I want to thank all those visitors who expressed concern and offers for help, when their AmmoLand visit resulted in a message from their browser or Google reporting AmmoLand as a potential threat. We were notified of a problem, with in minutes of the attack, through our web monitoring tools and we immediately took action to remove the threat. The file in question was not available to a typical browser session and your risk of being the subject of a breech to your PC or Mac is highly unlikely.

Since our security monitoring systems identified the security problem on Ammoland we have completed a full security audit of our web serving environment, website code, scripts and databases. We are running the most current versions, patches and updates with our content management software, advertising software, directory software, website databases, operating systems and technologies. Ammoland.com also continuously runs security audits on our local computer environments to verify we are up to date and clean of any Trojans, viruses and malwares.

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC — -(Ammoland.com)- Zebedee T. Graham, Special Agent in Charge of the Charlotte Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the burglary of the Yard Shop at 522 Edgefield Road, Belvedere, South Carolina, a federally licensed firearms dealer.

On November 4, 2009, after regular business hours, some person or persons forcibly entered the gun dealers business and stole 20 firearms, mostly handguns.

The burglary of the gun store is being investigated by the ATF RAGE Unit (Regional Anti-Gang Enforcement) in Aiken County that consists of ATF, the Aiken Department of Public Safety, the North Augusta Department of Public Safety and the Aiken Sheriff’s Office.

TRENTON, NJ —-(Ammoland.com)- Special Agent in Charge Matthew W. Horace of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ATF Newark Field Division, New Jersey State Police Superintendent Rick Fuentes, and Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford announced the arrest of a Manahawkin, New Jersey resident for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

An investigation conducted by the Firearms Task Force based in Trenton, New Jersey revealed that firearms were being sold by Christopher Lawson, 31, out of his residence located in Manahawkin. Lawson has a prior felony conviction for resisting arrest. Lawson sold to an undercover agent from the task force a Harrington and Richardson .22 caliber revolver and a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun. A federal search warrant was obtained for the residence located at 252 Matey Avenue. ATF special agents,  State Police detectives, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office detectives, and police officers from the Stafford Township Police Department searched the property and recovered 20 shotguns, 6 rifles, and 3 revolvers.

This joint investigation illustrates the collaborative effort of law enforcement agencies at the federal, state, county, and local levels working together to keep guns off our communities streets, said Horace. This ATF task force quickly acted on developed information and seized these firearms before they were able to be sold and possibly utilized in violent criminal acts.

GLOCK Rough Textured Frame Pistols: G19 RTF2 and G23 RTF2

Smyrna, GA - At the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) Meeting/Expo GLOCK, Inc. released its two newest pistols. The GLOCK Model 19 in 9×19 and the G23 in .40 caliber are now offered with the optional Rough Textured Frame (RTF2).

The G19 RTF2 and the G23 RTF2 join the G17 and the G22 as pistol models offered with the new textured grip.

The NASGW is comprised of wholesalers, manufacturers, and independent sales reps – both national and international – all of whom are primarily involved with hunting and shooting sports, equipment and accessories. The NASGW Meeting/Expo provides an unmatched educational, marketing and communications opportunity for the hunting and shooting sports wholesaler, manufacturer and sales professional.

The RTF2 finish was developed after direct feedback from the United States Special Operations community. There are many instances where the environment offers difficult to manage wet and humid conditions. In order to continue providing cutting edge solutions, GLOCK developed the RTF2. The newly designed frame incorporates hundred of “polymids,” or miniature spikes on the front, rear, and sides of the grip resulting in a definite increase in traction.
