Obviously bullet sorting works best if you start with several hundred bullets from a single manufacturer’s lot.

Most established bullet makers have excellent quality control, so all of your sorted batches should shoot well. However on rare occasions, you may need to discard a bullet that falls well outside the normal range.

Simply drop each bullet nose-down into the caliber-specific bullet comparator and place the dial indicator onto the base of the bullet to read its length.

Depending on how tight your tolerances are, you may end up with five to 15 separate batches of sorted bullets. Although each of your batches vary in length, all will invariably shoot better than unsorted bullets.

The match will take place August 26 – 28, 2011.

Accomplishing their goal of taking the popular 3 Gun format to the next level, the AR15.com/Rockcastle Pro Am will have two distinct and separate shooting competitions going on simultaneously.

The nation’s top 3 Gun professionals will compete over two and a half days running eight challenging and technical stages designed by former and current 3 Gun champions. Amateurs will compete over one and a half days shooting seven stages on a separate course also designed by 3 Gun greats, but tailored especially for the amateur and celebrity competitors. Over 500 shooters, across both divisions are expected to participate.

Another unique component to the match will be the Inaugural Charity Cup. A random draw at the opening ceremony will team a professional with an amateur and their combined scores through out the course of the weekend will be totaled. When the last pistol, rifle and shotgun have been fired and scores tallied, the Amateur paired with a Professional with the best score will win the Inaugural Charity Cup and bragging rights as top Pro Am team.

Longtime 3 Gun pro Jeff Cramblit will be the Match Director and ARFCOM’s (www.AR15.com) and NRA Board Member Joe DeBergalis will be Match Chairman. Rounding out the team is Range Master, Kurt Miller and Statistician, Linda Chico.

Sinclair Ammunition Reloading Supplies

Montezuma, Iowa --(Ammoland.com)- Team Sinclair’s Jeffrey Rorer dominated the field over nine days of competition to win the MacDonald Stewart Grand Aggregate in the F-Class TR (Target Rifle) category at the 128th Canadian Fullbore Championships held at the Connaught Rifle Range outside of Ottawa, Ontario.

The win earned Rorer the title of Canadian Fullbore F-Class TR Champion for 2010.

In F-TR competition Rorer also won the Farquharson Trophy in a runaway as his nearest competitor fell 21 points off the pace.

The prestigious Governor General’s prize came down to the wire for the hard-holding Rorer as the other F-Class TR shooters matched him shot for shot, cleaning most stages handily at various ranges out to 900 meters.

In the end, Rorer nabbed that prize, too, despite dropping six points in the 900-meter stage as the wind let off sharply. However, his nearest competitor, Matt Wolf, also dropped six points and finished three points back. Rorer won a total of 18 matches and aggregates over the nine days. Rorer also helped Team USA win the F-Class team match.

The 36-year-old North Carolina native has been a member of Team Sinclair for one year. His rifle was built on a Kelbly Panda action and trigger with a Broughton Palma barrel chambered for .308 Winchester.

This combination is bedded into a McMillan prone rifle stock and has a Center Shot bipod. It is topped with a Nightforce 12-42 NXS scope with NP-R1 reticle.

Rorer’s handloads use Lapua brass, Berger 185-gr. BT bullets and Varget powder. “My charge of Varget depends on the lot number, but I use enough to get 2,800 fps,” he said. “I’ve had to vary my powder charge about one grain over the years.” Rorer uses Redding, RCBS and Sinclair dies and tools to obtain precision match ammo.

We ask you to step boldly right out and be proud you are a Second Amendment conservative.

We’re told sending emails and communications out to our industry is like “preaching to the choir”. We don’t think so – for not every person in the choir is singing. Also, no one person represents the whole choir. Each individual is but one voice. We must all pull together, not necessarily speaking with one voice but supporting one score of music. None of us can afford to sit around and watch while one gun is banned and think that as long as it does not affect me, “they’ll never go after my sport”.

Well, open your eyes. While we were all layin’ back, the EPA is gearing up to ban lead.

Check out this report from NSSF, our National Shooting Sports Foundation.  This influences all our shooting sports plus all our police. The challenge that America is throwing at our feet is for us to stand up and start to sing…start to sing about individual rights our Constitution grants us.

Among those rights is a really important one: to hold our elected representatives accountable to us, their constituents and the folks who voted for them, for their actions. To allow us to fulfill the American dream and be successful on our terms. This is the torch that Pete and I have chosen to pick up and we challenge you to pick it up as well. We must all be heading in the same direction – the right direction – and we must come together to make them listen to us.

We cannot get bothered by distracting petty internal disagreements. Frankly, the enemy is at the gate and knocking darned loudly!!

Derek Rodgers moved to Open class this year and took the class win while Danny Biggs came in third, with the highest X-Count of the entire match. Interestingly enough, Biggs chose to use a Sinclair F-Class Bipod with a prototype height adjustment system instead of the usual front pedestal rest allowed in open class.

“We’ve been working on the height adjustment option for our winning F-Class Bipod for a while. Danny has helped with the testing and decided to use the final prototype in the Nationals and give it a real-world test in match conditions,” said Sinclair President Bill Gravatt.

“Obviously it worked well and we’re in production right now with availability in late May.”

Rodgers used a Sinclair Generation II Windage Top on a pedestal rest, plus many of Sinclair’s precision reloading tools to achieve his winning score.

Another Team Sinclair shooter, Mason Parker took the top Junior award in F-T/R for the second year in a row using his Sinclair F-Class Bipod.

I will be smack in the middle of it when this letter arrives and will try to post an update one night on the blog about anything new that we see, especially in the reloading arena.

Showcased in the catalog are a couple of new Hornady products that will be available soon – one is the new Lock-N-Load Auto Charge Powder Dispenser and the other is their Lock-N-Load Sonic Cleaner designed for case cleaning. I was given a prototype Sonic Cleaner a few weeks ago and it promises to be a very handy tool. I was amazed how clean the inside of my dirty cases were. I am still waiting on the arrival of the new Auto Charge Powder Dispenser so I can give it a workout.

Lapua has finally decided to produce some 22-250 Remington brass – this unprimed brass won’t be available until later this spring but we wanted to make sure you were aware that it is coming. We have been after them to make this cartridge for a long time. I am sure it will be of the same great quality as all of the other Lapua products.

Another new product offering this year from Lapua will be their 308 Winchester Palma brass with a small primer pocket. There will be a big demand from both 308 shooters and wildcat reloaders. We should see this cartridge arrive in a few months.

I would be remiss in not mentioning two old product names that will be back in the Sinclair catalog. Redfield scopes are being re-introduced into the market by Leupold and Birchwood Casey has brought back the RIG products (RIG grease, RIG-Rags, etc.). Both of these product lines will be welcome additions. I am looking forward to trying out one of the new Redfield 4-12 scopes and also their compact, digital laser rangefinders. We should see these on our shelves shortly.
