Costa Mesa, CA --(AmmoLand.com)- Mesa Tactical, a Costa Mesa, CA manufacturer of professional grade tactical shotgun accessories, today introduced a line of rugged, comfortable pistol grip stocks for the Benelli M1, Benelli M2, Benelli M4, Remington 870 and Remington semi-automatic tactical shotguns.

Called the Urbino Tactical Stock system, the stocks were developed based on the specific needs of law enforcement and military professionals.

Injection-molded in glass-filled nylon, the stocks feature a “tactical”12½ inch length of pull (LoP) for enhanced weapon control, especially with body armor; optional field-adjustable cheek riser to provide improved cheek weld when used with optics; optional Limbsaver® butt pad for greater shooting comfort, especially during long training or certification courses; shock-absorbing rubber grip sleeve to reduce shooter fatigue; and a variety of standard and proprietary sling mounting options.

The Urbino Tactical Stock takes many of its design cues from the Benelli factory tactical stocks.

“But the Benelli stock was a point of departure for us,” says Mitch Barrie, president of Mesa Tactical and the primary developer of the Urbino Tactical Stock.

“We thought it was the most comfortable stock for tactical shotguns, but like all factory stocks it was too long for tactical applications. Our law enforcement and military customers urgently needed a stock with a reduced LoP. They were also clamoring for a stock for the Benelli M4, which is beginning to see wide adoption by law enforcement special weapons teams.”

The Benelli M4 semi-automatic shotgun has been adopted by the US Army as well as the US Marines, and is rapidly appearing in American law enforcement arsenals.

“For some reason,” continued Barrie, “the Benelli M4, while a terrific shooting platform, is something of an orphan when it comes to aftermarket stocks. Our law enforcement customers were very excited to learn we were not only working on a shorter stock, but that we were supporting the Benelli M4 right out of the gate.”

A prototype Urbino Tactical Stock for the Benelli M4 has been undergoing rigorous testing with a major west coast police department during the winter of 2009-2010, and has been receiving rave reviews from test participants.

“Apparently,” says Barrie, “it’s just what the doctor ordered. We are very excited to be bringing this innovative design to market.”

The Urbino Tactical Stock should begin shipping in April 2010. Platforms supported will be the Remington 870, Remington 1100, Remington 11-87, Benelli M1, Benelli M2 and Benelli M4 (all 12-gauge). Depending on options including cheek riser, Limbsaver butt pad and sling swivels, preliminary retail pricing is anticipated to be from $160.00 to $325.00.

Mesa Tactical also manufactures a wide variety of other accessories for tactical shotguns, including: various stock adapters, AR-15 style telescoping stock kits with, or without, hydraulic recoil buffers, Picatinny optical sight rails, barrel and magazine clamps for mounting flashlights, rails, slings, and additional hook and loop sling mounting hardware.

FARMINGDALE, NEW YORK –-(AmmoLand.com)- The Mako Group (“Mako”), a leader in manufacturing, marketing and distributing weapons accessories, now offers a rugged aluminum Glock-to-Rifle Conversion Kit (KPOS).

The KPOS, designed for personal security and covert operations as a PDW (personal defense weapon), provides firepower up to 100 meters. It works with Glock 17 compatibles (G17, G34, G22, and G35) and Glock 19 compatibles (G19 and G23). Features include a folding ergonomic weapon foregrip; a one-point tactical sling adapter; a fold-to-the side compact buttstock with rubber buttpad, similar to a Galil; and an innovative patented design which locks the gun to the frame in both the front and back, making the KPOS a ‘rock-solid’ system.

In addition, the KPOS has five rails (two on the top, one on each side, and one below) which allow a foregrip, flashlight, optics, laser and/or iron sight or any sight used on a rifle, to be mounted on it. Besides having room for a sight, there is also enough space for a magnifier and a backup flip-up sight. Even if the user chooses not to mount an additional sight, they can shoot using the original handgun sight. A silencer can also be mounted on the barrel.

The KPOS is very compact, in fact smaller and lighter than a mini-Uzi. No tooling is required for installation.

“We exhibited the KPOS at the 2010 Shot Show and at several distributor shows in January 2010 and the reaction was amazing!”, says Addy Sandler, The Mako Group’s CEO. “The KPOS was one of the most popular of all our new products! In addition to all the features mentioned above, the KPOS conversion kit also includes a bungee sling, our popular FGG-S tactical folding grip, and a Glock charging handle specifically-designed for use with the KPOS.”

Note: if you own a Glock handgun and you purchase the KPOS, your handgun becomes a short-barreled rifle (SBR) and you must register your weapon with the ATF using ATF Form 1 and paying the fee.

KPOS retail pricing is $497.65. Additional information and pictures can be found here.
