-(AmmoLand.com)- Starting today, Sportsman Channel viewers can lead the effort to identify the shows and hosts who will take home top honors in the 2010 Sportsman Choice Awards, Sportsman Channel’s viewer-generated awards program.

Coming off a successful 2009 Awards event, where viewers cast more than 25,000 votes over an eight-week period, the network is expanding voting opportunities to encompass all four quarters of the year. All shows and show hosts airing on the network in 2010 are eligible and voting takes place on www.votesportsman.com.

The categories are:

  • Best Hunt Show
  • Best Shoot Show
  • Best Fish Show
  • Best Combination (hunting and fishing) Show
  • Best Show Host(s)

Currently, viewers can vote for those shows and hosts that appear on Sportsman Channel during the first quarter of 2010, from January through March. Further nomination periods will occur quarterly, for a total of four nominating periods, with finalists announced close to the end of the year.

“We had such a successful voting round in 2009 that we wanted to encompass the entire year and keep the current shows fresh in people’s minds,” said Willy Burkhardt, president of Sportsman Channel. “This process allows viewers to vote on all of our shows that are airing currently.”

Sportsman Channel is giving away hundreds of first, second and third place prizes, which equates to a prize a day during the year. As an added bonus, all voters will be entered to win a $500 prize pack, which includes a $250 Cabela’s gift card and merchandise from Sportsman Channel.

With all of the exciting new and long-established shows on the network this year, the 2010 Sportsman Choice Awards promise to be the biggest and best year ever.
