Las Veagas, NV --(AmmoLand.com)- Shooting industry veteran Mark Kresser took the reins at NASGW effective January 1, 2010.

He comes to this new post with many years of related industry experience, most recently as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing with O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc. and previously within the top management team of SigArms.

In addition to his sales and management experience, Kresser brings to NASGW steadfast support and commitment to the organization’s wholesale members, the two-step distribution process and shooting sports in general.

“Mark is well known and highly regarded throughout the shooting and hunting industry,” said NASGW Chairman, Mike Brown.

“He’s a creative, intelligent man who knows guns and shooting and understands the unique challenges our businesses face. He’s the type of a guy that people truly enjoy being around and working with. I’m confident Mark will be eagerly welcomed by members and manufacturers alike, and will help lead our association to a new level.”

Kresser and Tracy Kolojeski, NASGW Director of Operations, were both on hand at the 2010 SHOT Show last month. And as it has done for the past several years, NASGW was once again a proud SHOT participant and sponsor of 2010’s SHOT Show University.

“Sponsoring the Keynote Speaker this year,” said Kolojeski, “allowed NASGW to provide on-going support of the retail customer base in a way that gets real results. Three hundred attending dealers are now further along their own paths to success – something that can be showcased by the high value wholesale distribution already brings to the total equation.”

Las Veagas, NV --(AmmoLand.com)- NASGW’s Board of Directors held its last meeting of the 2009 membership year on January 18th just prior to the opening of SHOT Show.

A warm welcome was extended to new President, Mark Kresser and newest Director, Pete Brownell.

As a member of the NASGW for many years, Pete certainly appreciates the role the association has played in advancing the position of wholesalers in the shooting sports industry.

“The market sometimes forgets how important the middle channel is,” said Brownell. “We provide a tremendous value to both the manufacturers and the retailers.”

Always on the forefront of both brand-building and customer service, he has watched as customers have migrated from Brownell’s famous horizontal-format catalog to the Browenll’s internet website. And yet, it’s still the people that matter.

“The web just doesn’t replace relationships, and that’s what we wholesalers bring to the marketing process,” added Brownell. Brownell has high praise for the industry’s manufacturers. “Their innovation in design and expertise in manufacturing provide all of us with fantastic products to sell. Getting those products to market efficiently is where the distribution channel is so important. “

As a Board member, Pete will do everything he can to help the NASGW support the wholesale channel so everyone, manufacturers, distributors, retailers – and consumers – benefits.

“After three generations, we’ve got a lot of friends throughout the industry. We want everyone to succeed,” stated Brownell, “and a healthy supply chain is an essential ingredient.”

As always, the Board welcomes your comments, questions and concerns at any time.
