BEAVERTON, Ore. --(Ammoland.com)- Visitors to the Leupold & Stevens booth (#13023) at the 2012 Shooting and Hunting Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas will have the opportunity to meet several industry celebrities.

They include:

  • Doug Koenig, widely regarded as the world’s best all-around shooter, with an unequaled record of championships in a variety of shooting sports. Booth appearances: 10 a.m.-11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17; 2 p.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, January 18; and 12:00 noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 19.
  • Jessie Harrison, competitive shooting professional with numerous championship titles in state, regional, national and world events. Booth appearances: 11 a.m.-12 noon .on Tuesday, January 17; 10 a.m.-12 noon on Thursday, January 19.
  • Randy Newberg, host of “On Your Own Adventures” TV show. Booth appearances: 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17; 11 a.m.-12 noon on Wednesday, January 18.
  • Brian “Pig Man” Quaca, hog hunter extraordinaire and host of “Leupold’s Pig Man: The Series” television show. Booth appearances: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, Thursday, January 19 and Friday, January 20.
  • Jim Shockey, award-winning outdoor writer, wildlife photographer\videographer, wilderness guide and outfitter. Host of “Jim Shockey’s Hunting Adventures” television show. Booth appearance: 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17.

Award Winning Long-Range Competitive Shooters Join Leupold Pro Staff

BEAVERTON, Ore. --(Ammoland.com)- Leupold announces the addition of three premier long-range shooting competitors to its pro staff.

Mike Miller, Stan Pate and John Weil all compete in top-end shooting events using Leupold optics.

“We all know how critical optics are in order to be successful in the long-range shooting disciplines,” said Pat Mundy, communications manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “Having three highly accomplished shooters such as Mike, Stan and John added to our pro staff will continue to demonstrate the high performance and accuracy of our products.”

In the 2009 F-T/R Class individual world standings, Pate ranks third, Miller eighth and Weil tenth. Weil was shooter #1 on the 2009 USA F-T/R Gold Medal World Team. (F-T/R Class is defined as .308 scoped rifles fired off bipods at ranges up to 1,200 yards.)

A former police sergeant, SWAT tactical team member and sniper instructor, Miller is a highly decorated long-range rifle competitive shooter. He has won numerous national and world long-range shooting competitions including gold and silver medals in the F-T/R 2009 World Championships. Miller will serve as vice captain on the 2013 U.S. National F-T/R Team.

Pate’s shooting career began as a member of the Marine Corps’ Small Arms Training Unit. He is a past member of the North Carolina state pistol team and currently serves as team captain for the Savage Arms factory shooting team. For the past four years, Pate has represented the United States around the world as a member of the U.S. F-T/R Team. He has won numerous events and set records in national world long-range shooting events.

A competitive shooter for more than 20 years, Weil is a certified NRA Home Firearm Safety, Personal Protection, Pistol and Rifle Instructor. He is also a USA/NRA International Advanced Shooting Coach. Weil has won several awards in USPSA/IPSC C-Class Open and Limited 10 shooting competitions. He currently competes in long-range F Class matches at both the national and world levels.

Weil and Pate are based in Oregon, while Miller resides in California.
