Grass Roots North Carolina for Firearms Education

North Carolina --(Ammoland.com)-Grass Roots North Carolina for Firearms Education’s annual legislative tactics seminar, taught by GRNC president Paul Valone, will teach you how to better defend your rights.

Far beyond the typical “write-your-congressman” approach, the updated and expanded seminar will feature hardball tactics for making politicians and corporations accede to your demands.

Learn why citizen groups often fail, and why the political process is not “broken.”

As one sage put it: “The legislative process works just fine. It just doesn’t work the way you think it does.”

Following the seminar, GRNC will conduct its meeting of the board of directors, after which attendees are invited to join us for drinks and dinner.

Springfield, MO --(Ammoland.com)- Many first-time gun owners have questions about their gun in particular and about owning a firearm in general.

The recent ammunition shortages created a new interest in reloading—the process of reusing ‘spent’ cartridges. Bass Pro Shops will welcome firearm novices and enthusiasts to be a part of Gun Primer Weekend at all participating locations (U.S. stores only excluding Destin, Miami and Branson).

Bass Pro Shops has developed the Gun Primer Weekend, to provide advice and assistance on everything related to guns and accessories. During Gun Primer Weekend, Bass Pro Shops will have experienced and knowledgeable instructors to teach 35-45 minute long seminars on topics such as reloading, purchasing a gun, safety tips, carry and conceal laws and regulations on firearms.

National Rifle Association

FAIRFAX, Va. --(Ammoland.com)- During last November’s elections, NRA members and gun owners throughout the Badger State sent a clear message to elected officials that a strong Right-to-Carry law must be a legislative priority.

Residents of Wisconsin sent their legislators to Madison to secure their freedom.

To ensure we are prepared to meet the challenges posed by anti-gun forces and answer questions our members have about this legislation, NRA-ILA Grassroots will be hosting a series of workshops throughout the state. Please plan on attending to learn more about the bills, as well as what you need to do as gun-owners to assist in our efforts.

At this meeting, NRA-ILA Staff will discuss the bills, as well as what each of you need to do to ensure victory. NRA State and Local Lobbyist Darren La Sorte will be on hand along with NRA-ILA Grassroots Staff to lead the workshop.

This meeting is absolutely free and beverages and light snacks will be provided. The workshop will run about 60-90 minutes. Please make plans to attend one of our events and encourage your fellow NRA members and Second Amendment supporters to attend as well.

Al Redmer, Jr. is a lifetime Maryland resident with a strong background in business, government and community service. Redmer will use his vast experience of government and politics to instruct us on how to effectively lobby our position to government officials.

Redmer is a partner and President of Landmark Insurance & Financial Group, a full service- diversified organization serving individuals and businesses throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

Prior to joining Landmark, Redmer served as Chief Executive Officer for Coventry Health Care of Delaware, Inc. (CHCD), a managed care organization serving members in Delaware, Maryland, southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.

Previous to Coventry, Redmer served as the Maryland Insurance Commissioner. Appointed by Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr., in June, 2003, Redmer oversaw an annual budget of $21 million and worked to foster a balanced marketplace that allowed for vigorous consumer protection while promoting healthy competition among insurance carriers.

Prior to receiving the appointment, Redmer served as the House Minority Leader in the Maryland General Assembly. First elected in 1990, he represented the Eighth Legislative District in Baltimore County. While a legislator, Redmer served on the House Environmental Matters Committee (1991-2002), which was responsible for all natural resources legislation. He also served on the House Health and Government Operations Committee in 2003.

An avid sportsman, Redmer is a long-time member of the Baltimore County Fish & Game Association and Maryland Saltwater Sports-fishing Association.

AGC Note: Al Redmer is re-entering the political arena in the 2010 election as a candidate for the Senate seat in Maryland’s 7th District.
