WEST POINT, Miss. –-(Ammoland.com)- Longleaf Camo has launched its Longleaf Photo Challenge on Facebook to get outdoorsmen, women and children excited about this year’s hunting season, and this is a challenge that really pays off.

Participants will be entered into a random prize drawing for every photo they submit, and there will be four winners: one man, one woman, one youth and a grand prize Longleaf Camo winner.

Prize packages total $1,750 in hunting gear from Longleaf Camo, Preston Pittman Game Calls, Mud River Dog Products, Buck Country Outdoor Products, Vicious Fishing, Wildgame Innovations and Buck Score.

As part of the Longleaf Photo Challenge, hunters are encouraged to post a variety of up to 10 different hunting or other outdoor photos to Longleaf Camo’s Facebook page from now until January 31, 2011.

“This really isn’t a photo contest,” said Rick Looser, President and CEO of Longleaf Camo. “It’s not about the composition or lighting of the photo, it’s about showing your love of hunting and nature. We want photos that tell your story.”

Longleaf Camo is challenging people nationwide to log on to its Facebook page and participate by “liking” the page and posting photos from hunts or other outdoor adventures.

For more information on the Longleaf Photo Challenge and for a complete list of rules and terms, please visit the company’s website, longleafcamo.com, or log on to the Longleaf Camo Facebook page, www.facebook.com/longleafcamo.

National Wild Turkey Federation’s Convention Taxidermy Competitions

National Wild Turkey Federation’s Convention

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -(AmmoLand.com)- Contestants can compete in two species categories: white-tailed deer and wild turkey; and three skill divisions: professional, masters and commercial. The NWTF’s taxidermy contest is one of the premier taxidermy exhibits in North America, and this year’s competition will not disappoint.

Shawn Whitehead of Lexington, Ky., two-time winner in the NWTF’s Wild Turkey Master’s Category, returns to the NWTF’s taxidermy competition year after year for the chance to compete against new talent in a unique competition.

“Highly skilled competitors show up every year, which heats up the competition and keeps me working to be the best,” Whitehead said. “But what really sets the NWTF’s competition apart is that, unlike other taxidermy contests, it’s part of a large convention that offers booths to browse for the latest and greatest hunting and fishing gear, plus seminars and entertainment. I also like that the NWTF’s competition allows me to compete against other taxidermists in a turkey-specific category instead of going up against artists who work with with all types of birds.”

Visit the taxidermy judging area to see this amazing display of wildlife art, which is sponsored by Mathews, Inc., Mossberg Firearms and Longleaf Camo.

About:
The NWTF is a national nonprofit conservation organization that was founded in 1973 and has worked with wildlife agencies to restore wild turkey populations from 1.3 million wild turkeys to nearly 7 million today. Now, NWTF’s volunteers raise funds and work daily to improve critical wildlife habitat, increase access to public hunting land and introduce new people to the outdoors and hunting.
