The RSL’s ground-breaking new laser design incorporated into the rear sight, compact size and revolutionary performance make it the most extraordinary system LaserLyte has produced. The RSL’s activation switch is a strategically placed button at the back of the slide that is easily activated by the thumb in a normal shooting position for left- or right-handed shooters. First press of the activation switch produces the constant on mode, second press produces pulse mode, and third press deactivates the laser. A small LED on the back of the laser indicates if the laser is on and what mode it is in.

This RSL fits Springfield Armory, Colt, Sig Sauer, Les Baer, Ed Brown, Dan Wesson, Nighthawk and Charles Daly 1911 pistols with Novak low mount sights. Visit LaserLyte’s Web site for a complete fit guide. The body is constructed from MIM 4650, nickel enriched high carbon steel, the same material used for most heavy-duty gun parts such as iron sights, hammers and levers. The laser body is precision mounted to a proprietary adapter made of 1018 steel, low carbon mild steel. It is also black chrome, bead blasted for a non-reflective finish.

When mounted onto the pistol the RSL will fit all Level I and II holsters. The RSL is powered by four 377 batteries that provide six hours of normal usage. Normal usage is defined as one minute on and one minute off. This test mimics actual usage where the unit is turned on and off and the battery is given time to automatically regenerate. The RSL is tested and recommended by the National Tactical Officer’s Association.

Cottonwood, Ariz. – -(AmmoLand.com)- LaserLyte is pleased to announce that the Rear Sight Laser (RSL) has been tested and recommended by the National Tactical Officer’s Association (NTOA) “Member Tested and Recommended Products Program”.

This program is the most comprehensive law enforcement product review database. The program allows for manufacturers to have their products tested in the field by the law enforcement community.

The Rear Sight Laser’s ground-breaking new laser design incorporated into the rear sight, its compact size and revolutionary performance make the new RSL the most extraordinary system LaserLyte has ever produced. Easy-to-install and easy-to-operate, the new RSL offers a high-power laser with the benefit of not having to replace existing grips, internal stock parts or holsters.

Officers evaluating the RSL found it simple and easy to use. An officer reviewer commented,

“The product was very easy to install and I had it on in less than 15 minutes.” Another officer reviewer liked the fact that the gun could still be easily holstered, stating, “Because of its size and location, it does not have any adverse affects on holstering with a Level I or II holster.”

It is also black oxide, bead blasted for a non-reflective finish. When mounted onto the pistol the RSL will fit all Level 1 and 2 holsters. Powered by four 377 batteries, commonly used in watches, that provide one hour of run time on constant on and two hours in pulse mode. LaserLyte offers discounted batteries at www.laserlyte.com. MSRP $199.95.

About the NTOA
The NTOA was established in 1983 by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Captain, then-Lieutenant, John Kolman. Mr. Kolman hoped to provide a communications link between SWAT units throughout the United States and, later, other countries. All prospective members of the NTOA must meet prescribed membership criteria. Membership records are considered confidential, and exact figures are not disseminated. However, what can be stated is the membership is presently comprised of more than 30,000 members, including more than 1,600 teams. Largely through the hard work of our instructors and a realistic costing approach, the NTOA training program continues to grow. Member services are also expanding in the areas of tactical data collection, equipment surveys, program reviews and training program and instructor development.
