JACKSONVILLE, Florida --(Ammoland.com)- Safariland, a BAE Systems line of business, announced today the addition of the PROTECH FAV MKII QR (Quick Release) tactical vest to its FAV MKII Enhanced family of vests.

The FAV MKII QR incorporates all the same features and upgrades of the innovative FAV MKII Enhanced tactical vest but with a simplistic quad release QR system which is ideal for maritime operations or for agencies requiring quick doffing capabilities.

The quick release mechanism allows the front and rear of the vest to be released through a single pull of a deployment handle located in the center upper torso on the front carrier. This provides the ability to remove the carrier quickly and effectively when the need arises. The quick release functionality has been streamlined by using a unique quad release buckle system which is situated on the bottom front portion and the shoulder areas of the vest for ease of reassembly after the vest has been deployed.

The FAV MKII QR carrier comes with front, back, shoulder and 6” x 10” side ballistic panels and is equipped with a 360° modular attachment system to accommodate PROTECH Tactical TP pouches and accessories; six integrated, long arm magazine pouches; an outer cummerbund with adjustable sides to provide a custom fit for a wide range of waist circumferences; an adjustable dual weapon retention system in the shoulder area for specific weapon retention and individual shooting positions; as well as combo, external top-loading plate pockets on the front and back to hold 8” x 10” or 10” x 12” type III or type IV hard armor plates. The carrier also features adjustable shoulder and side closure systems to create an optimum fit for each individual officer.

An extensive offering of ballistic accessories can be purchased for the FAV MKII QR including:

a ballistic collar and a ballistic throat for greater protection in the neck area;
a pair of A-PEC side chest protective inserts for greater protection in the pectoral area for both male and female officers;
a pair of ballistic upper arm (bicep) protectors;
a standard pull down ballistic groin protector or an enhanced, diamond-shaped groin protector for greater femoral artery protection.

Additionally, the FAV MKII QR can be purchased with the innovative Spacer-Mesh™ padding system which attaches to the internal portion of the carrier to provide greater airflow and cushioning to the chest, back and shoulder areas while reducing load carrying fatigue.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Selects Remington Model 870 Pump Action Shotguns for ‘Less-Than-Lethal’ Program.

Madison, NC --(Ammoland.com)- Remington Arms Company, LLC., (“Remington”), is pleased to announce that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has recently purchased an additional 300 Remington Model 870 shotguns designated specifically for use in their “less-than-lethal” program.

The shotguns in this program will be used to deploy specialized munitions considered “less-than-lethal” when deadly force is not justified nor warranted. The Model 870 shotguns for the program were custom designed by the Sheriff’s Department and built by Remington’s Law Enforcement Custom Build Division with highly conspicuous, brightly-colored butt stocks so they can be easily identified as “less-than-lethal”.
