title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- Always the innovator, Vortex Optics added first focal plane models to its popular Viper HS Riflescope series.

To the users eye, first focal plane reticles expand and decrease in size in a direct, proportional relationship to magnification. This is due to the reticle’s forward placement in the optical system. The benefit of that placement is all reticle sustentions remain constant and useable throughout the entire zoom range.

Translation – Your BDC and subtension reticle references are accurate at all magnifications. That’s right, no more having to double-check your scopes setting when that trophy of a lifetime steps out at distance, everything seems to be happening at once and you want to use your reticle’s drop references – or worse, using drop references on the incorrect magnification setting resulting in a poor hit or miss. It’s basically a failsafe measure.

“Many of our riflescopes built for tactical applications and long-range shooting where time is a critical variable employ first focal plane reticles and the advantages they offer,” said Joe Hamilton, Vortex Optics national sales manager.

“It just made sense to further incorporate them into our hunting riflescopes as an option for hunters who want to maximize their effective range during the types of high-pressure situations they can encounter in the field.”

The new first focal plane Vortex Viper HS models add a new twist to hunting-oriented riflescopes and are sure to turn heads. Reticle images and information are available on the vortexoptics.com Web site.

Available: 4-16×50 LR (XLR Reticle), 6-24×50 LR (XLR Reticle)

American-owned, Wisconsin-based Vortex Optics designs, engineers and distributes a complete line of premium binoculars, riflescopes, spotting scopes, tripods and related accessories. Dedicated to exceptional quality, value and unrivaled customer service, Vortex backs its products with its unconditional, lifetime VIP-warranty. Built on more than 20 years of experience in the optics industry, Vortex is rapidly emerging as a leading brand in the optics market.

Vortex – The Force of Optics | www.vortexoptics.com
Tags: Redfield

BEAVERTON, Ore. —-(Ammoland.com)- Redfield’s new Revenge line offers an exclusive “in-scope” ballistic ranging system and other premium features at commonly affordable prices for hunters and shooters.

The line includes five riflescope magnifications as well as a scope for crossbow hunting.

Revenge is the second Redfield-branded riflescope from Leupold & Stevens, Inc., joining the popular Revolution introduced in 2010. The new Accu-Ranger Ballistics System is unique to Revenge riflescopes. It allows hunters to determine the distance to commonly hunted animals and helps enhance shooting accuracy at longer ranges —out to 600 yards— without taking eyes off the target. With Accu-Ranger, there is no need to go back and forth between scope and rangefinder when setting up for a shot.

Revenge riflescope magnifications include 2-7x34mm, 3-9x42mm, 3-9x52mm, 4-12x42mm and 6-18x44mm. The Accu-Ranger system is available in all riflescope models except the 2-7x34mm. In addition, the Revenge 2-7x34mm ABS Crossbow scope comes with the Accu-Ranger Crossbow reticle.

“The Redfield Revenge is an all-new, one-of-a-kind series of riflescopes featuring our exclusive new Accu-Ranger Ballistics System,” said Pat Mundy, communications manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “These riflescopes continue the Redfield tradition of top-notch optics priced within the means of most every hunter.”

With Accu-Ranger, the hunter simply uses the riflescope’s power selector ring to bracket the animal’s torso between the horizontal line of the reticle and the bottom of the top post. After determining the yardage from the reticle numbers, the hunter zooms the scope up to its highest power, and then uses the appropriate aiming point to shoot. Specific Accu-Ranger reticles include the Hunter, Sabot, Varmint and Crossbow. Other reticle options for Revenge riflescopes include the 4-Plex and Fine Plex, depending on model.

Additional riflescope features include:

Fully multicoated lens system for outstanding image brightness, clarity and resolution. Performs well in low-light conditions.

Pop-up, resettable ¼-MOA windage and elevation adjustments. Ensures adjustment precision and reliability, and a wide range of adjustment travel.

Fast-focus eyepiece. Makes reticle focus easy to achieve and maintain.

Revenge riflescopes have a one-inch maintube and are nitrogen filled to make them waterproof, fog proof and shock proof. Exhaustive testing in the factory and field ensures the riflescopes’ reliability and durability. They are covered by the Redfield Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Manufacturer’s suggested retail prices range from $139.99 to $269.99. For more information, visit www.redfield.com or call 877-798-9686.

Acquired by Leupold & Stevens, Inc. in 2008, Redfield is now a brand of the Oregon-based company. The Redfield line includes Revolution and Revenge riflescopes, Rebel roof prism and Renegade Porro prism binoculars, Rampage spotting scope kits and Raider rangefinders. The Redfield Gun Sight Company was founded in 1909 by John Hill Redfield. Over the years, Redfield became one of the leading American manufacturers of sports optics, known for the performance, ruggedness and reliability of its products. The new Redfield line upholds that tradition and is sold worldwide to hunters, shooters, wildlife observers and other outdoor enthusiasts.
Tags: Ammoland.com)- Recognizing the explosive growth in 3-Gun competition shooting, Burris has developed a new line of riflescopes built to deliver precision, performance, versatility and shooter confidence.

The new MTAC line offers five new scopes that are designed for the tactical shooters and 3-gun competitors, but are versatile enough for use in the field.

The new MTAC series consists of a 1x-4x 24mm, 1.5x-6x 40mm, 3.5x-10x 42mm, 4.5x-14x 42mm and a 6.5x-20x 50mm. The MTAC 1x-4x 24mm, with its wide field-of-view and illuminated Ballistic CQ 5.56/7.62 reticle is the perfect companion for any AR-style firearm. This scope allows you to quickly and easily engage close targets or take precise aim to 600 yards. For those that want more versatility and confidence for the short-range fast shots, it is also available as a package with the popular FastFireä red-dot reflex sight. Like the 1x-4x scope, the 1.5x-6x 40mm offers an illuminated reticle, but is more suited when longer-range shots are more common.

For the long-range tactical shooter, the MTAC offers three scopes, 3.5x-10x 42mm, 4.5x-14x 42mm and a 6.5x-20x 50mm, all of which have adjustable parallax. All three scopes feature the popular G2B Mil-Dot reticle for precise aiming, distance measurement, holdover and hold off. title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- Weaver introduces new tactical optics and accessories.

These tactical products are precision machined to the strictest tolerances to perform in adverse conditions.

The new accessories are made in the U.S.A. Tactical optics and accessories are now available.

Hostile Environments; Tactical Precision
Whether in-competition or on-duty, Weaver understands there is no room for error. That’s why Weaver engineered, designed and tested these tactical products to perform under the most severe conditions.

They feature fully multi-coated lenses and a one-piece, 30mm Argon purged tube. Waterproof, shockproof and fogproof tolerances deliver proven, rugged performance. And, new tactical accessories (MSRP: $37.95 – $100.49) enable precision shooters to outfit their firearms for each mission.

Tactical shooters can sight-in from a distance with new long and intermediate range scopes. These scopes boast advanced technology and ten illumination settings. First focal plane reticles and aggressive knurling provide fast, precise aiming. Aircraft-grade aluminum construction achieves greater strength and positive weight reduction.

“We take our tactical optics very seriously,” said Product Marketing Manager Tom Knudtson. “Our optics experts have done a lot of work on these reticles, glass and overall scope design to meet the needs of law enforcement professionals, military officers and other precision shooters.”

Mounting Systems
Four new tactical accessories are ideal for upgrading AR-style rifles. First, the Picatinny Riser Set minimizes weight and bulk while delivering optimal mounting height for a wide range of optic/ring combinations. Second, the full-length AR-15 Flat Top Riser Rail features 20 MOA of vertical cant to enable extended optics range adjustments.

The Weaver Tactical SPR (Special Purpose Rifle) 30mm Optics Mount delivers solid holding-power to withstand aggressive recoil. Hand-adjustable knobs enable no-tool installation and removal. The last new addition to the tactical lineup is Weaver’s Fixed Back-Up Iron Sight. It features no vertical or horizontal point-of-impact shift when switching from precision to CQB aperture, keeping shooters on target and in the action.

To learn more about the new optics, accessories and search through the complete Weaver lineup, visit www.weaveroptics.com.

Part No. Description

800363 3-15x50mm Illuminated Long-Range Scope

800364 1-5x24mm Illuminated Intermediate Range Scope

99482 AR-15/M16 Fixed Back-Up Iron Sight

99674 SPR 30mm Optics Mount

99658 Small Picatinny Riser Set

99675 AR-15 Flat Top Riser Rail; 20 MOA

About Weaver® Optics
Ammoland.com)- The Bushnell Elite series handgun scope offers pistol and revolver shooters a tough, high quality scope designed to handle the heavy recoil of hunting loads.

The scope is forged from tough T5056 aluminum and built to withstand heavy use. The multi-coated lenses feature Ultra Wide Band (UWB) Coating, providing optimum brightness, true color across the light spectrum and constant light transmission of 90 percent.

Purged using Argon gas, the Elite series scopes are 100 percent waterproof and fog proof. Benefits of Argon-purging include a lesser likelihood of dissipation from the scope body, due to the large atom size, and the gas doesn’t create chemical reactions that can result in the corrosion or degradation of seals. The handgun scope also features the patented RainGuard HD lens coating, a permanent, water-repellant coating that causes moisture to bead up and scatter less light, allowing the scope to perform in inclement weather.

The Elite handgun scope is available in a 2-6x 32mm configuration with 20 inches of constant eye relief, making it ideal for handguns with heavy recoil. It is available in either matte black or silver with a suggested retail price of $299.99.

For more information about Bushnell Products visit www.bushnell.com or call 800-423-3537.

Bushnell Outdoor Products is a global manufacturer and marketer of branded consumer products based in Overland Park, Kansas. title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- A fine riflescope demands a precision, stress-free mounting system to obtain top optical performance on your rifle. That’s where Sinclair International’s Scope Ring Lapping Tool Combo Kit, #80-2500, comes in.

Designed to install all 1″ and 30mm riflescopes, this kit contains the Sinclair Scope Ring Alignment Tool, 1″ and 30mm Sinclair Scope Ring Lapping Tools, plus a container of lapping compound, all conveniently packaged in a fitted protective hard case.

Used together, these tools ensure perfect scope ring alignment, preventing stresses that can distort or bend a scope tube. A bent tube distorts the scope’s optical axis, which requires excessive windage and elevation adjustments and impairs the scope’s light transmission.

Bases, rings and rifle actions from different manufacturers may not be perfectly true in regard to alignment tolerances, sometimes even needing shims under the ring bases (also available from Sinclair) to achieve proper ring alignment. The Sinclair Scope Alignment Tool uses two pointed rods to reveal and correct ring misalignment. Doing this step first, and shimming as needed, will reduce the amount of lapping necessary to obtain perfect alignment.

Unlike other pointed rod alignment tools, the Sinclair tool uses adjustable rods riding in precision-machined collets set into tool bodies mounted in the scope rings. This eliminates the need to loosen and retighten the rings repeatedly to adjust rod point length.

Sinclair’s Scope Ring Lapping Tools are precision-ground to a tolerance of +/- .0005 inches. Each tool comes with a one-inch and a 30mm lapping bar, handle and lapping compound for about five sets of scope rings. The lapping bars are 10 inches long to efficiently lap your scope rings to perfect alignment.

About:
Ammoland.com)- Konus will unveil new additions to its successful line of optics at SHOT Show 2011, taking place on January 18-21, 2011 in Las Vegas, NV.

The KonusPro Impact line of riflescopes will make its official debut at the show, boasting exclusive Konus ballistic reticles that provide precise ranging to 550 yards, and also include windage reference points.

The line is made up of three models: 4-16×50 (MSRP$199.99); 3-9x40IR (MSRP $159.99) and 3-9×40 (MSRP $129.99). All three feature the ballistic reticle, one-piece tube construction, multi-coated optics, glass-engraved reticle, 1/4 MOA finger adjustments and much more.

“The new KonusPro Impact scopes help you take the guesswork out of long range shooting without having to rely on holdover scenarios. We’ve also incorporated our engraved reticle technology to alleviate any fear of blowing out your reticle,” said Mark Shore, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Konus USA.

“The line has models for medium to long range shooters that are sure to satisfy.”

Also joining Konus’ family of optics is the new Sight Pro Fission, a revolutionary electronic dot sight that is one of the smallest and lightest dot sights on the market. During testing, its lightweight and durable construction allowed for thousands of test rounds to be fired, with absolutely no effect on its point of impact.

Unlike most sighting devices in its class, the Sight Pro Fission powers on and off with a slide switch, rather than by going into sleep mode. It also includes dual color and a dual mounting system, which allows for mounting on standard weaver style bases or 3/8 / dovetail bases for small bore applications. The MSRP for the Sight Pro Fission is $129.99.

“This is a perfect device for pistols and shotguns used for skeet and trap shooting, as well as riflescopes used for sports and hunting. It is also ideal for law enforcement,” added Shore.

All of the new Konus products will be unveiled at SHOT Show 2011. Please visit Konus at booth 642.
Ammoland.com)- How do I zero my weapon?

When you buy your riflescope, a wonderful idea would be to attach it to the gun and VOILA! You’re ready to shoot!

Unfortunately, that fantasy is not the reality, and there are some steps that need to be taken to align the crosshairs of the scope with the muzzle of the gun.

What you need to zero in your weapon

Rifle

Rings

Scope

A Range or Appropriate Shooting Location with all the Proper Precautions

Sand Bags or Mechanical Rest

Two Boxes of Ammunition (at least)

Ear and Eye Protection

Step 1: You need to be familiar with your gun and scope. Know where the windage and elevation knobs are on your scope. The elevation knob is usually on the top, and the windage should be on the right.

If you have never mounted a scope to your gun and you’re unsure, PLEASE take it to a competent gunsmith and have them mount it.

Step 2: At the range, a common distance to zero at is 100 yards, but you may wish to select a different distance depending on purpose or preference.

Step 3: You need to position your rifle in a secure set-up, whether it is on a table, with sandbags or a mechanical rest, or in the prone position. This will enhance your ability to make a consistent shot. You should avoid kneeling or standing without a table or some means of steadying the rifle securely. The elimination of vibrations or wavering is absolutely essential in obtaining a good zero. You want your set-up to be consistent each time. A good, steady rest is the key for a consistent, repeatable zero.

Step 4: Now, in order to make sure your first shot is on the paper, and to save ammo, I suggest you boresight your rifle. TIME OUT!

To boresight, remove the bolt from the rifle and make sure your rifle is secure on sandbags or on a mechanical rest. Look through the rifle bore from the rear of the rifle. Locate the target and place in the middle of the bore. You will want to move the rifle until you can see the target centered in the field of view through the barrel. Once you have done that, do not move the rifle, but adjust the scope, using the elevation and windage knobs accordingly to align the crosshairs on the target.

Step 5: Once you’ve sighted in, reinsert the bolt and get the rifle in a steady shooting position.

Recommendation: Dry fire now! Carefully sight in the target and very gently squeeze the trigger. Practice 5-10 times to get acquainted with the trigger for a smooth, rather than jerky pull.

Step 6: Now you’re ready to affirm the boresighted zero. Load the rifle with one shell and check your shooting position. Make sure the rifle is solidly mounted on a rest, and adjust your shoulder and cheek on the gun with adequate pressure. Line the crosshairs of the scope on the center of the target. Now, gently press the trigger for the shot.

Here you will want to fire three shots, to make sure the grouping is consistent, eliminating any flyers.

Step 7: Identify where your bullets struck the target by looking through a spotting- or riflescope, or physically examining the target. In most cases than not (hopefully) they will land where you intended.

Step 8: If necessary, you can make corrections to further refine your zero. To correct to the dead center of the target, adjust the elevation and windage knobs accordingly.

If the bullet struck low and right, for example, you’ll want to adjust the elevation knob on top, upping the appropriate distance, so the elevation is correct. Sometimes this is a guessing game. The same holds true for windage. Look on the knob for the indicator of which direction controls movement to the left/right on the side. Since the bullet struck too far to the right, in this case, you’ll be adjusting the knob (left) to the appropriate distance.

Repeat Step 6

Step 9: More often than not, you will need to make several refinements in order to find the perfect zero.

We recommend shooting three shots each time, again, to eliminate flyers.

Note: Based on a hundred yard zero for…

Hunting rifles, a 1 ½ – 2 inch zero is a respectable group for hunting ammo

Long range hunting rifles, a 1 inch zero is a respectable group

Target Rifles, a sub-half minute is a respectable group

SUGGESTION: Before leaving the range, check that screws on your scope mount and your pillar bolts are tight. Repeat Step 6 to assure you have the perfect zero.

BAM! You should have hit the bull’s-eye! You are zeroed in and ready to rock!

About:
AR15.com

Honeoye Falls, NY -(Ammoland.com)- Last week we joined Nikon in St. Loius, MO at their Spot On Invitational Event for a special look and hands-on experience with their new optics line.

This included a full day of shooting using their spotting scopes, range finders, and scopes. I’m happy to say that among the bolt action rifles, muzzle loaders, shotguns, and handguns, in various calibers from .22LR to 300WM, AR-15s represented more than half of the dozens of firearms available.

The day began with an overview of their product line and the Spot On software and website. This is a Java application that gives the registered user (registration is free) access to a very complete ballistics database, and allows you to generate and print ballistics reports for your rounds and also provide data to customize the Nikon reticles for your load. Rather than attempt to describe how the software works, there are a couple of videos on the Nikon site.

The M-223 line of rifle scopes is designed for the AR-15, and includes 5 new scopes all engineered for the .223/5.56mm NATO round (although with a 55gr polymer tip bullet). There is a 1-4×20 with a Point Blank Reticle, and then a 2-8×32, and a 3-12x42SF both available with a NikoPlex or BDC 600 reticle. The NikoPlex reticle is a standard duplex reticle, and these scopes come equiped with a Rapid Action Turret which allows you to dial your distance out to 600 yards. The BDC 600 reticle is graduated for shots out to 600 yards, and both are on the second flocal plane.

Nikon Hunting

We spent the day firing these as well as a number of other Nikon optics (Monarch X for those looking for a 30mm mildot scope), and all performed well throughout the day. Engaging targets with the ARs out to 600 yards was easy, and this included steel, paper targets, and small 1lb containers of Tannerite. I ran various scopes through box tests, manipulating their adjustments up and down, and various other exercises. Using the BDC reticles made quickly engaging multiple targets at various ranges quick and effortless. Nikon has succeeded in providing a good quality optic with a relatively low price for hunters, recreational shooters, and professionals alike.

Along with the various scopes, Nikon had their line of binoculars, spotting scopes, and range finders on hand. A small, 10×42 pair of binoculars will soon be added to my kit, and their high-end spotting scopes made spotting at 600 yards extremely simple. Last but not least, their rangefinders worked reliably and consistently at all ranges tested (once the fog lifted!), and includes the only LCD/LED viewfinder; under bright light it uses an LCD display, but in low light it switches to an LED display for easy reading.

All in all, a very successful day at the range, and a ton of fun. I can honestly say that not only will I be recommending Nikon optics to others, but I will be adding a few of them to my own collection.

About:
Ammoland.com)- Leupold’s Tactical Optics Division introduces the CM-R2 reticle, which allows tactical and competitive shooters to quickly and accurately estimate range and engage targets.

By combining the ranging ability of Leupold’s Special Purpose Reticle (SPR) with the quick acquisition of the Leupold Circle Dot reticle, the CM-R2 provides the flexibility necessary on the modern battlefield or 3-gun course. The CM-R2 preserves the instinctive fire capabilities of the Circle Dot for the short-range, low magnification needs of the 3-gun competitor or CQB warfighter.

The CM-R2 is designed to allow the shooter to focus more attention on the target and less attention on the reticle. A boldly illuminated 0.5 MOA dot surrounded by a 5.0 MOA semi-circle enhance the shooter’s focus and combine precision with speed when the target is up close and personal. Hash marks on the horizontal stadia are calibrated for leading moving targets at 5, 10 and 15 mph, respectively. Vertical tic marks allow users to estimate ranges based on 18” wide targets at increasing ranges, while also providing precise holdover points for targets between 300 and 900 meters.

“The CM-R2 reticle makes our battlefield-proven <a

Selected options can be retrofitted for existing <a

The system utilizes Leupold’s index matched glass with lens coatings designed to optimize the transmission of low-light wavelengths. As a result, shooters receive a crisper, brighter sight picture in dim light than ever before.

Following are key features of the available options:

M5 windage and elevation adjustment dials have audible, tactile 1/10 (0.1) milliradian clicks to match range-estimating, mil-based reticle options. This allows fast and easy correction in the field, resulting in greater shooting precision.

Horus reticles are mil-based and employ an advanced two-dimensional grid system that helps enhance both accuracy and ease of use. The fine grid marks do not obscure targets and thus allow rapid engagement, while the intuitive design can dramatically reduce training time. Horus reticle options include the H26, H27, H36, H37 and H58.

Front focal plane reticles allow the operator to use the scope on any magnification while retaining the exact spacing of range-estimating reticle features (the reticle magnifies with the image). Consequently, the operator can accurately estimate range and calculate holdovers at all power settings.

Leupold’s third-generation illuminated riflescope reticles advance the technology with an array of features designed to provide a user-friendly, intuitive system for fast target acquisition in tactical low-light situations. Third-generation illumination offers a 15 percent brighter reticle, eight different intensity settings (two compatible with night-vision equipment) and redesigned control dials to enhance ease of use.

While no single Mark 4 riflescope can be fitted with all the upgrade options, numerous variations exist and most models are capable of accepting multiple upgrades. To determine specific options available for particular scopes, contact Leupold Tactical Optics at 1-800-LEUPOLD.

Ready for deployment, Mark 4 ER/T, LR/T and MR/T riflescopes are waterproof, fog proof and shock proof. A 30mm maintube provides exceptional strength and allows for a wide range of windage and elevation adjustment. Exhaustive testing in the factory and field ensures durability. Flip-open lens covers are standard issue. Each scope comes in a matte black finish and is covered by the company’s Tactical Optics Warranty.

Leupold has offered precision optics for tactical applications since the 1985 introduction of Ultra riflescopes, which were designed to excel under the most extreme battlefield conditions. Today, more long-range Leupold Tactical Optics are in service with the U.S. military than any other brand. class="wp-caption-text">Midway USA

Columbia, MO --(Ammoland.com)- MidwayUSA, a catalog and Internet retailer offering Just About Everything for Shooting, Reloading, Gunsmithing and Hunting, is pleased to announce the Weaver Tactical Grand Slam rifle scope, made exclusively for MidwayUSA.

“For 33 years, MidwayUSA has been the source for quality products to improve shooting,” says Sean Doke, Optics Product Line Manager at MidwayUSA.

“The Tactical Grand Slam rifle scope was designed by MidwayUSA, in conjunction with Weaver Optics, to provide our Customers with the unique features they’ve asked for in a tactical rifle scope.”

This tactical scope features Weaver’s Micro-trac adjustment system, resettable 1/10 mil radian (MIL) windage and elevation turrets and a Mil-dot reticle, also known as MIL/MIL. The combination of these three features enables quick, precise windage and elevation corrections, as well as the ability to range the distance of objects of known size. With a MIL/MIL scope, a shot 1.5 mils low would require an elevation turret adjustment of 1.5 mils (15 clicks). This eliminates MOA conversions and allows the shooter to make adjustments quickly without having to do any math. The scope also features a 3x–10x magnification, a fast-focus eyepiece, 94% light transmission, and a 40mm objective.

The Weaver Tactical Grand Slam 3-10x rifle scope is covered by Weaver’s Lifetime Warranty and retails for only $399.99.

For more information about MidwayUSA or the Weaver Tactical Grand Slam, please visit midwayusa.com or call 1-800-243-3220.
Tags: Nikon Hunting

Melville, NY – -(AmmoLand.com)- Just in time for 2010 spring turkey seasons, Nikon introduces the new1.65-5x36mm TurkeyPro Shotgun Scope with Ballistic Turkey Reticle (BTR) available in Realtree APG, Mossy Oak Break Up or matte black to match your shotgun’s finish.

The new BTR reticle is designed to work as a ranging tool as well as an aiming device. The BTR’s circle within a circle construction allows shooters to use convergence to know when a turkey steps into range. Hunters simply place the small circle, on low power, or the large circle, on high power, to cover or subtend the turkey from head to wattles at 40 yards. The center circle acts as the aiming point and allows the shooter to still “see” the exact target spot even on low power.

The innovations with this turkey scope don’t stop with the reticle system. The TurkeyPro also features a removable Anti-Reflective Device (ARD), a first for turkey hunters.

“Using an ARD in a turkey-specific scope is a first but it makes perfect sense given a turkey’s amazing eyesight and spooky nature,” said Jon Allen, General Manager Nikon Sport Optics. “The new TurkeyPro uses input from some of the country’s best turkey hunters and is the first scope to combine all those years of experience into one scope.”

Five full inches of eye relief means hunters can comfortably and safely mount this scope on even the hardest kicking magnum shotguns. With a super bright exit pupil of 7.2mm and Nikon’s multicoated lens you can hunt right up to roost time. The durable one-inch tube features hand turn ¼-MOA adjustment and a 50-yard parallax setting. Multicoated lens provide 92% Light Transmission for excellent low light performance.

The new TurkeyPro BTR is available in Realtree APG or Mossy Oak Breakup with a MSRP of $279.95 or in a matte finish with an MSRP of $249.95. All feature the new Ballistic Turkey Reticle and will be available in plenty of time for spring 2010 hunting seasons.

Nikon Inc. is the U.S. distributor of Nikon sports and recreational optics, world-renowned Nikon 35mm cameras, digital cameras, speedlights and accessories, Nikkor lenses and electronic imaging products.

For more information on Nikon’s full line of Riflescopes, Binoculars, Spotting Scopes, Fieldscopes and Laser Rangefinders, please contact: Nikon Sport Optics, 1300 Walt Whitman Rd., Melville, NY 11747-3064, or call 1-800-645-6687. www.nikonhunting.com.
Tags: Aimpoint

Chantilly, VA –-(AmmoLand.com)- Aimpoint, the originator and worldwide leader in electronic red dot sighting technology, has announced the launch of an all-new line of premium red-dot optics specifically designed for use on hunting rifles and shotguns. These new products, known as the Aimpoint Hunter Series, make it possible for hunters to acquire their target faster and to make difficult shots in any weather or light conditions.

Aimpoint engineers started with a blank page when they designed the new Hunter H34L sight. and they came up with an exciting new product! This new line of non-magnified sights incorporates everything that end users have come to expect from Aimpoint, including legendary ruggedness and battery life measured in years. The Hunter Series also includes many additional features never before offered before by Aimpoint; enhanced optical performance provided by a 34mm tube, a newly designed front-mounted adjustment system that helps get shooters on target even faster than before, and a silently operated digital push button intensity adjustment touch pad. Just one look tells you that this is the most advanced hunting sight that Aimpoint has ever built, and the sleek, modern design will complement any firearm.

The first sights released in the series are 34mm products. The Hunter H34L is a full length sight ideal for use on center fire rifles with standard or magnum actions. The compact version, the H34S, is designed for use on standard action rifles and hunting shotguns. Both versions are mounted using two 34mm Weaver-style sight rings that are supplied with each sight. Both versions utilize a premium, multi coated anti-reflex lens in their massive 45mm objective, and operate for up to 50,000 hours (over 5 years) of constant operation from a single CR-2032 battery. Accuracy in any light or weather conditions is provided by a parallax-free lens system with a 2 MOA dot. These sights are fully waterproof, and extremely fast on target.

“The new Hunter Series shows that Aimpoint means business when it comes to hunting” said Brian Lisankie, President of Aimpoint Inc. “This is a completely new product, designed with input from serious hunters across the globe. We are very proud to offer North American hunters an alternative to magnified optics using the absolute latest developments in electro-optical science.
