Champion Elk Caller Dieter Kaboth Joins The Hunter's Specialties Pro Staff

Dieter has recorded four Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation World Elk Calling Championships in the professional division – more than any caller in the history of the competition.

Since winning his first title he has appeared on over 300 radio and television shows all over the world, including the PrimeTime Bulls DVD series and Hunter’s Specialties Outdoors. As a life member, Dieter has worked tirelessly for the RMEF and currently serves as a media representative for the organization.

Although Dieter’s primary passion is hunting elk, he also gets great satisfaction from helping other hunters, especially those new to the sport. He also enjoys pursuing mule deer, whitetails, blacktail deer, moose, black bear, turkeys and waterfowl whenever he gets the chance. Dieter is also an expert predator hunter and caller.

“Throughout the years I have called in and killed dozens of coyotes and bobcats”, said Dieter. “To me predator hunting is a necessary part of hunting and helps keep deer, antelope and elk herds strong and healthy by helping to increase fawn/calf survival rates to sustain or increase their populations.”

Nick Brichacek, a Pro Staff member of Hunter’s Specialties, has a passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Nick’s dad introduced him to the sport of hunting when he was 6 years old, and he has loved it ever since. Nick has done most of his hunting at home in eastern Nebraska on the Platte River chasing waterfowl.

Steve Criner of Bolivar, MO has been hunting for over twenty years. He started hunting deer and turkeys at a young age and quickly became interested in calling wild animals. Some of his fondest memories are of running around the country side chasing deer, turkeys, and squirrels with his grandfather as a young boy.

Matt Morrett of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania began his outdoor education while accompanying his father to the woods at the age of six. He soon turned into an accomplished deer and turkey hunter and began entering turkey calling contests.

Allen Morris of Springville, Utah grew up with a love of hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. As a youngster he could be found with his dog and BB gun, chasing animals around his family’s dairy farm.

You will however, need to use a 0-20-20 fertilizer at the first of each planting to replace the Potassium and Phosphorus used by the plants. After three years, swap the plots. In Plot A, switch to planting the Winter Forage Mix and Booming Beans Mix in rotation and in Plot B plant the Velvet Mix. Plot A now has plenty of nitrogen from the clover (a legume), fixating it in the soil over the past three years while it was growing. The Winter Forage mix will flourish on the added nitrogen.

Rotating the different Vita-Rack mixes works well because too much soil nitrogen will actually slow plant growth and cause diseases. Keeping the nitrogen levels in balance by rotating the crops eliminates using extra artificial nitrogen, which is great for the environment and produces up to a 45% savings in fertilizer investment for consumers.”

La Vista, Nebraska --(AmmoLand.com)- Hunter’s Specialties Pro Staff member Nick Brichacek took first place in a field of 12 top callers in the Nebraska State Duck Calling contest, which was held September 19, 2009 in La Vista, Nebraska.

The win qualifies Nick to compete at the World Duck Calling Championships in Stuttgart, Arkansas in November, representing his home state of Nebraska.

This is Nick’s 6th contest championship, including the Nebraska State Hunter’s in 2003, WCA Finals Junior Duck in 2004, the Nebraska Ducks Unlimited State meet, Battle on the Ohio Deadduck 2-man duck and Nebraska State Duck Calling Championship, all in 2005.

Rick not only took first place overall, he also placed first in the Senior Open and was second in the Owl Hooting event.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa - -(AmmoLand.com)- Audrey McQueen, a member of the Hunter’s Specialties National Pro Staff, recently won her 9th Women’s World Elk Calling Championship at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s 25th annual convention.

Audrey currently lives in Eagar, Arizona and operates Trophy Ridge Outfitters (www.trophyridgeoutfitters.net) with her husband Roger; offering hunts for elk, mule deer, antelope and oryx.

“I grew up on a ranch near the small town of Luna, New Mexico,” said McQueen. “My favorite hobbies were always fishing and hunting. I have always been very competitive and enjoy calling contests. A couple of years ago I started competing on the Women’s Bassmaster Tour as a professional angler. Last year I placed second in the Women’s Bassmaster Tournament championship.”

In addition to her record 9 World Elk Calling titles, Audrey has also won back-to-back Best of the West elk calling titles and twenty-three first place state championships. She continues to consistently be one of the top callers in the country.

“We’re excited to have Audrey as a member of our National Pro Staff,” said Hunter’s Specialties Field Services Coordinator Neal Denison. “Her abilities not only as a competition caller, but a hunter, have placed her in an elite group of professionals in the industry. The World Elk Calling Championships are held to help raise awareness of elk habitat and conservation initiatives of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. After that I traveled to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to compete in the Northeastern Elk Calling Championship where I won first place. At the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Convention in Fort Worth, Texas, I entered in the Professional Division and took home another first place prize. Lastly, I went to Utah for the Best of the West contest and managed to win that one as well.”
