We’re Famous in South America:

Some of you have been seeing close caption subtitles in Spanish over our shows. That’s because Shooting USA is international, with the distribution of Outdoor Channel Programming in Mexico and South America. The Spanish Sub-titles are on the second close captioning channel on your TV set. If you’re seeing Spanish, it’s because your set is switched to CC-2. But there wasn’t anything there until recently. If you’re seeing Spanish, punch the CC button on your remote until your set says Close Captioning is off.

Smith & Wesson Gun of the Month:

The cut-off for entries for the June Gun-of-the-Month is midnight Pacific Time tonight. You’ve got a pretty easy question to answer before the deadline to increase your odds of winning the Model 637 PowerPort – Pro Series Revolver. File your entry after tonight’s deadline and you’ll be playing for the July Gun-of-the-Month. You’ll find out what that one is – on Wednesday.

Then cross your fingers, carry your lucky coin, or rub your rabbit’s foot and watch for a call from the 615 area code on Saturday. Somebody will have an extra reason to celebrate the 4th.

Hang out Old Glory:
Time to display the Stars and Stripes this weekend to honor the founders and the minutemen who sacrificed so much to win our freedoms 233 years ago. And may I suggest you keep the flag flying every day to honor our service men and women who will not be home having a hot-dog and a beer with their families this Independence Day. I’m on my 6th flag since 9-12-01. They wear out, but replacements are not that expensive, and my neighbors get to see the red-white-and-blue flying everyday. It’s my reminder that we’re still at war and still have people to honor who are defending us in really nasty places around the world.
