboard.com
Tags: The Anti's are Blogging are You?

Blogs are popular for many reasons: they’re fun, easy to create and can be easily personalized. They give anyone with the right background the chance to be an authority on the web.

They can also help you protect your rights and traditions by giving you a chance to make an impact on how the public, the press – and even politicians view sportsmen’s issues.

The secret is that blogs run on a technology called RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication. Simply put, whenever you post content on your blog, it can be indexed in Google or other online search engines almost INSTANTLY.

That means that you have the power to instantly publish content directly onto the web, which can be seen by millions of people – including members of the public, the press and politicians.

And on any given day, when those people perform a Google search for “hunting”, fishing” or “antis” – your blog makes your opinion visible – which means your voice can make the difference on any given day.

Can a simple blog translate into political power? YES!

Politicians and pundits check the “blog-o-sphere” daily for the pulse of the people – meaning you.

Blogs are easily the most powerful tool in the fight to protect your rights and those of your fellow sportsmen and women – and it’s as easy as typing.

Which brings us to our next question – are you blogging yet?

As a member of the USSA, you can help simply by blogging! class="wp-caption-text">GrassRoots South Carolina

South Carolina --(AmmoLand.com)- On May 22nd AG Henry McMaster announced that the NRA had given him an him an “A+” rating in the June 8th primary for the Republican nomination for Governor.

We at GrassRoots were surprised and disappointed, because we had previously compiled a study of McMaster’s record as AG. Our research showed quite clearly that McMaster is no friend of gun owners. McMaster has, in fact, worked against our interests. Our study was published on the front page of the May 2010 issue of The Defender. If you would like to share it with friends, its available online.i

People have been asking how GrassRoots and the NRA could be so far apart in their opinions. We can not speak for the NRA, nor can we find any evidence to support their “A+” rating. What we can do is explain how we at GrassRoots determined that McMaster is a poor choice for gun owners.

GrassRoots believes that the best way to predict what a politician will do in the future is to look at what he has done in the past. We went through all of McMaster’s published AG opinions as far back as 2005, to see if they were good or bad for law abiding gun owners. Most of his AG opinions have nothing to do with guns. Some that do involve guns really don’t concern GrassRoots, law abiding gun owners, or CWP holders. These gun related opinions that do not concern us include the legality of a school offering a class in gunsmithing,ii whether reserve and off duty officers may carry on school property, iii and whether a convicted felon may hunt with a muzzle loader.iv

An AG opinion that does greatly concern GrassRoots, and that should greatly concern our members and CWP holders everywhere, is the one dated March 5, 2009, where AG McMaster said counties may ban CWP carry in county parks. South Carolina law says CWP holders may carry in county parks.v

SC also has a firearms pre-emption law (§ 23-31-510) that prohibits local governments from regulating the carrying of firearms. Oconee County passed an ordinance banning firearms in county parks. In spite of the pre-emption law, AG McMaster issued an opinion stating any local government could ban CWP carry on public property within its borders if it posted signs giving notice that CWP was banned.

McMaster claimed the pre-emption law does not apply to CWP carry!

GrassRoots gave a detailed analysis of McMaster’s March 5, 2009 AG opinion in our The Defender article. We concluded that his opinion misinterpreted SC law generally, and could become the basis for undercutting the entire CWP law. We said “Gun owners need to let McMaster know how they feel about his anti-gun opinion.”

GrassRoots says Henry McMaster is bad for our state’s gun owners. The NRA gave him an “A+” rating. GrassRoots has explained why we believe McMaster is bad for SC gun owners. Has the NRA explained why they think he’s good for SC gun owners? Has the NRA explained its “A+” rating in spite of McMaster’s March 5, 2009 AG opinion?

Once again, GrassRoots finds itself in total disagreement with the NRA.

Which organization has been proven right in the past? Which organization has given you the facts on which it bases its conclusion? Which organization can you trust for honest answers on issues important to South Carolina gun owners and CWP holders?

i http://www.scfirearms.org/TheDefender/DefenderMay2010.pdf

ii http://www.scattorneygeneral.com/opinions/pdf/walters l d 2-16-07 os-8334 credit certificate prog.pdf

iii http://www.scattorneygeneral.com/opinions/pdf/crawford k r 6-4-07 os-8397 off-duty police, reserve officers – concealed weapons – school property.pdf

iv http://www.scattorneygeneral.com/opinions/pdf/2008/knotts j m os-8560 3-17-08 felony or CDV conviction hunting with muzzleloader.pdf

v http://www.scattorneygeneral.com/opinions/pdf/2009/whitmire w r os-8584 3-5-09 concealed weapon in county park.PDF

About:
The mission of GrassRoots is to educate and promote acceptance of responsible firearms ownership within the State of South Carolina and to protect the rights of law abiding citizens with regard to firearms ownership. Initially we focused all of our attention on merchants who posted against the lawful carrying of concealed weapons in their stores. Since then we have broadened our scope and are currently increasing information delivery to all firearms owners, SC concealed weapons permit holders, and firearms instructors. As GrassRoots continues to grow we will further broaden our objectives to improve all aspects of lawful ownership and carrying of firearms in South Carolina. Visit: www.scfirearms.org
Tags: A: The blog was originally just a way for me to post different events that I went to or was involved in. Boomershoot actually was what kicked it off. After putting together the blog I figured I did all that work I might as well make other use of it. I began blogging about gun-rights, constitutional issues, self-defense, politics, and things I’m involved in.

Q: How long has your Blog been active?
A: The site was built in May of 2008 specifically for a Boomershoot post, but blogging remained light until recently. My bachelors in Electrical Engineering and getting a job were a higher priority followed by buying a house with my wife.

Q: What do you do for a living or is your blog a full time job?
A: I am actually a software engineer and write code for critical embedded real-time systems. When I screw up worse things than your phone crashing happen. That is why I don’t.

Q: Do you have a specific agenda or goal of your blog?
A: My goal is to educate people about gun rights, why the idea of limited government is important, expose them to the idea of self-reliance, and to just try to get people to think.

Q: What is with the Minutemen title?
A: The best compliment I ever got was from my mom when she described me to someone. “He’s an Eagle Scout both literally and figuratively.” It is no joke either. The title actually grew from that because of how I act and conduct myself. The statement of who and what the militia and minutemen were, is long and drawn out and a cause for great modern debate as supposedly now it’s the National Guard. I’m here to tell you it’s not, it is any and every citizen that is able and willing to do what is necessary to protect those around them in their own community.

If you look at my blog my slogan is, “Because waiting for help just isn’t an option.” Waiting is not going to solve anything, you are the help! In the back of my truck is a go bag, emergency response bag, tow straps, come along (mechanical winch), and just about anything else you can think of to “Be Prepared”. I even carry my dive equipment during boating season.

I was a life guard in high school and acted as one at scout camp. If a swimmer went missing the dive response teams were 15 minutes out at minimum. After 15 minutes your job is most likely corpse recovery except in rare cases of miracles. It was then I fully realized and understood depending on outside help can get you or someone else killed.

Ever since I’ve done everything I can to help someone when they need it. I’ve pulled out more cars than I can remember now during A: I may look big, scary, and intimidating. That assessment is completely wrong unless you piss me off. How wrong is it? The Square of Virtue is a marvelous thing; also my wife married me didn’t she!?

Q: What was the best thing you did on your blog that got the most reaction from your readers?
A: My Boomershoot videos seem to have attracted a lot of attention, especially the 2010 main event video. I don’t get much in the way of comments however that video seriously made the rounds in the blogosphere.

A: Currently I think the outlook is extremely good. The current administration while very anti-gun is actually afraid to move and push forward. I think this is partly due to the large backlash that occurred during the midterm elections after the first assault weapons ban. Businesses like Starbucks currently feel it better to respect local laws instead of creating a gun free zone, and the VPC and Brady campaign are throwing a fit. Starbucks holds its ground and gets an impromptu thank you by creating A: I participate in Boomershoot every year. When I have time I do IPSC and Steel, though I haven’t been able to lately. I am trying to get into competition F-Class and Tactical. I do make sure to hunt every fall though to stock the freezer for myself and family as well as keep down the varmint population year round.

Q: Of the firearms topics you cover what do you enjoy writing about the most?
A: Shooting events, Boomershoot especially. The photos and videos made at Boomershoot and associated events are like no other. Shooting events in general I love, because despite how the media portrays the Gun Culture; they’re the nicest bunch of folks you will ever meet, seriously.

I’ve spent a lot of time around hot-rodders and other groups. At a drag strip, no one would ever let me take their car down the strip for a run, even a low grade junker. At Boomershoot this year a man let me shoot his M82A1 with a BOHRs not just once, but twice with match grade ammo, $5.50 – $6 bucks a shot. The man didn’t even ask for anything in return. Ry Jones was dolling out 5 shots on his .50 cal to people who wanted too as well. The people love their toys, they love sharing them, and love talking about them.

Q: What things would you like to do or expand in your blog to in the future
A: As readership increases I might add a forum, I would also like to cover more events. Just requires more time and money than I have right now; eventually it will happen.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti gun or maybe just unsure of the purpose of guns in our society today?
A: If you have never shot before, contact myself or someone else in your area and go actually shoot at least once. Guns are inanimate objects and tools. Fearing them does nothing but place you in a weaker position. People will do bad things with or without the guns. With firearms though, even someone physically disabled can defend themselves. Go to an actual shooting event, not a gun show; see what it’s like and what it’s about.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?
A: There is a lot of information out there, the environment is changing daily. If you’re a shooter, try and bring someone new the next time you go. Educate people; it’s the only way to fight ignorance.

Visit The Minuteman at : A: Marshal Halloway aka Kjell Heilevang

Q: Where are you located?
A: Howard, KS

Q: What is the point of view or purpose of CAScity?
A: CAS city’s goal is to promote Cowboy Action Shooting and their organizations like SASS, NCOWS, Western 3Gun, their clubs and non affiliated clubs.

Q: How long has your CAScity been active?
A: Since 1995

Q: Technically CAScity is more than a blog what else it there to see and do on your website?
A: The CAScity forum and the integrated classified section are features in addition to our news and blog section which also promotes the television show Cowboys on Outdoor Channel.

Q: You can not possibly do everything on CAScity, who else helps you out?
A: The CAScity blog and news section is primarily maintained by me. The forum section is moderated by 20 volunteers among cowboy action shooters, many of them have been moderators for over 10 years.

Q: What do you do for a living or is your CAScity a full time job?
A: CAScity is part of Down Range Media owned by me and my wife, Teresa. Maintaining CAScity is part of my full time job as a consultant, producer and editor for Outdoor Channel with emphasis on shooting sports and personal defense. This is done in partnership with Michael Bane, producer of Shooting Gallery, Cowboys and The Best Defense.

Q: Do you have any other digital sites?
A: I maintain and have the editorial responsibility of DownRange.TV owned by Outdoor Channel. Michael Bane and I established DRTV in 2007. It is a multimedia web site with the primary goal of promoting Outdoor Channel’s original production on Wednesday night, programs like the ones mentioned above and S.W.A.T. Magazine TV.

Q: For those that have no idea, what is Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS)?
A: Cowboy Action Shooting is a highly multifaceted shooting sports where participants compete with original of replica firearms from the 19th century, primarily from 1860 to the turn of the century. The sport was formally established in the late 1970s by former IPSC shooters, later organized by Single Action Shooting Society. In later years, organizations like National Congress of Old West Shootists and Western 3Gun came on board and combined they administer around 100,000 shooters worldwide.

Q: Marshal, some of our readers may not believe this but you have a lot more interests than CAS, what else gets you fired up you these days?
A: I am blessed to have a job which also integrates my hobbies. Hey, some even claim I shouldn’t call it a job…. LOL

All in all, as an editor involved in many levels of content production (text, stills, video, podcasts), travelling to events around the country, there is little time for much beside work. 2/3 of my time is devoted to DownRange.TV and projects together with my partner and good friend, Michael Bane.

I am also fortunate to have a wife who shares my interests and we just returned from Arizona where we both participated in the National Championship of Cowboy Action Shooting.

Q: What is one thing that you want your readers to know about you?
A: I have always been engaged and devoted to get more people involved in shooting sports not just cowboy action shooting. My priority is more related to demystifying the sport and make people understand that shooting sports are comprised of 99% “regular” people and 1% top shooters. We have given the 1% well deserved and good coverage in a variety of media, but I do believe it is important from a recruiting standpoint to show all levels including the recreational shooters.

Q: What was the best thing you did on CAScity that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: I cannot pinpoint anything in particular, but what needs to be mentioned is the fact that we have been able to run the site for as long as we have and where people can find a starting point to join the sport , meet new friend and interact with each other. I think our consistency in running the site and the moderators excellent work in keeping the forum a friendly place for everyone is the major factor for a good feedback and loyalty.

Q: What was the worst thing you did on CAScity that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: Worst thing…. the fact that I have not had time to resume the production of Cowboy Action Radio, the podcast related to the sport. I cannot promise if or when at this time, but I would like to get it started as soon as time allows.

Q: What is your favorite firearm and why?
A: The most difficult question of all…. I would say it is a shared first place between the Colt Single Action Army and 1911.

Q: What things would you like to do or expand in CAScity to in the future?
A: Our biggest challenge is to recruit new shooters and especially the younger generation. We are currently working with SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) to establish projects which hopefully will increase membership. CAScity, DownRange.TV and the show Cowboys will all be a part of this.

Q: Obviously since we are featuring you that means CAScity is Pro gun? What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights in America?
A: I am a Second Amendment Absolutist and as concerned about our gun rights as my fellow NRA members. I believe our major focus is “Not to take what we have for granted”. I hope McDonald v. Chicago can establish once and for all that the Second Amendment is an individual right no matter where you live in the US.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti gun or maybe just unsure of the purpose of guns in our society today?
A: Step away from the fixed mindset for a moment and spend some time with gun owners in their own environment. I have personally witnessed anti gun people change their mind after being invited to a gun club and spent some time with gun owners at a shooting range. Let me add that Cowboy Action Shooting is a perfect door opener for people who for various reasons cannot understand the so called gun culture and I personally know fellow shooters who has gone from being totally anti gun to become active shooters and NRA members.

Visit: A: There are two main bloggers, and occasionally we allow a “guest blog.”

Q: What are the names of the writers or contributors to the NRA Hunters Rights Blog?
A: I (J.R. Robbins) am Managing Editor and I am helped by Assistant Editor Justin McDaniel. I have been with NRA for 26 years, including stints on American Hunter Magazine, InSights (NRA’s junior magazine) and as Manager of Communications for NRA Programs. After years of writing how-tos and where-tos, I realized how much threats to hunting are escalating in this country and devoted myself to speaking out against these threats, and promoting what NRA does for hunters. I mostly hunt deer, antelope, black bears, ducks, geese, pheasants, grouse, quail and woodcock.

Justin has been with NRA for four years, the last two of which have been spent working on www.nrahuntersrights.org. Before joining my staff, Justin also spent two years in our Communications Department helping to promote NRA Programs. He is a lifelong hunter and NRA Member and returns to his home state of Pennsylvania as often as possible to hunt deer, turkeys, and a variety of small game.

Q: Does each person have a specialty or area of interest that they focus on?
A: We blog about anything that affects hunters’ rights. This could include ridiculous media statements about hunting or smacking down false information communicated by anti-hunting groups. We expose the bureaucracy that inhibits hunters’ access to public lands and makes hunting too expensive and too burdened with paperwork and blizzards of red tape. The number of hunters in this country is declining. We need to make hunting more accessible and less complicated, especially for newcomers, to reverse that trend.

Q: Where is the NRA Hunters Rights Blog located? A: The exact url is: http://www.nrahuntersrights.org/blog/Default.aspx. /> A: Through the Hunters’ Blog and the Discussion Forum we make hunters aware of escalating threats to hunting, what NRA is doing about them, and we stimulate discussion from hunters on these topics. It is imperative that hunters become more informed and vocal about these issues. We need more hunters showing up at public hearings and taking part in public comment periods on issues that affect hunting. You can bet the anti-hunters are showing up at these meetings and sending in comments on many hunting issues.

Q: How long has your Blog been active?
A: Both the Hunters Blog and the Discussion Forum have been up since November 2008.

Q: Do you have a specific agenda or goal of the NRA Hunters Rights Blog?
A: While defending the Second Amendment will always be NRA’s first priority, 80 percent of our members hunt, and every issue that’s important to hunters is important to us-especially access to hunting lands and retention/expansion of hunters’ gun rights.

One goal of the blog is to make people more aware of what NRA does for hunters-we have nationally known youth and women’s hunting programs and we are involved in legislation that affects hunters at every level of government. NRA-backed Open Fields and No-Net-Loss legislation work to get hunters access to private and public hunting lands.

We work with several federal agencies to expand access to federal lands and to keep public shooting ranges open. We’ve helped pass “Right to Hunt” Constitutional amendments in 10 states. We’ve supported youth-mentored hunting laws and fought attempts to ban hunting for doves, bears, wolves, prairie dogs and other species. There’s a lot more, but you get the idea.

Q: Do you have any other digital sites?
A: The Hunters’ Blog is part of www.nrahuntersrights.org. We launched this site late in 2007. This site offers links to outside headlines, gear write-ups, a monthly Gift Giveaway, links to other hunting resources, and several ways to find state/federal public hunting lands and even a state list of guides and outfitters.

There is also a Trophy Gallery where we post photos of hunters and their downed game.

Q: What is the biggest issue facing hunters today that most concerns you?
A: It has become too difficult for the average guy to find a place to hunt, or even to find a range where he can sight-in, practice marksmanship, or teach his kids to shoot. Fighting to keep ranges open, and to protect and expand hunter access to private and public lands is our most important-and most difficult-challenge. Access to hunting land is directly connected to the number of hunters. If the number of hunters continues to spiral downward, it threatens the very existence of the tradition of hunting.

Plus, it means even more revenue lost for wildlife conservation. It’s hunters who pay for wildlife management in this country.

Q: What is one thing that you want AmmoLand Shooting Sports News readers to know about the NRA Hunters Rights Blog?
A: The Hunters’ Blog and the Discussion Forum are two very visible places where your opinion can be heard! We want your voice on this site!

Q: What was the best thing done on the NRA Hunters Rights Blog that got the most reaction from your readers?
A: In November, a California high school student was expelled for having two unloaded shotguns locked in his off-campus truck. He had the guns because he had gone bird hunting before school. People were outraged.

Q: What was the worst thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: No one thing comes to mind, but it is true that some hunting issues can be divisive. Even so, we want to hear from all hunters and make sure we understand their point of view.

Q: What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights or in you case hunter rights in America?
A: We have battles ahead and hunters must be informed and active in those battles. Restrictions on traditional [lead] ammunition are being pushed hard by anti-hunting groups. As America continues to become more urbanized, more hunting lands are lost, and more restrictions on guns are called for by new residents of areas previously open to shooting and hunting. And it’s not just fringe anti-hunting groups we face today, either.

It’s well-funded, radical environmental groups that would block hunters’ access to public lands, and sympathetic media who trumpet their cause.

Q: Of the topics you cover what do you enjoy writing about the most?
A: Hunting is in my blood, and to have slowly evolved from writing “Ten Hot Spots for a Tree Stand” to “Abysmal Harvest Angers Wisconsin Hunters” has been an enjoyable, and meaningful, process.

Q: What things would you like to do or expand on in the NRA Hunters Rights Blog in the future?
A: I would like to open up the Hunters’ Blog to more typical hunters who have an informed opinion on a hunting issue they would like to share.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti hunting or maybe just unsure of the purpose of hunting and guns in our society today?
A: Hunting is an essential wildlife management tool. Decisions about hunting should be based on solid science researched by qualified wildlife biologists.

Hunting decisions cannot be made based on emotion, politics or personal agendas. Hunters are the original conservationists, and without us, many species would never have come back from near-extinction at the beginning of this century.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?
A: Hunters tend not to get riled up and active until hunting is threatened in their own favorite spot. At that point, it’s often too late. Stay informed about issues anywhere that could affect a hunter’s rights, and get active in opposing them.

Visit: A: Upstate New York, in the Berkshires

Q: What is the point of view or purpose of your blog?
A: Initially, I was focused on ending the war on some drugs. But my focus quickly expanded to government abuses of all kinds, culminating in the realization that government itself is the source of the war on our freedoms.

As Claire Wolfe said, “It’s too late to fix it by working within the system”.

I used to think that implied violent revolution. Now I think we need to build a parallel economic system to take over when the dinosaur inevitibly dies. Agorism seems like the right idea to me.

(Agorism is a political philosophy founded by Samuel Edward Konkin III and developed with contributions by J. Neil Schulman that holds as its ultimate goal bringing about a society in which all “relations between people are voluntary exchanges – a free market.”)

Q: How long has your Blog been active?
A: I’m pretty sure I started in 1999, but the earliest post I still have is dated January 20, 2000.

Q: What do you do for a living or is your blog a full time job?
A: I write software. Except for a three-year burn-out in 1986-1989, during which I rang up groceries for a health food store in Cambridge, MA, I’ve been writing software for a living since I graduated from MIT in 1978.

Q: Do you have a specific agenda or goal of your blog?
A: I’d love to change the world, but it’s really just a hobby.

Q: What is one thing that you want your readers to know about you?
A: I just want the government to leave me alone.

Q: You have said “I’m a libertarian”.. not everyone is sure what that means today? What does that mean to you?
A: I use L. Neil Smith’s definition, the Zero Aggression Principle (ZAP):

“A libertarian is a person who believes that no one has the right, under any circumstances, to initiate force against another human being, or to advocate or delegate its initiation. Those who act consistently with this principle are libertarians, whether they realize it or not. Those who fail to act consistently with it are not libertarians, regardless of what they may claim.”

This is very simple, and most people agree with it, but it has wide ramifications. For example, it forbids taxation, and prohibition of drugs, and regulation of firearms, and any kind of state-mandated licensing or registration, of anything.

Q: What was the best thing you did on your blog that got the most reaction from your readers?
A: I get surprisingly little reaction from my readers. But my most read essays are “The Lie of Cannabis Prohibition“ and “Waco Justice” .

Q: What was the worst thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: I have said some very angry things that made me afraid that the feds would come to my house and kidnap me (e.g. “Waco Justice”), but so far, I’ve seen no evidence that they pay attention to what I say at all.

Q: Obviously since we are featuring you your blog is Pro Gun? What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights in America?
A: L. Neil Smith said it best in

“The Atlanta Declaration” ( – “Every man, woman, and responsible child has an unalienable individual, civil, Constitutional, and human right to obtain, own, and carry, openly or concealed, any weapon — rifle, shotgun, handgun, machinegun, ANYTHING — any time, any place, without asking anyone’s permission.”

I concur, with every fiber of my being.

Gun rights are inalienable, and nothing anybody can do can change that at all.

But you were probably asking about the politics of gun rights. There have been some promising legal developments, but there are still a lot of people who don’t believe we should be allowed to own guns, and a lot of legislators who would gladly ban them all if they could get the votes.

We won’t be out of the water until (L. Neil Smith again) any one of us can walk the length of Manhattan Island with a handgun openly on his hip, unmolested by any freelance or official parasite.

Fortunately, as Mike Vanderboegh reminds us often, no matter how outnumbered we are politically, gun owners still get to vote, from the rooftops, though we all hope and pray the hoplophobes don’t force us to go there.

A: The right to own guns is part and parcel of the right to life.

Every person has the absolute right to defend his or her life and the lives of his or her loved ones. That implies the right to make, sell, purchase, own, and carry tools to help with that defense.

If you don’t believe people have the right to own and carry guns, always and everywhere, you don’t believe they have the right to live.

If you believe that any government has the authority, no matter how big a majority voted for it, to regulate that right, in any way, you believe that other people’s lives are yours to control.

You are a slave driver, and you want to make me your slave. I decline.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?<br

His commentary has been featured in GUNS AND AMMO, HANDGUNS and GUNS magazines (where he is a featured columnist). Other work of his has been featured on numerous freedom-oriented Internet sites and, to his surprise, he has become a much followed Gun Rights activist who is changing minds on the War on Guns!

War on Guns Blog Interview:

Q: What is your Blog’s Official Name?
A: I generally post under my real name. On some social media sites, I post as dcodrea.

Q: Where are you located?
A: Northeastern OH.

Q: What is the point of view or purpose of your blog?
A: No-compromise/no sacred cows gun rights activism mixed with social commentary, argument, and occasional twisted humor.

Q: How long has your Blog been active?
A: Since Jan. 2005

Q: What do you do for a living or is your blog a full time job?
A: The blog pays nothing–well, that’s not quite true–I think I make a couple hundred bucks a year off of Google ads that never seem to relate to the subject matter. I also am a paid columnist for Guns Magazine and Examiner.com. Stuff I do that’s not gun-related I keep separate.

Q: Do you have a specific agenda or goal of your blog?
A: To point to hypocrisies and injustices, and to encourage gun owners to adopt creative ways of responding to them. And also to attract/nurture like minds.

Q: Do you have any other digital sites?
A: I do this primarily for me.

Q: What was the best thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: I don’t consider successes based on reader reactions. I’m happy to help nudge the dialog in the direction of what some would call a more “radical” insistence on having our rights recognized.

Q: What was the worst thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: I just don’t think in terms of bests and worsts. There will always be those who don’t like what I do or the way I do things. I truly don’t let it bother me.

Q: Obviously since we are featuring you your blog is Pro gun? What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights in America?
A: Without a major social upheaval, which history shows us can happen to any people at any time, I believe we’re looking at some expansion on the status quo, with continued federal, state and local efforts to advance “reasonable restrictions.” In other words, I don’t believe any group in power voluntarily cedes it without some form of “or else” disincentive. I fear all that needs happen for an infringement to stand is for the Supreme Court to refuse to hear a challenge and for gun owners to accept it.

Q: What is your favorite firearm and why?
A: I guess my M1 Garand. It’s fun, plus I appreciate its history and ingenious design, and have never once hurt my thumb.

Q: What hunting or shooting sports hobbies do you have?
A: When I get time, I enjoy introducing new people to shooting more than any other aspect of it.

Q: Of the topics you cover what do you enjoy writing about the most?
A: I always get a kick out of letting rights abusers know what I think of them. And it’s fun to expose celebrity hypocrites and ignorant propagandists masquerading as journalists.

Q: What things would you like to do or expand in your blog to in the future?
A: The blog itself will probably stay as is for a while. I’ve got a domain name for it but it’s still on blogspot, and I suppose I could jazz up the template, but I’m really more into substance than appearance and it’s just not a big enough priority for me, especially with the focus on writing daily Gun Rights Examiner columns.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti gun or maybe just unsure of the purpose of guns in our society today?
A: I don’t try to change minds. There are plenty out there trying to fill that niche, and that’s not for me. I will encourage and welcome those with open minds. If I can get them to dip their toe in the pool, then maybe wade in and splash around, some will venture into deeper waters. But my function is to say what’s on my mind. If it resonates with some, fine. If it doesn’t, I’m not going to let them impede my efforts.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?
A: I’d like to ask those who regularly read my stuff, those who think they get value from it. to help me promote it by sharing links. The Examiner column in particular has proven to be quite an interesting adventure. I started out with a local column just over a year ago and it has now expanded to a national column with other Gun Rights Examiners in 16 cities. That has potential to reach an even wider audience, but we can’t do it alone–we hope our readers will share links and an intro paragraph with their friends in emails, on blogs, forums, etc (but please don’t republish the entire column or people won’t visit our pages.) And don’t forget to check out Guns Magazine every month.

Thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself to your visitors here. I appreciate it.

The War on Guns Blog is a great place to check out daily for Davids’ personal comments and quick notes on The War on Guns.

Visit: A: Since February 2007.

Q: What do you do for a living or is your blog a full time job?
A: I was working as an Investor until the markets melted down, now I’m cowboying, a lowbrow word for entrepreneur which really means I’m scratching for income doing various things. I worked at the a premier biotechnology company as an automation engineer for 22 years before all that.

Q: Do you have a specific agenda or goal of your blog?
A: To promote guns and self-defense for what they really are, tools and a human right. Guns are just tools, they can be used for many things, including just fun.

If I become an Internet hundred-thousand-heir, that would be great. OK, a ten-thousand-heir would do.

Q: Do you have any other digital sites?
A: I’m just another normal person who might be your neighbor, or the guy in line behind you at the store. I love my family and my country. If I didn’t, why would I be willing to defend them?

Q: What was the best thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers? A: Deconstructing the lies, half truths and anti-gun propaganda often brings the biggest reactions (in hits, links and comments), I got 10K hits a week on such as: Guns scare journalists or expressing my sometimes controversial views: but what I enjoy most is when I am able to reach someone who is either negative on guns or sitting on the fence.

At a “Fun Shoot” last year, as an instructor, I introduced a good dozen people to shooting for the first time. The youngest was about 16 and the oldest about about 70! They had a great time and profusely thanked me. It was pretty cool (and really exhausting, but worth it).

I noticed how many new shooters commented on how nice I was. That is because of the propaganda machine I’m working against. Portraying gunny’s as scary, mean people.

Q: What was the worst thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers? A: Oddly, the worse thing was probably the blog itself. Some enemies (in the HOA, nothing to do with the blog) discovered my blog and decided to use it against me. They combed through hundreds of posts and cherry pick a couple to complain to the local District Attorney about me, see: Nothing too bad came of it (I got three new readers, the police officers that investigated!) but it shows the environment here in lefty California.

Q: Obviously since we are featuring you your blog is Pro gun? What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights in America?
A: Improving. The Heller case was key, the next ones are even more important. I think (and hope) the American people are waking up to the nanny state agenda. Gun rights people have been fighting the leviathan for decades and the gun banners can’t get away with it without at least everyone knowing about it. As people notice the government is trying to control every little things in their lives, they’re getting more and more active about.

Q: What is your favorite firearm and why?
A:That’s a hard question, like asking me what my favorite tool is.

Sidearms – Most accurate and fastest with the 1944 Colt M1911A1. I carry (when I can) a 2000 Heckler & Kock USP Compact .45 ACP.
A: Making a working gun out of one that isn’t, target shooting, Steel Challenge (!), trap, skeet, long range rifle shooting. There are a lot of guns I want and will get, money permitting.

Q: Of the topics you cover what do you enjoy writing about the most?
A: Victories! New shooters, expanded gun rights, guns, new technology and leprechauns. OK, I lied about one of them.

Q: What things would you like to do or expand in your blog to in the future?
A: Get some paying advertisers, move off blogspot and stay current in the expanding communications universe. I mentioned I’m on Twitter, I see no use for Facebook but I am paying attention to new tech.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti gun or maybe just unsure of the purpose of guns in our society today?
A: Guns are not icons of evil, they are inanimate and take ALL direction from the human that is holding it. Blaming the tool for the actions of the person is childish. If your anti-gun, or just unsure of their role, you should learn about guns. Learn to shoot (or at least try it) to start. You’ll probably find that it’s fun. Big fun.

If you’d like to try shooting, contact me and I’ll either take you shooting myself or help you find someone who will. Gunnys are generally some of the nicest and most generous of people.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?
A: Some people seem to find anonymous blogging suspicious. I would love to blog under my real name. The reason I don’t is the hysterical society I currently live in. In the oh-so-uber-liberal San Francisco Bay Area, being a gunny can be a real liability. People call the police on you without honest reasons, I’ve had co-workers try to smear me by rumor and malicious hazing. I cannot afford to jeopardize my career possibilities any more than I already have. It’s bigotry, plain and simple. Hell, it’s probably illegal, but there it is.
A: NFA Gun Trust Lawyer’s Blog

Q: What is your Name?
A:David M. Goldman

Q: What is your Online Name that you may post under?
A: Gun Trust Lawyer

Q: Where are you located?
A: Jacksonville Florida

Q: What is the point of view or purpose of your blog?
A:Provide information on various state laws and the National Firearms Act and how to purchase, own, and transfer firearms within their state.

Q: How long has your Blog been active?
A: 18 months, but we started as an offshoot from the Florida Estate Planning Lawyer’s Blog. Total around 2.5 years

Q: What do you do for a living or is your blog a full time job?
A: Estate Planning, Probate, Asset Protection Lawyer

Q: Do you have a specific agenda or goal of your blog?
A: Continue to build and represent Second amendment rights of individuals and business entities in the United States.

Q: Do you have any other digital sites?
A:YES, http://www.JacksonvilleLaywer.pro http://www.FloridaEstatePlanningLawyerBlog.com and we also have http://www.JacksonvilleCriminalDefenseLawyerBlog.com

Q: What is one thing that you want your readers to know about you?
A: Second career lawyer who like to help people be successful in their business interests and asset protection. I was a serial entrepreneur in the computer industry until deciding to help people protect their assets.

Q: What was the best thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A:Instructions and downloadable examples for ATF Form 1, Form 4 and Form 20 http://www.guntrustlawyer/form1.html http://www.guntrustlawyer/form4.html http://www.guntrustlawyer/form20.html

Q: What was the worst thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A:Once in a while we make a mistake on a state law, or the law changes. We appreciate when we have the opportunity to correct or enhance our website.

Q: Obviously since we are featuring you your blog is Pro gun? What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights in America?
A: I am hopeful that 2A rights will continue to be defined and apply to the states through incorporation.

Q: How did you get started specialzing in NFA guns?
A: A local gun store approached me and asked me to review the quicken trust they had been using. They were concerned about creating liability for themselves and their clients. After reviewing the trust and seeing the many problems with traditional trusts, I offered to fix the issues. They agreed and the first true gun trust was created. Many have used traditional trusts and some claim to have NFA language but none to the extent that we do. We now have more than 75 lawyers in over 40 states that help people plan for disability, death, and succession with firearms related issues.

Q: Who are the typical owners of NFA guns?
A: Surprisingly we see many police officers and high net worth individuals who own them. Generally as soon as people find they are legal, they want them.

Q: What is your favorite firearm and why?
A: I love the Thompson Machine Gun, I just love the way it looks. I know its not accurate and hard to control. I recently purchased a 6MM fully automatic air gun for my son that is a replica of the Thompson Machine Gun, I think its his favorite also.

Q: What hunting or shooting sports hobbies do you have?
A: When I lived in Texas, I use to shoot a lot and have been deer and quail hunting. Recently we have begun to explore skeet shooting.

Q: Of the topics you cover what do you enjoy writing about the most?
A: How to protect yourself from the ATF and how it might be interpreted.

Q: What things would you like to do or expand in your blog to in the future?
A:We are looking at ways to modify the trust to do things that have never been done with a trust before.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti gun or maybe just unsure of the purpose of guns in our society today?
A: Guns don’t kill people, criminals kill people. If it goes much beyond that, I agree to disagree.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?
A: The best way to teach someone to shoot is with a silencer. If they are legal in your state, you should try one.

The NFA Gun Trust Lawyer Blog on the web at A: Just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Q: What is the point of view or purpose of your blog?
A: It’s really to help everyone to do things:
1.	Understand that they should be as prepared as possible
2.	Teach them how to be prepared

Q: What got you started blogging?
A: My job, I was working for a web design firm and part of my job included creating and maintaining blogs for clients.

Q: How long has your Blog been active?
A: A little more than a year.

Q: What do you do for a living or is your blog a full time job?
A: Sure, doesn’t everybody? My agenda is to spread self reliance to the people

Q: Do you have any other digital sites?
A: I have a few right now, but there not all ready for the public just yet. But I think the preparedness community is going to be effected in a strong way but what we’re planning on releasing.

Q: What is one thing that you want your readers to know about you?
A: Just that I’m a fellow prepper trying to help people learn.

Q: What was the best thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: Surprisingly one of my most popular posts was a simple post about the benefits of honey. It has since gotten more traffic than all other posts.

Q: What was the worst thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A:I can’t say I’ve ever had a strong negative reaction from the readers besides the occasional negative comment on a post.

Q: Obviously since we are featuring you your blog is Pro gun? What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights in America?
A: Well, the future is looking very bleak at this moment. It seems that people everywhere have forgotten the importance of the 2nd amendment. Although here in Utah we have general freedom with firearms, in states like California is becomingly increasingly ok to ban guns and eventually illegalize them for regular citizens.

Q: What is your favorite firearm and why?
A: I like the Glock 21, not just for the high caliber and cool design, but for the amazing durability and resilience.

Q: What hunting or shooting sports hobbies do you have?
A: Mostly just recreational shooting with a variety of weapons.

Q: Of the topics you cover what do you enjoy writing about the most?
A: I really like posting about new gadgets and self reliance, but I enjoy almost every topic on my blog.

Q: What things would you like to do or expand in your blog to in the future?
A: Ultimately I want the blog to be a library for preparedness, self reliance and survival.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti gun or maybe just unsure of the purpose of guns in our society today?
A: This is a great question. When I grew up I traveled a lot, and in certain areas there is just an “anti gun” culture. It wasn’t until I got older that I realized the importance/purpose of guns. Recently here in Utah a gunman went into a mall and started shooting. Well he did kill some people, but who knows how many peoples’ lives were saved that day thanks to an off duty officer who was carrying his gun with him.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?
A: My parting remarks would be that life, especially these days, is unpredictable. Anything could happen so it is always a good idea to be prepared for as much as possible.

The Survival Spot Blog has a great selection of articles covering topics, like survival gardening, food storage, self defense, health, gear and wilderness survival skills.

Take some time and visit our friends at A:GunPundit.com

Q: What is your Name?
A: Shelby Murdoc

Q: What is your Online Name that you may post under?
A: I usually just go by ‘Murdoc’

Q: Where are you located?
A: West Michigan, USA. Not everyone in Michigan is like people in Detroit.

Q: What is the point of view or purpose of your blog?
A: I wanted to set up a site that covered guns, gun politics, and gun issues. I’m also a freelance gun writer and wanted an online presence to help promote that.

Q: How long has your Blog been active?
A: GunPundit has been running since September 2007. I try to post at least a couple of times per day.

Q: Do you have a specific agenda or goal of your blog?
A: Well, GunPundit is decidedly pro-gun. The media is usually so biased against guns and gun owners that it’s tough to get a fair shake. If I can help keep gun owners aware of important gun news and issues, as well as keep them up to date on the latest and greatest guns and gear, I’ll consider it ‘Mission Accomplished.’

Q: Do you have any other digital sites?
A: Yes. I’ve blogged about military issues at Murdoc Online since 2003. (www.murdoconline.net) I started up GunPundit so that Murdoc readers interested in guns could read that coverage without wading through articles on tanks, troop levels in Iraq, and nuclear submarines.

Q: What is one thing that you want your readers to know about you?
A: I’m a gun owner and (to borrow a phrase) I think it’s important that the right to keep and bear arms is not infringed.

Q: What was the best thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: Posting pictures and information about new guns and gear always gets some readers excited. Cool photos grab attention. And highly-anticipated products bring in a lot of people who are searching for more info.

Q: What was the worst thing you did on your blog that go the most reaction from your readers?
A: I posted a handy little graph from a local gun group that badly misrepresented the amount of gun violence in states with strict gun control compared to states with more relaxed restrictions. After the error was pointed out and I investigated further, I posted an update with correct numbers.

Q: Obviously since we are featuring you your blog is Pro gun? What do you think the outlook is for the future of gun rights in America?
A: Yes, definitely pro-gun. I think gun rights have a generally bright future in America, but the next few years is going to be a real test to see if the gains over the past decade or so can be held and built on.

Q: What is your favorite firearm and why?
A:That’s a tough one. I enjoy the AR for modularity and the AK for the simplicity and reliability. I don’t think you have to be “one or the other.” I’ve also got a soft spot for the good old M1 Carbine. It’s a pleasure to shoot.

Q: What hunting or shooting sports hobbies do you have?
A: Though I live in Michigan, I’m not much of a hunter. Most of my shooting is either testing firearms and accessories or just plinking for fun. I don’t think anyone should need an excuse to go take a few cracks.

Q: Of the topics you cover what do you enjoy writing about the most?
A: I think I enjoy reading and writing about tactical-type guns and gear the most. The stuff is cool, field-ready, and currently very popular. It’s fun to shoot, and with popularity so high there is a massive stream of new guns and gear coming out every month.

Q: What things would you like to do or expand in your blog to in the future?
A: The main thing I’d like would be to just have more time to do more of the things I already do. Blogging regularly is a fairly large commitment, something that a lot of folks don’t understand. If I had time, I’ve always wanted to try out some podcasting and do more formal reviews of guns and gear on the site.

Q: What would you like to say to those that are anti gun or maybe just unsure of the purpose of guns in our society today?
A: Well, just the standard “when guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.” There’s no magic wand to wave to make all the guns (or all the bad guys, for that matter) just disappear forever. Even with police, everyone is ultimately responsible for his or her own safety and the safety of their family and property.

Q: What parting remarks or comments you would like to make or promote?
A: There are a lot of great bun blogs, sites, and forums out there. Don’t read just one or two. The internet allows a lot of communication and sharing of ideas between people who are widely separated. All gun owners, whether they own for sport, hunting, protection, or just plain fun, should be on the same side. The proponents of stricter gun control always try to split the groups apart, so don’t fall for the lines about “it’s not YOUR guns I want to take.”
<div
