Should The Second Amendment Be Repealed?

Shooters Committee on Political Education

Shooters Committee on Political Education

Lackawanna, New York --(Ammoland.com)- Front Page columnist Budd Schroeder will debate well known political blog webmaster, Joseph Illuzzi on the subject, “Should the Second Amendment be repealed?” Mr. Illuzzi’s, blog is PoliticsNY.Net and he his well known for his insight on elections and political controversial issues.

He believes that civilians should not own firearms.

The program is sponsored by the Judges & Police Conference where Mr. Schroeder is First Vice-President. He is also Chairman of the Board of S.C.O.P.E. Inc. (Shooter’s Committee On Political Education) and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Rifle Association.

Schroeder believes that the Constitution is correct and that firearms is almost a synonym for freedom. The differences in opinion between the two participants may stem from Mr. Illuzzi’s position that guns kill and he is against killing.

Mr. Schroeder has always taken the position that more lives are saved by guns. A gun is nothing more than a tool and murders are caused by people who are criminals. He has often said that the problems of violence and murders are not because there are “too many guns on the street,” but rather, too many criminals on the streets.

The debate is designed to shed light without generating heat and to present the pros and cons of gun control. The issue has a long history of having a base in religion, constitutional law, and social issues. It is expected that these issues will be addressed during the debate.

Supreme Court Justice Frank Caruso will be the moderator for this program. The Judges & Police Conference dinners usually restricted to members and guests. For this event, those interested in attending can make reservations without being a member. The deadline for reservations is October 4.

Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- Stay tuned – the Senate Judiciary Committee will talk about firearms on Sept 14.

Although we can only guess as to what the subject of this meeting is for, we can only speculate that committee is up to no good with regards to your second amendment rights.

This committee is chaired by Patrick Leahy (D) VT, and includes Schumer (D) NY, Durbin (D) IL, Feinstein (D) CA and Franken (D) MN. None of whom are friendly to the 2A.

NOTICE OF COMMITTEE HEARING
The Senate Committee on the Judiciary has scheduled a hearing entitled “Firearms in Commerce: Assessing the Need for Reform in the Federal Regulatory Process” for Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 226 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.

By order of the Chairman.
