Madison, NC --(Ammoland.com)- Remington Arms Company congratulates the Team Remington shooters on their incredible performances at the 2011 National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) U.S. Open Championship, held May 17 – 22 at M & M Sporting Clays in Pennsville, New Jersey.

Fresh off her win at the World English Sporting Clays Championship, top Team Remington honors belong to Ashleigh Hafley for earning the title of 2011 NSCA U.S. Open Lady Champion. Hafley fired a 172/200 to capture the title, five birds ahead of teammate Diane Sorantino who finished Lady Runner-Up (RU). Sorantino also enjoyed an incredible tournament and took home Lady Champion titles in the Federation Internationale de Tir Aux Sportives de Chasse (FITASC) & Masters Cup events. Also making her presence felt was Remington’s Haley Dunn, who finished RU to Sorantino in FITASC and Lady 3rd in the Masters Cup.

On the men’s team, Remington shooter Bill McGuire fought hard for the U.S. Open title but fell four birds short finishing in 3rd place. It was a great weekend for McGuire as he also grabbed the Masters Cup Title and won the Make-A-Break challenge over a field of the sport’s best. When all the shooting was over in the Masters Cup Championship, Team Remington members McGuire, Cherry, and Mauldin found themselves knotted in a three-way tie at 95/100. McGuire earned the top honors in the shootout, followed by Cherry and Mauldin respectively.

A special congratulation goes out to shooter Derek Mein, who used his 1oz. Premier Nitro Gold Sporting Clay loads to fire an unbelievable 99/100 and capture the U.S. Open FITASC Championship title.

“It was simply another remarkable showing by Team Remington,” said John Bauer, Shooting Sports Manager at Remington. “When it counts most, our athletes and products continue to prove their superiority in the toughest of competitions.”
